  • It's called a 'partial', and has been around since the dawn of time to increase power. People need to do their homework. That's SIX HUNDRED pounds. Most couldn't get that off the hooks.

  • i dont understand y people use shirts.. wats the point of calling it a benchpress if the shirts make u lift more? someone please explain the meaning for the bench shirt thanku

  • you are crazy... ...this is pretty common exercise that helps you to build your triceps and lock out for a competition where shirts are allowed - pretty much every competition... ...if you think it is that much easier - well then try it... ...i do not workout with a shirt and i can do only about 10-20 more pounds with a plate... ...while wearing a shirt, it gives you more than that - but still i think that you need to do about 500 raw to press 600 with a shirt using a board...

  • yummy :)

  • good explosion!! what shirt are you wearing?? inzer?

  • all these people who hate are fuckin retarded. they dont know what it's like for us powerlifters to go through just to add a few lbs to our bench. Whether he uses a bench shirt or not, hes still strong as fuck. as the video description says, the block is for training purposes. It can also be called a board press, but for arguments sake, just stick with block. 3-5 boards work triceps/lockout. 1-2 boards help with getting the bar off the chest. different numbers of boards help different weak pts.

  • @OHWolves1694 I can guess how many needles you go through... 100's ! The only way to tell whats really on a bar is to do it in a sanctioned competition as I have personally seen people remove the 10 kg paint off of a rubber weight and then spray 20kg on it instead, then pretend to break a world record, all the time the guy concerned would never enter a real contest because he would have got annihilated by mediocre lifters.

  • @jfunkfinger69 do you even know what you're talking about? and nice steroid accusations. i'm only 16 you stupid asshole.

  • @OHWolves1694 Number 1 no need to call me asshole I was powerlifting 20 years before you were born. Number 2 having trained with 2 World Champions for many years and studied Bill Kazmaiers bench routines before you were even born makes me slightly more qualified to talk about powerlifting than you, my father was Scottish powerlifting champion for 13 years in a row before bench press shirts were invented and he still holds the masters record for his total which has stood over 20 years.

  • I dont see why all you guys keep hating, we do this in my weight training class and I can get about 250 with block. It's a legitimate workout and I can respect this video. If you cant, you obviously haven't lifted weights seriously.

  • hi mate i,am just starting to use the westside methods and they advocate the board press I,d like to know what it is supposed to do does it build strength at different depths of the bench please advise

    cheers

  • im sick of cheaters. all the way i find videos here about weak people working with great weights. do it without cheat and we"ll see how strong you are! dont cheat! you cheat in your exercise, you cheat on yourself.

  • I'm sick of internet wannabes. Get off YouTube and learn some English. Or better yet, get to the gym and post some videos of YOU lifting so the rest of us can have a good laugh.

  • how did he cheat????? plz tell me....

  • @laszlotuschinger Your right, bench press shirts and ridiculous technique arent really as impressive as Kazmaier doing a 300kg bench press in competition in the days when powerlifters were made to adhere to strict rules. titan500 its not personal but lets see you do a proper lift instead of massaging your ego !

  • @jfunkfinger69 - This was simply a training session, not massaging any egos. I have done many propers lifts in my day, I assure you. I was on the 2007 IPF Masters World Bench Press team, won 2007 USAPL Bench Press Nationals and was on the 2008 IPF Open Bench Press team. I would say I have a pretty good handle on what I am doing. Thanks for the feedback.

  • @titan500 I cant argue with that ! Sorry but you get so many people on here who never actually lift in competition and benching in the gym is a different story altogether, not many lifters are better in competition although true champions will always come through on the day under pressure. Congratulations on those wins and no offence meant.

  • ha u should see tank abbot benching 600lb he does it like a pice of cake

  • ya but he also bounces the shit outa the bar

  • wot do u mean??

  • First of all the guy looks like a chicken, the bar went down two inches and he bounced it off his board. Why not try reducing the weight and building yourself up. I hate it in the gym when you get guys who think they are bad dropping serious weight arching their backs etc etc

  • I didn't look so much like a chicken winning the 2007 USAPL Bench Press National Championship with a 639 lb bench or representing the USA at the IPF World Bench Press Championships in Prague Czech, Republic.

  • you serious bench shirt board an look like he only went down 2 inches what a sissy

  • Let's see what you can do, big boy. Oh, you don't have any videos, right? Keep building those forearm muscles typing crap on the internet.

  • thats not even a lift i hate people that lift off boards its so wack.

  • Hey parappa1023. You are correct. This is note a true competition lift, but if you read the description you would see this is a TRAINING lift. From looking at your youtube site, it is obvious that you know nothing about powerlifting or weightlighting in general. Boards are used for training purposes to get better by strengthening weakness at different ranges of motion. I hope you don't still "hate" me but I wanted you to be better informed before you devalued others accomplishments.

  • Cool, my dad 48 and he can still bench 475 LBS (no exaggeration whatsoever) and we work out together, I can only do 310 LBS (damnO

  • nice lift man but i would go with 2x6's you can hurt your self with 4x4's

  • Bench shirts can help lift an incredible amount of weight off you. I see shirts as cheating, cause if something other than the lifter lifts the weight then it's not right. If the shirt only lifs 1lb off you, thats 1lb you would'nt have had if not for the shirt. Therefore shirts ARE cheating.

  • 2 questions....does that bench press suit or whatever they call it help alot and if so where do you buy them because i can't find it any where...would be helpful if you answered ...thanks

  • Google search Titan Support Systems for the best bench shirts on the planet.

  • Yes, they help but only if you train with it and practice. Check out Inzer Advanced Designs web site or Titan.

  • Good strong workout! That's how to use the boards in training. Impressive.

  • look this is a 260kg plus bench press, its good. but your using a shirt...would of been even more impressive without one. why are they so many youtube boobs on here who know nothing bout weights, there should be a screening zone of no-one under a 400lb press can comment on videos.

  • What a pus you are asddfkfkfk. fk off goofball. It would be far less impressive if he WASN'T wearing a shirt because then he would look like the average nonuts weanie boy. Go back to your spandex spunklicker.

  • Nice lifting bro. Very classy of you to explain things to people who are not familiar with how powerlifters train. Some guys would have blown up and started with the defensive insults.

  • who calls it a block? its called a board press you queerbaits. And tank abbott bounces the bar PATHETICALLY. Check out the Ambassador of Strength (Wade Likens) kill a 3 board press with 605 lbs

  • the block is lame cheating

  • Give me a break! The block is for training purposes only. I do not claim that this is a legit bench press at all...just training. Check out my other videos, 570 bench press and 620 bench press for legit benches.

  • where do you buy that? i really need one

  • Go to Home Depot, buy a 2x6, and cut it in 15-18 segments. One segment alone is a 1-board. Screw two together and you have a 2-board. Three together equals a 3-board, etc.

  • Unimpressive. Look at the Tank Abbott video...now that's impressive.

  • Very niice, impressive. Whats the song in the background?

  • Thanks! The song is what just happened to be playing in the gym at the time, so I don't know the title. Sorry.

  • whats that long thing you have under your chin?

  • That is a 4x4 block that we use in training. It allows you to train partial ranges of motion and helps overload the top end of the press. The most I hae done off the 4x4 block is 705.

  • i agree. It was a class act of you titian500 to explain the purpose of what you were doing. let people hate, but more will remember and appreciate. keep going man keep going
