  • Go Frankie! Played this outta my Chevy speakers LOUD while I promoted The Catfish Cruise around The Clyde..........whoooooowheeeeeee baybeeee!

  • I remember watching a song series for children when I was about 4 or so (20 years ago) and this song has stuck with me since. Fun song, too bad a lot of today's hot hits don't even come close to the sheer awesomeness of the 50's 60's and 70's music scenes.

  • In our little village in Germany : Top Hit yet.. since 50 years... all poeple dancin' on party time

  • In 1999, we had this on CD when I was six years old. My mother and father had a full home theater six-disc CD player. We would play this on loop and just dance around.

    I still remember it… "Oooh-we, ooooh-we baby!"

We still have the CD! Thank you for posting this!

    ^_^

  • On those days until the early 80's artists sing live, no studio special effects and they were real musicians

  • Just to be correct, according to wikipedia this isn't the original

THIS is : Huey "Piano" Smith and His Clowns - Sea Cruise

  • we play this band! ausome song

  • gotu love rock in roll its better and has 100% real instruments unlike rap and hip hop that has 0% real instruments in it

  • First heard this about 1959. I was in the 6th grade and playing records for a company party. I had no idea what this was because I had not heard it before. When I put this one on the manager ran over and turned the volume up real loud and grabbed this wife and did some fancy swing dancing with her.

V A Hospital employees picnic Jackson, MS. I believe this was on a 45rpm record and the player was a WW II vintage military unit with a lot of volume!!

  • I Still Love You, My Darling Linda!!!

  • boy does this bring back great memories

  • I love this song!!

  • Great to hear this oldie but goodie!!! I thought that Jerry Lee Lewis did the original....and was famous for it.....what a surprise.

  • I am 29 as well and my friends were listening to the same as yours and i agree with the better adjusted person thing.

  • Its just plain Sick! Gotta love it.

  • I first heard this song on a Gallagher standup comedy special called Overboard and loved it right away.

I agree with all you guys as well. I'm almost 30 and 1965-1994 is like the music I grew up on along with a few 50s rock songs like this. I always hated garbage like rap, teenpop and autotune shit now.

  • @JPMcFly1985 Thank God I'm not the only one who came here 'cause of Gallagher.

  • The 10 people who disliked need a slap.

  • Go to Butchart Gardens 2011 for a Sea Cruise by Rukus.

  • i am 18 years old and i love music like this this is music not that new age rubbish :)

  • yea baby I finally found it

  • I need a time machine a.s.a.p not only is America screwed up politically and finacially in 2011 but also in cars, styles, morality and music I need to go back to these times ( i also want a plymouth fury from 58')

  • This song was written, arranged and recorded by Huey "piano" Smith and his band. The record company replaced his vocal in 1959 with Frankie Ford's vocal and it became a huge hit. Huey "Piano" Smith wrote many r&b/blues/rock hits in the 50's and 60's including "Rockin' Pneumonia and the Boogie Woogie Flu".

  • Just heard this on radio, what a track, I can do a BIT of rock an roll, but this is SO good an so fast,it could prove fatal. What a way to go!

  • AGREED!!!! OLDIES FOREVER!

  • Ace Productions and batman21811...............You are the people to take the best music ever to the next generation. Dont let your kids ever forget this was the music that changed the world ..........

  • man you know how to pick-em. great song

  • Batman21811 - it's always surprising but such great fun to find young folk today that love this "early" music. Best thing about 50's - 60's Rock and Roll is just how freakin' good it makes you feel. I can't listen to it without at least boogying in my chair. And, if I'm with Sweetie? I just wanna get up and dance. Good to have you join us Old Farts.

  • We put this song in our cheer mix haha :)

  • Is Dr John (Mac Rebennack) playing piano or bass on this session? Does anybody out there know? Thanks.

  • I dance to this in my dance recital

  • The Harbor Man digs this one!

  • who cares if you are of the young generation who likes old music? Its just plain awesome regardless of age.

  • Classic love it and I am only 35

  • @magenta2325 Lol I'm 20 years younger than you and I love it!

  • we sang this song in choir lol

  • kids here where i live says this isn,t rock and i said yes it is. it,s 50s rock. not the stuff they got today.

  • best song ever <3333333 love you poppy

  • lo mejor ...el esplendor de esta decada>>>sountrack my american cousing>>~!:)

  • Best song ever! I use this for auditions. I've been listening it to since I was 4. My grandma has an old jukebox from a local sockhop bar and this song is on it! :)

  • BRILLIANT !!!! FRANKIE SOCKS IT TO US... ROLL IT MAN. colindaleradiosutch

  • Once you're done with this song go look up Wrong 'Em Boyo by The Clash... I think you'll be surprised!

  • when i leave this place could someone please make sure my rock and roll shoes are buried with me. thank you :-)

  • Love to rub her boobies... wow

  • Roller Skate to that by-golly....Life was sooooo good!...I'm almost to the end..... ;-(

  • Just saw Frankie in concert Feb. 2011 and he sounded just as great as back in the day! He is sharp. amazing, funny, and so friendly:) (Nothing like Jerry Lee Lewis who was "dead" no emotion and showed up late to the show with a horrible mperformance)

  • l love this song. I think the older the song is the better it is.

  • this song never ceases to remind me of dancing around my grandparents' living room about 15 years ago when i was a kid...i still love it!

  • Man, you guys are right. This simple music right here is so much better than stuff like T-Pain or Lil' Wayne. I love these good ol' Classic American tunes man.

  • hit it frankie !

  • Oh thats just nice. Thank you. Hope you never remove it :)

  • haa. . I'M 23. . LOL. . OLDIES N CLASSIC ROCK RULES!! HAHA

  • @559131313 this is the kind of rock i remember. it,s nothing like the junk they have today.

  • goggolefreak234 keep your faggot comments to yourself only a faggot would write what you wrote from r.ls.

  • 50's music is the best!!

  • this is perfect for summertime

  • Good old music from the 50s - and I can't understand all these people who are discussing the lyrics - no other problems, folks ??

  • Super Song !!!!!!

  • WOW amazing that this music might live on if folks like ACEPRODUCTIONs like it. Good choice. The way America once WAS

  • @iamnaughty123 lmao

  • Ooo Wee - Ooo Wee Baby - Ooo Wee - Ooo Wee Baby! I LOVE IT!

  • Sea Cruise = "I'd like to get you on a slow boat to China...?" I had to break the 45 rpm record of Peanut Butter by the Marathons but Sea Cruise by Frankie Ford was on a tape played hundreds of times as cover music at our compound. It required surreptitious degaussing.

  • Sea Cruise = "I'd like to get you on a slow boat to China...?"

  • An artist makes a 3 minute song and lives forever.

    Great stuff.

Any idiot knows what a Sea Cruise is.

  • @joe196798 No I don't. Please enlighten me....

  • @joe196798 I guess I'm not just any idiot, so please enlighten me. (If it's a sexual euphimism, I could understand this song; otherwise, it makes no sense.)

  • @hell5309 its a cruise he added the sea part to modify the tune nd make the chorus longer and better

  • @GoggleFreak234 This joker must be loaded if he feels like going on a cruise just because Old Man Rhythm's in his shoes and it's no use sittin' and a-singin' the blues.

  • @hell5309 u fail shut up

  • @GoggleFreak234 Sit down and rotate, buddy.

  • @hell5309 wtf

  • @GoggleFreak234 It means sit down on a penis and start spinning.

  • I'm 14 and i think that this song is better than anything on the radio right now. New music sucks! This is perfect!!

I'm from Brazil and i love the 50's and 60's american songs!

    Thank you AK47bandit

  • I used to listen to an 8 track with this on it back in 1976!

  • One of my favorite late 1950 songs: Sea Cruise (Take 13) - Frankie Ford [Gretna, Louisiana] - No.14 on 3/9/1959. 12 weeks Top 40. - "AMG Pick. ...is one of the all-time New Orleans rock'n'roll classics, as ideal a combination of early rock'n'roll with boogying New Orleans R&B as could ever be hoped for. Huey "Piano" Smith orchestra." - Ooh-Wee Baby! The Best Of Frankie Ford [Import UK] (Westside Records)-2008. NOTE: This compilation maybe on of the BEST. :-)

  • @thedayfornight Huey "piano" smith wrote this and is playing on it. The record company cut his vocals out and dubbed frankie's instead...

  • I passsed you all in my 51 Olds which could flat fly in 1958, radio blaring this and other great tunes.lowered, duals, flippers and lake pipes. c'mon title for title....

  • Amen. '51 Ford---65 in second gear---you believe that? Let's face, from the end of WWII to maybe 1975 was America's golden era. Never been a time before or since that could rival it.

  • First heard this on Gallagher: Overboard. Lol. Great times.

This is possibly my favorite oldie of all time, and I love quite a few of them.

  • @Ratgrappler Same here. First time I heard it, I thought he was talking about a 'City Cruise'.

I have to ask: is 'sea cruise' a euphimism for something, or was this just a nonsensical blues song?

  • @hell5309 Lol you never know, especially with songs like Chuck Berry's "Ding a Ling", but I guess I actually interpret this one pretty literally.

  • @Ratgrappler Well, what does 'sea cruise' mean? I don't understand these lyrics (the difference between this and 'Ding a Ling' is that the lyrics of the latter actually make sense).

  • great song, takes me back to my childhood which was only a few years ago but my closest friend (my dad) grew up in 50's early 60's and thats all I was exposed to as a child and I really enjoy it still

  • I'm 14 years old...While my friends are listening to "Eminem" and "Usher", I'm listening to this. You can't mess with things that are THIS good!!!!

  • @AceProductions91 No one gives a rats ass how old you are.

  • @AceProductions91

    I'm also 14. I so totally agree. 60's, 70's, 80's MUSIC FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @AceProductions91 you might wanna check my playlist ! quest the nest in there i love all that old shit and im only 24 ! see UFO the chocolate watchband the jarmels jimmy dee and the offbeats ect !

  • @AceProductions91 Same here my friend. :)

  • You're awesome kid, and I'm just 34, but I know you love real music just like me!! I get laughed at for my musical tastes, but we know they're just are sheep among shepherds.

  • @AceProductions91 me two dude.

  • @AceProductions91 Huzzah for teenagers that know good music when they hear it!

  • @AceProductions91 Aren't you fucking great!?!

  • @AceProductions91 Aren't you fucking great!?!

  • @cdutchy08 Is that supposed to be offensive?

  • @AceProductions91 Not particularly, it's just people who write something that is a paraphrase of, "Oh look at me, I'm young and listen to music that is from another era, aren't I great?" get on my tits.

  • @AceProductions91 I am now 29 years old. I graduated H.S. in 1999. back then I was listening to rock 'n roll from 1959. My friends wewre into snoop dog, warren G, and marilyn Manson. Now I'm also into songs from the 60's and seventies. My musical interest are 40 years behind and I think I am a better adjusted person because of it. Now alot of my friends like them too. Keep rockin' those oldies.

  • @dogfish1602 if you are a musician than you really are much better off,,thats for sure!

  • @AceProductions91

    haha me too:D

  • @AceProductions91 I'm 3 weeks old and I like this music more than you do. Goo goo gaa gaa

  • @JackBuck44 ....MMMMMM...A fast learner...

  • @AceProductions91 you're not the only one! Now, we're 2! :D And here in Italy the culture doesn't even know what rock n roll is about or what country, blues are about. Here you can only find metalheads (which i am) but i also LOVE this kind of music. Man, i gotta tell ya, I love USA sounds =)

  • @AceProductions91 Ha. ME TOO. :DDDDD

  • @AceProductions91 you sure can't....they're old but good and I LOVE them all ;)

  • @AceProductions91 Get your grandpa, grandma, or anyone in their mid 60's to teach you how to dance the simple two step hand jive (It's FUN) THAN burn a DVD with 4 fast ones an one slow one all the way through the dvd.. from 1955-70 and then have a 60's party with your friends. Dance til you drop. No drugs, booze or face studs .. p.s. invite your grandparents or elderly parents if it so be the case.

  • That song has rattled around in my head since the fifties. Click here to see how I dance to it.

  • did ken ware write this?

  • I'm going on my firt cruise January 22, 2011.

  • 186,956 views on Aug 22-10. We're gettin' there

  • I wish I had a time machine badly!

I really hate the new generation

you notice how songs back then had that fun feeling

makes me wanna get up and dance

not like today all i hear are people singing I wanna shoot you and take your girlfreind then you have the female singers saying i kissed a girl

then you have that emo crap I have no idea what they are saying!

    I'am only 20 and i like 50's music!

    LONG LIVE THE 50's!!!!!!!!!!

  • @batman21811 There is still a strong following of rock n roll and rockabilly.I've just back from hemsby from a long weekender all live bands give it a go it's brilliant

  • @batman21811

It'll never die, as long as people like you and me and others that love this video are around. Thats one good thing about this generation at least....improved anonymous communication via internet....lol

  • @batman21811 - yeah, I agree. I'm 46 and I can't get into all the pretentious, self-aware, let-me-show-you-how-badass-I-am music of today. If you like the 50's, you may also like the 80's as well (which I'm sure you already do). Lots of great, bouncy, fun, happy songs from the 80's. My favorite decade!!! I loved it.

  • @batman21811 good for you mate, im 42 and wish i,d been born in 50,s the music was very special.

  • @batman21811 The 30s and 40s were even better. "Music" apparently gets exponentially worse with time.

  • @batman21811 im so glad to hear someone young speak about the 50's and like the music so much, i hope you will always enjoy it as much as i do (im a rocker and i live for the rock 'n' roll and rockabilly) all the best to you. Vinnie.

  • @batman21811 I'm 20, and I find your comment really unintelligent -- partly because it's clear that you failed freshman English, but also because you sound like an intolerant being. I'm not in touch with what goes on these days, but I'm pretty sure "emo" is not a music genre, which is why I think you're actually someone twice my age pretending to be 20 to get recognition. I bet you know nothing about oldies or oldies trivia. Here's a song you should learn: SILENCE IS GOLDEN!

  • @RedSpecial16 and duct tape is silver ;)

  • I'm going on a Sea Cruise...over to Bowen Island

  • this song is not on the cd!!

  • Bemded kness?----sure~! Kay

  • actually what sounds like a foghorn in the background is a duck call...my grandpa jim barrios is the original drummer on this track

  • actually what sounds like a foghorn in the background is a duck call...my dad jim barrios is the original drummer on this track

  • love this thanks

  • Had a 49 Merc with fender skirts and lowered to the ground, midnite blue with white tuck and roll lakes pipes and moon hubcaps. cruisin pacific ave in Stockton ca in 1958 listenin to this kinda rock, was great fun....

  • @prebooomer Great !!! I had a 51 Merc,, three real dark green on,,looked black til you got up close. ( I never liked a GREEN car,,but that Merc was 'so slick" I bought it anyway. Fell asleep at the wheel on a street in Zanesville,Ohio returning to Pittsburgh in 1955 from Buckeye Lake in 1955 and totalled it. Had just put new glass packs on it day before.

  • WOW back to the 50's. This music goes best with dancing. Click here - the same music with dancing in my living room 2:49.

  • @jframp there is no 2:49

  • @cjolney "jframp" is my youtube id. by (2:49) I meant that is how long my video runs. sorry for the misunderstanding. To see my video go to "jframp" or enter "missroon" in the search block.

  • i heard this from KidSongs many many years ago

  • This music was meant for dancing. Click here and see what I mean. 2:49

  • Gee, I just came here to listen to a little music and have a good time. Frankie looked like he was. Had I wanted to express my political values that no one cares to hear, I'd have probably chosen the talk radio venue. Now there's some fun. Enjoyed the song, thanks for posting.

  • WHATEVER is to come can NEVER be as bad as the last EIGHT YEARS! Please just talk about the music!

  • I respectfully suggest you catch up on what is going on in the white house, instead of what your liberal hacks tell you.

  • I am very happy..no ecstatic with what is going on in the White House, thank you. I prefer, on this forum, to discuss the music. For political purposes, one should seek a political forum. I remember when this particular song was popular.. I was about 10 years old. So you see, I have come too far and seen too much to take advice from someone with whom I am unacquainted . I know a fool when I see one. I know that we were in the hands of a fool for 8 long years. I say this with all due respect 2 U!

  • LOVE iT xD LoL

  • Comment removed

  • Dance music doesn't get any better. See me prove it. Search for "missroon" and watch the first video for 2:49 to the surprise ending.

  • Oh my god, you conservative lunatics will even defile Frankie Ford? Have you no respect for anything?

  • Your's is the only negative post I have seen mentioning Frankie Ford.. Why don't you slither back under the liberal rock you crawled out from under and next time get your facts straight BB Brain.

  • 98% certain the mark is a chip implant.

  • I mean how can I load up a tank of gas if I don't have the mark? How do I eat? I won't be able to grow my own veggies b/c the One World Government will demand we have a permit to do that ... and carbon credits.

and I'd rather die than take the mark, in fact if I am here etc etc...

  • LOVE this old song though

  • The church (body of believers) has to wake up real quick and get this done soon. OR.. it could be over quicker than we can imagine

  • I'm dancin already. I miss those days

  • My favorite song. see me dance to it, Search "Sea Cruise Missroon".

  • great great great great great song!!!!!!!!!! gets stuck in your head and no one wants it out!!

  • USNTC San Diego Calif. 1957 - Another place, another time. Back when America was still the land of the brave and the free.

  • Still isd. Just need to get rid of the gangs, drugs, illegals and those damned slimey terrorists

    and the Democrats

  • Especially the Democrats S. They are destroying our great country from within. Check out Glenn Beck on Fox news network and learn first hand what is happening to America. It's a scary tale being told. .

  • Democrats = communists under a different name. Nothing surprises me, though.

permit me to post the solution for this mess (and man cannot fix it by himself)

2 Chor 7:14 and this is just addressing believers, not the aetheists or 95% of the democrats: If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

  • That is the only answer. It is said when Jesus returns second time, he will have left his nice guy clothes at home and shall come in his fighting togs and leading his legions of angels, shall destroy the evil ones from sea to sea and the blood shall flow as to the height of the horses bridle. If they won't let me holp, I would at least like to watch.

  • Good paraphrase. I am not sure when the church is taken out (and I get uneasy when others claim they have the answer set in stone) I kind of like to think it will be right at the start of seven very horrible years; the likes of such has not been seen since the beginning of time.

  • Because, after all, taking delight in others' pain is a very Christian virtue, right?

  • You sound about as scatter brained as your liberal friend that crawled back under his liberal rock.

Liberal standing orders seem to be:

    - Lie

    - Deny

    - Accuse

    - Name Call

  • darryls007,

I feel it is my obligation to inform you, due to my right of free speech as you so eloquently cited, that in no way has any of your "liberal" opponents partaken of your "standing orders" (Lie, Deny, Accuse, Name Call)

In fact, you sir are the only one on this thread issuing forth such actions.

    And I quote from you:

    1) Scatter Brained

    2) Liberal Hacks

    3) Slither back under your rock

I wish you the very best of luck in achieving an education.

  • Great to jitterbug to. My sister was my best partner. Still is.

  • you rock!!! thx for adding this song

  • sweet
