Dank. by what means of comparison do you think that "bodysurfing in general is very dangerous and...retarded," yet bodyboarding is not? I was a Wedge local for 5 years, and never felt half as frightened as I was the few times i tried a boogie board, and had the stupid thing to which I was tethered try to suck me over the falls. I prefer not to be attached to things which will try to injure me, but I don't sit in judgement on your choice to use a flotation device.

I'm sorry but anyone who says this takes balls is a complete moron. Bodysurfing in general is very dangerous and as far as i'm concerned retarded. Over the past couple days a man was killed at the wedge (google it if you dont believe me). i've been bodyboarding for years and the wedge is a freak of a wave. It gets up to 20-25ft and breaks right on the beach. This dumb ass in this video is lucky he did'nt break his neck.

The "dumbass" in this video is obviously an extremelly competent bodysurfer or he wouldnt have been able to catch a 18' wave in the first place. Get a clue kid there are all types of ways to ride waves and no one is better than the other. Out here in Hawaii people ride waves on everything from outrigger canoes to burger king lunch trays when they bodysurf. And there are just as many neck injuries at Sandy Beach on Oahu from boogie boarders as bodysurfers.
