Another thing whenever you open ur pump lid always closed ur valve so you don't lose suction if pool is below filter slab or if the opposite you don't flood out ur slab

@tboy221 That's usually done to assist in removing leaves or any other debris in the pool my helping it move towards the skimmer. I have a vid of our pool, you can see what i'm talking about.
@Sharkie626 thanks for the comment. im new to pool ownership. and videos i see say to circulate the water and eventually debris will make its way to the skimmer or sink and vacuumed. plus the water should be circulated for filtering right. my last comment meant that filtering water that just got filtered. i will look at your video and maybe learn something new
Just love how all the so-called professionals tell you it Has to be on the suction side. My air bubbles were caused by bad o-rings in the chlorinator on the PRESSURE side. Apparently a Venturi effect created suction.
@tech2rescue I think he was also trying to say that if you have lots of air also in your pump strainer, then that usually means it is on the suction side. (unless you happened to have a lot of air there too)
the jandy valve oring can also suck air. Can't tell you how many times I've got to a job, saw air in the trap and just tightened the jandy screws and the air stopped.
Thanks a million. I just installed my pump, and could not get it to prime. After viewing this video I checked my lines leading to the pump, and sure enough, one union o-ring was not seated right.
We had the same problem. the local pool supply company ( Club Piscine)said that we had to change our sand for $ 200 odd dollars. They couldn't undo the filter. They suggested we buy a new filter. Then I found your video. We changed the O-ring on the filter and checked the O-ring at the union. . Using a ratchet I tightened all the clamps on the suction side and it fixed the air problem. I also saved hundreds of dollars. Thanks again.
I don't have air bubbles, I have FOAM like a bubble bath. I've NEVER encountered this problem! I use Bacquacil. Can too much algaecide cause this? Again, this has NEVER occured.
Yes too much algecide could cause the foam you're encountering. Algecide is essentially soap so you can see why your getting an unexpected bubble bath. You can either wait and it will subside in a few days, or if it's a major problem you could by a foam illiminating chemical from a pool store.
This video is great because air bubbles area common occurence with pools, especially when the are opened for the season. Just with advice in this video pool owners will eliminate service calls, save money, and have better pool filtration. Great video Jason!
