@Aspergerqueen I can't see why. Dave Lizewski single-handedly saved a man's life and just about every word that pours from his mouth (and narration) is worth quoting. He's the only person fighting criminals without a personal vendetta and a character that you genuinely feel bad for when he gets publicly tortured, and it feels good when he redeems himself at the end.

It's true this movie was great. Fight scenes I could actually see, Nick Cage making me forgive his decline, and it was pretty funny too. My only complaint was that some of the effects were a bit bad at certian points. I know actors don't like being around fire, but there's ways to prevent being burned, and you don't need to have poor CGI fire as an alternative. Just a nitpick though.

On a side note I actually hope that girl Chloe keeps getting work. Unlike Disney actors she's actually GOOD.

Funny how they complain about the british actor, when this in fact is a BRITISH film. Director is british, the writer is british, most of the producers are british, the actors that play the main good guy (kick ass) and main bad guy (Frank D'amico) are british, it was shot mostly in Britain, it was funded independently by the directors britsh company and HECK even the comic was written by a brit.

@dcj28 My thoughts exactly. I think what they meant was, the story of the original comic takes place in New York, which means Dave Lizewski is American. I mean, even the splash page at the end of "Kick-Ass 2" issue one has the American flag hanging in the Justice Forever's secret headquarters. All in all, I don't care if a british actor plays an American character. As long as he's able to fit the role and bring the character to life, thats all I care. And isn't that the point of acting anyways?

I finally got around to seeing this movie. What I find really impressive is how it goes all over the place while entertaining you. It manages to poke fun at the superhero cliches (especially Batman and Spiderman), showing how silly the whole genre is, while admitting that the escapism is what draws everyone in to it. All at the same time. That takes talent. And balls.

Im not going to say this is Shite, or anything like that, iys just Im not into Superhero comedies with morals of what it means to be a real superhero or anything like that. I just like my Superhero movies to be straightforward action, serious, sensible plot/story I like them to have a little laugh and a Joke in them, but yeah thats it (So I guess Im boring), but there you go.
