Goju-ryu, a style of Okinawan karate. Ju-Jutsu - the name for the schools of Japanese martial systems (using the battle empty-handed.) Ju-jutsu is not karate, karate is not jiu-jitsu. it's different systems, but they can have general principles.
@OlegTakumi There is nothing in japanese jujutsu that is not in karate, you might even say there is nothing in karate that is not in japanese jujutsu. There is a reason almost every movement uses hikite, the "differences" are only prominent because of technique emphasis, not because they are different.
Technical application is not biased like people, what works in japan works on okinawa, korea, china, okinawa, etc... It's all the same, just different emphasis.
"Goju Ryu" is Japanese for 'hard-soft style'. When applied to Jiu-Jitsu, it becomes Goju Ryu Jiu-Jitsu, or The Hard-Soft style of Jiu-Jitsu. This can also be applied to Karate, thus becoming Goju Ryu Karate. I only ask because I took this style of Jiujitsu so many years ago (more than ten) and it looks a lot like it. I haven't heard anything more about it since so long ago and was wondering where it has appeared in the world. Thanks.
Great how the instructor chnages from one technic to the next. Subtitles ? I have never seen subtitles in english videos. So why in russian ones. Russian language seems to be easy to learn. The instructor itself in not of russian nationality. But he speaks russian fluently. He does both very self controlled. I mean his technics and his russian speach. I would like I could do both in the same way.
English subtitles are convienent because it is the universal language, not to mention this is an American website and most the people that use it are Americans who speak english. Most countries in the world learn english to some extent. If you have some Japanese guy watching this video, he can read english (Unless hes really old)
I agree with you English is a common language and english subtitles would be very helpful for a non russian visitor (OK I'm an exclusion). But I think it's not polite to compare the Russian language with Klingon. So let's wish english subtitles and let's except that there is more than one language in the world.
Well I didnt compare Russian to Klingon because... I dont know what that is... But anyway, I know there is more then one language in the world... I grew up speaking TWO, including english. As did many American people, so dont think were all ignorant stupid kids...
@GuamKomudo it's a language spoken in the fictional Star Trek universe.
FYI, my previous comment was meant to be a joke. It was not meant to demean the Russian people or their language, even though is seems that my attempt at humor was taken in the wrong context.

Ok I agree.
Furthermore the discussion seems a little bit pointless.
So I won't continue with this.
