Lunmad , also on my bike. I had the number 1 cylinder locked. Due to the valve open for several years. It was'nt bad enough to start from scratch. That turned out to be OK. I know the valve timing is ok. The valve ajustment at .002 Intake and .004.
a dot of fuel and back fire out the exhaust, No carbs on yet. T120R.
Do you have any advise for me at this time. You are a great tech, by the way. I watch you're vids over and over.
Lunmad, I ask if you had the breaker point vid. I have a wonderful 65 with 4,532 true miles
I can't seem to get the timing correct. The man that built it was a true Craftsman. His Up grades are beyond my skills.
I purchased th timing tool . There are no timing slots in the crank to be found. Also is the point setting at the small magnet on the AU? The jugs were bored .325 and sleeved. Norton 11to 1 Pistons.
I've done that road many times in my Scooby but I've yet to take the bike up there. Having watched this I think I'll head up there next weekend. Hopefully the weather doesn't turn turdyballs.
Ha! Excellent video! What a thrilling 10 minutes - had my heart thumping round some of those bends! My mate used to race his bog standard 1973 Bonnie at the old Croft autodrome against Jap plastic missiles, and even managed to lap a few of em'
It handles very well and is quite forgiving the suspension set up I have is quite solid!! and I do get bounced about a bit, it is also very light 365lbs(165.5)so has quite short braking distances for the drum brakes.
great sound love the bike wish my cb 500 sound like that

Nice bike and one with a proper sound! I used to have a V-twin where bits would drop-off all over the place.

Cheers Nosteratees you should do it on your bike tis a great road! watch out for the "bobbies" are you localish to the area?
there is a cafe near Chop Gate "lordstone cafe" worth a visit. :-)
lunmad 3 years ago
I'm not too far away. Just in Norton. Me and my mate were going to have a pop up to the Lord Stones Cafe too.
That is the one at the top of Carlton Bank isn't it?
At least when I do the the Helmsley run I'll know where to beware of them manhole covers thanks to your vid!

You are only ten minutes from me then :-) I live in amidst the steel and chemical works.
"lordstone cafe" coming from our end, is turn right as you enter Chop Gate and head towards Osmotherly,
If you take a look at my other vid
"Triumph and Harley lordstone cafe" it shows you the way, it is the same run as this one only turning off towards the cafe.
