just so everyone knows: Rosewood (most common mid-level guitar fretboard wood) sawdust is toxic and considered an irritant. If its inhaled, ingested, or manages to get in your eyes you could experience serious respiratory and vision problems including blindness.

dude i was looking forward to place inlays on my bass neck .. that kind of inlays Billy Sheehan got on his Yamaha att ltd bass .. any ideas about how to .. without using any cutting steps .. god i could cry if i did that to my bass neck !
is it possible to inlay inlays without cutting into the fretboard?- i know some people do this but i mean as in..uhm..do i need some really really thin inlay if im just gluing it there or is it ok if its not super thin? it wont really change the intonation of the strings will it? the strings dont touch the fretboard all the way down do they?
i have a jazz bass and i want it done over with the pearl inlays do you work on other guitars if so email me back with a price id love to have it done the right way.

Any idea how I can do this without that nifty saw you used on the fret board?
JAustinMunn 3 years ago
Use a wood chisel set. It'll take longer but you can get a tighter fit.
