  • I had a roommate who wanted to find a kitten, but one that didn't cost anything. My response? Don't get a pet until you can afford it. My dog got an eye infection, then cushing syndrome and I without complaint I have shelled out about 1k this year. Even if you get a cat or dog free you need to have spare cash around in case of sudden decline in health. I'm just glad my dogs can be treated, not upset it costs $! I'm a pharmacist and am used to people expecting EVERYTHING for NOTHING.

  • FUCK LEFT WING LIBERALS!!!!!!!

  • I hate people like this.

  • Money.Money.Money

    Ahahahahaha!!!

  • This is why we give estimates for EVERYTHING before we do ANYTHING

  • You know some won,t let you go home and check your account so you know what you can give.Agree services ok.But allow even with a police escort to check finances. So no one feels hostage.Eather pet dies or you stay and submit to a credit card before finance checks.? cause they get stiffed so offten.YIKES.

  • This nails about half of the customers! Veterinarians already don't make a whole lot of money and then people complain about costs... people need to make a living too and pay for products that are used in the clinic. It's not cheap for the vets either. Don't get a pet if you can't be responsible and afford what comes along with it

  • @willywonka0307 you tell 'em girl!

  • @willywonka0307 I have seen so many people like that! it drives me mad!

  • People want state of the art treatment at no cosxt. How do they think the training, staff and equipment get paid for?

  • why can't ppl not be so friggin stupid?! if you aren't willing to pay for care for an animal, don't get one. it cost abt 5k for treatment when my dog got hit by a car, and this was w/ the vet giving me discounts for being a student and the situation. i am thankful that they were able to treat my baby and did everything they said to do to help her recover. she and her brother get excited to go to the vet, they just don't like the hospital.

  • these are so funny!!LOL!!!

  • If you want cheap prices you'd better be willing to settle for cheap care!! Caveat emptor!! (buyer beware) You get what you pay for!!

  • You expect expertly trained vets & state of the art equipment, right?! Who do you think should pay for that?? Remember, the next time you bitch about your bill, we have bills, too!! I don't know a single vet driving a car less than 5 years old!! My boss goes months without drawing a paycheck. Pets are a luxury!! If you can't afford quality care get a pet rock!!

  • lol, like the lady who loves her cat, just got hit by a car and runs crying into my vets office with the cat in a box wanting the cat fixed but she only has 250.00 to spend to fix her cat! AND WTF, why was the cat outside?? Always the same shit all the time and calls -Do you know of a cheap vet??? But I love my dog and cat! what the hell ois wrong with people and they think they are good pet owners! I could strangle them!

  • If you are that poor... shoot the dog... Problem solved.

  • Wow . . . sooo true. I love how people bitch about money soooo much but want SUPER care for their pet, you get what you pay for. And we do need to eat and provide for our families and furry kids as well!

  • what's a historectomy??!!! A removal of all your history?!

  • To prevent these situations the solution is simple. Pre-procedural estimates. Let the client know they will be charged for another radiograph, a bandage change and a possible refill of thier pets medication. Have them sign an estimate and there will be no arguements. Money is tight all across the country and we cannot assume that clients have an extra $100 to pay.

But yes, above all else, treat everyone you meet kindly.

  • Ahhh, I've had this conversation before! As a vet tech, I can tell you this is no exaggeration! Sad, isn't it?

  • Some people really need to remeber to take their medication !!!

  • Some people need to remember to take thier meds !!!!!

  • I once had a lady yell at me that the prices for the donuts at the shop i work at weren't clarified well enough. I was so shocked that I called her a bitch as she drove away. I never do things like that. The prices are in plain and easy to read writing on the menu that she was staring at. XD

(I'm so sorry that the price for a Half dozen isn't half the price of the cost for a full dozen.) Bwahahaha

  • @a2zpets Yes, veterinarians are the biggest crooks around because they have the audacity to try to earn a living. People like you are exactly the reason I left private practice.

  • @a2zpets You're such an ignorant piece of trash. It's people like you who make it hell to be a veterinarian. You have no idea how these things really work.

Please don't ever get another pet. Thank you.

  • @a2zpets Yup.. Such big crooks. Yet they'll fix your pet. And lest we forget the animals that like to thrash and try to bite and shit on an exam table. oh wait, it's the vets that are shitty. Not the ghetto person that wants their dog's meds for like $5 and get pissed when X-rays are needed. Get over yourself

  • She's kinda scary. That's funny.

  • lmao I love this..

  • Wow...so very true. And the outcome happens more often than most think!

  • hahaha. i hate the fact that you explain them what will happen "if you take of the collar it will bleed again" and they reply "if it gets uncomfortable i will remove it" its like throwing eggs on the wall as we say in Cyprus;P

  • LOVE IT, SOOOOO TRUE! It is funny and sad that this is what we deal with more often than not these days.

  • ahhh room ONE... at my practice that is the euthanasia room. too bad we only have legal authorization to do non-human patients. (snicker)

  • OMG this happens at our clinic everyday. I hurt something laughing!

Following instructions is free not is pain for your pet and your wallet!!!!!!

  • Oh dear god! I work as a receptionist at a vet and this is no exaggeration!

  • totally not an exaggeration.... lmao! "if he gets uncomfortable i will take this off"

  • Omg I work at an emergency clinic and this describes half our clients! Soooo funny!

  • The scary thing is that this isn't even an exaggeration....LOL

  • @goshawkf Couldn't have said it better. This is pretty much a daily occurrence at my clinic. It makes me wish this were the 1940's when people weren't so oversensitive, so I could be honest and tell these morons how unreasonable they are.

  • oh my god... being a vet is basically charity work (esp. in Australia anyway). Can't stand this. Reminds me of a forum where this guy was complaining about how criminal it was that they charge ~$120 for a spay. How much would it charge a human female for a historectomy??

  • @khal3687 So true. An old doctor I worked with has been practicing since 1986. He's still paying for vet school after 24 years because the clinic never turns a profit. Last year, he literally didn't see a cent for himself.

Veterinary medicine truly is a charity service. It's a wonder anyone actually goes to vet school anymore. Then again, with government health care passed, and the government deciding doctors' salaries, we can expect human medicine to go the same way.

  • @khal3687

about $20,000... yeah, no comparison... makes me sad

  • @khal3687 a historectomy??? removing history? I need me one of those!
