  • God Atlantis was dumb as hell...

  • Drones are just really awsome xD

  • i like this song

  • What is name of this song ?

  • i used to like the aurora class untill i found out it was uneven (big fat thing hanging on the right side of the ship).

  • sg u was actualy starting to get good, watch it on netflix all the way through you will find last few episodes show awesomeness etc

oh fyi atlantis was good to but i think at this point they have it all set up for the next series to not just resurect both series but also provide a bridge between them, perhaps a time traveling mini series that sets some events in motion, or a back log of what the ancients did while launching destiny and preparing for travel etc it really was geting good

  • con letra de los antiguos al final... un buen toque

  • Drowning Pool is one of the most overused bands on youtube videos..and that just ruined the whole video...

  • @Tract05 you forget 009 sound system

  • I can understand if people are adding music to videos of games they've recorded. But why add music to an actual video that was there to begin with?

  • At 2:48 what episode was that?

  • Wow, you took a decent video and ruined it with shitty cancer-ridden music

  • Good video, shitty music....just post the video clip without making a damn music video.

  • join the fight to save stargate on facebook, its been growing with thousands of followers each day... SAVE STARGATE UNIVERSE and lets show SYFAIL that they can't replace good television with wrestling and cooking shows

  • @SoundtechJ Universe failed. SGA won't ever get renewed, and they've already struck every set that was ever used for SG-1, SGA, and that abortion called SGU. It's over, thanks to those idiot producers.

  • why! why! did they not tried to salvage at least one aurora class from replicators. They only needed one hack or remote controlling virus or something or to beam and commandeer....! Why!!! ?

  • @pacal007 all those ships in orbit, they could have blind jumped away from the planet with over 10 of them in good condition, ah well, they have Daedalus class who needs old tech

  • @pacal007 because that would of made them to powerful and the producers and writers would have to come up with a reason why they couldnt just get ride of the wraith, thats why the antiant ship they did have got destroyed

  • It's so sad I still watch SGA on Netflix. I loved that show so much.

  • What episode (or season) is that at 3:02?

Nice work, but the music does not fit as well. :D

  • @7514Shades episode is "may all my sins' be remember'd"

    season.....4 i think of atlantis

  • @MammothStar

    Thank you very much. ;)

  • love drowing pool

  • OMG! Dont do that to me, I thought I'd gone def!

  • What song is? and group...

  • @andruxkent Drowning Pool - All over me

  • dobry video ale ty dve minut proc uz tam neni hudba jinak dobry

  • @gnight28 season 4 I don't know this exact episode hope it helps

  • 2:49 nooooooooooooooooooooooooo I know it was a copy made by the replicators but still

  • I hate when people add a shit song to a wonderful video!!!

  • omg i want one of theese big ships (aurora i guess) bi the way what episode and season was this scene in 2:28 ?

  • Nice dr Keller scene

  • shitty music for such an amazing video.

  • Seriously this music is not only crap it doesn't suit the show either.

  • I miss atlantis.. )=

  • @YamoxD yes !!! they gota make more eposodes i miss them to

  • Anyone who likes these type of space-battles, and play PC-games, i strongly recommend a game called X3 - Terran Conflict. That game is exactly like these battles, only much better looking. Do some research on it, the game is HUGE by any measure. I spent about 6months playing it everyday, and i still haven't beaten it.

    Its is simply amazing.

  • Aurora class blattle ship and Atlantis are the best with puddlejumpers and drone chairs.

  • music cuts out 3:09

  • good that you remove the music before the end

  • Ancient weapons rule especially drones

  • The music does suck!!!!

  • @MegaFred55 it does when it ends

  • they need like a atlantis stratagy game

  • How did you get the Ancient translation?

  • good job řikal to i hájek

  • good video,bad music

  • i think the people who make Stargate could do better when ever the team gets a ship its always ruined or someone steals it then crashes it! other wise ARURA CLASS RULES!

  • @seethebob Lol I know! every single time! Also that when they COULD have gotten a hold of multiple Aurora class during the destruction of the replicator planet, they didn't v.v I didn't watch the whole episode so IDK if they didn't choose to do it or because the writer decided not to let them, but that sucked!!!

  • When you really think about it the battle tactics are really basic. It's like watching a Napoleonic ship vs ship broad side cannon fight.

  • shit music

  • god i hate people who ad music to a good show.. just use original content shit

  • @IRONMAIDENFAN2006

I agree try to find a space battle to watch and you're taken out of the experience by awful music

  • @IRONMAIDENFAN2006 I completely agree! It's like painting flames on the side of a ferrari. It was just fine until you screwed with it... You've actually devalued it with your "personal touch..."

  • @IRONMAIDENFAN2006 Stop bitching... you dont like it? fuck off and die... I doubt he gives a flying fuck about what YOU think, if you want it YOUR way, maybe you should make it yourself... or maybe you could go to burger king.... fucking nerd

  • @IRONMAIDENFAN2006 then jsut mute the song

  • Comment removed

  • @IRONMAIDENFAN2006 If he did use the original content MGM would remove it.

  • @IRONMAIDENFAN2006 they wil delete it for copyrights nidwit!

  • can anyone tell me if their is going to be a new season or a movie at least i really would like to see more.

  • I miss atlantis so much. SGU is good but it cant replace SG1 or Atlantis

  • I love Human ship based on Agar technology, and better this with asgard core Deadalus type is awesome ships , No one in milky way can stop tauri to dominate the sector Lucain aliance lose figth and wraith had no chance to defed human fleet...i still dont understand why human dont start conolization

  • @Dreddenoth its all about secrecy they dont want the public to panic, i mean put the whole earth on the Stargate program and have a fleet of asguard 304's super fast, humans could easily dominate the galaxy and beyond.

  • @TerranRedsky yes but i think but they noe can say to people that there is any others life forms, other alien cywilizations, stop secrets if you see SG:Uniwerse they must tell about situations in galaxy...

  • @Dreddenoth If you keep watching Stargate and it's spin offs, despite the tech advantage, the Lucian Alliance is still dangerous, and it is currently in control of Destiny (A highly advanced though poorly maintained ship traveling the universe launched by the Ancients)

  • @ransac16 Yes but i think they need to tell all about this situation in galaxy, as yo usee end og SG:Atlantis whole city londing somewhere near a big city ( sanfrancisco ? i dont rember what it be ) is hardto hide them even in invisiblity, it is a qwestion of time to tell whole earth abaut aliens, and start colonization. in Sg:1 they make only second military base named alpha-bete etc. icarus base is somtin like this... ech i to bad in english to explain my point of wiev

  • @Dreddenoth Technically they've already had colonization. The Goa'uld moved em and they built new homes on different worlds.

  • @ransac16 It is no longer in control. Even a month ago as of your post.

  • @ransac16 It is no longer in control. Even a month ago as of your post.

  • @ransac16 destiny wasn't poorly maintained, it wasn't maintained at all, it's older than Atlantis itself, hell it's gate it's older than the gates on Milky way galaxy. the fact that it was still able to run after all that time was a miracle.

  • @Dreddenoth

because all the operation is classified. if they try to start colonisation, it would be disastrous.

  • stupid video and fucks it up more with the song.

  • the 1 at 0:01 looks a litle like the prometheus from stargate sg1 allso the shots at 0:27 looks a litle like the ancient super weapon that destroyded anubis fleet above earth in stargate sg1 i think i might enjoy stargate atlantis just as mush as i have enjoyed stargate sg1 ohh 1 more thing if you havent seen stargate sg1 i sugest you see it its really entertanig reply if you have somting to say (srry 4 broken english)

  • @Hornetization It's not the Prometheus it's the Odyssey. That wasn't even from the SG-1 series. Haven't you seen anything from SG: Atlantis? Those aren't Ancient "super weapons" they're Drones. As far as the Ancients go they're pretty ordinary.

  • You know, why didn't the Ancients just move their fair city. take it to a planet the wraith didnt know about or was very far away stockpile millions of drones build a massive stronghold and they could never loose! It wouldn't even take that long to build if they got the replicators to do the building!

  • the giant ancient ship is called aurora......1:31 you can see it or her........

  • @icewood96 The Aurora never went into battle. Sheppard activated its Self-Destruct to destroy two Wraith Cruisers nearby. That was an Asuran Replicator ship of the same class as the Aurora you saw.

  • Ancient weapons are the best, you have to admit that!

  • Drones are multikiloton weapons, it explains why they can destroy a hive with 30 or 40.

  • P.S.: Played a Stargate Mod (Starwars Empire at War Forces of Corruption) and it was great. Got the Ancient Ship Aurora for Tauri, and Ori Ship for Goa'uld. BY the end II hate closer to 30 Odyssey-Class ships. Was awesome!

  • I don't know about you guys... but I just <3 using the mute button!

  • if stargate was all battles i would still love it

  • " a good trick is to get them to shoot at eachother"- luitenant kernal sheapeard. i dont suppose that the wraith would settle for the tim hortons breakfast sandwhich?

  • @novantha1 >'luitenant kernal sheapeard"

What? Too lazy to use spell check? None of those words even exist in English. What Language Setting do you have in your browser? Czech or Polish? Never seen the words "Lieutenant" or "Colonel" in O Canada?

  • great music!!!!!!

  • i wish in SG-A they took the aurora-class designs and made one in earth or maybe another planet which they control and just change the weapons system and shielding systems

    drones = missiles

    lasers = rail guns

    sum asgard lasers perhaps

  • Héllooo

  • drones just cut up every thing and for some resin what ever gets cut explodes.

  • whats name this song?

  • PRCS Sun Tzu photo ????

  • @quimera1994 No onscreen time, just dialogue reference, such as in last Episode.

  • ohhhh ok :) :) @MacGyverinSpace

  • the ancients must have been super awesome.

think about it, they have been gone for 10.000 years or more, and still their technology kick`s ass. The wraith`s havent managed to get better technology than them in 10.000 year, neither did the goa`uld. Which means that they where either super super super good, or the others suck :P

  • What is it with youtubers and these videos? Why does every montage like this have some bleeding ears song over top of it rather than just the sound affects? One or two would be alright, but EVERY single one? Wtf?

  • @Poviddy Because if they didn't scrub the original sound and just joined ordinary video clips, theyed get done for copy right

  • what's the artist and the song I can answer on my page

  • u forgot the

Aurora from the antiker they have found in atlantis but is Destroyed

  • To be honest, the music ruined it... =(

  • Honestly, people seem to post clips with the music they hear in their minds when they watch the same clip, forgetting their own take is subjective and may not appeal to all. Why not post this and let me create my own crappy music video in my head, as god intended. Aerosmith once said music videos were the worst idea ever as it took away the movie we all make in our own heads for songs we like and replaced them with 1 vision.

  • I FUCKING HATE THIS MUSIC!

  • not bad, exept for losing the music half way through, not bad :-)

  • Actualy i think its a little bit wierd that "the ancients" lost the war aginst the Wraith because they got some extreme weapons. Like the drones that can tear a ship appart. xD

  • @Unlimited9493 yeah but they probebly had the Replicators against them to

  • the reason is why the anchients lost the war was becouse they didn't have time 2 build all their weapons couse the wraith were always attacking them so eventually they gave up and sunk the city but i don't get it why they didn't make alot of drones when they were sunk and zpm's and then move 2 a different planet for fleet building :D well i think i remember rodney saying somethin like that well not the res part tho lol :D thats from me :)

  • the Wraith were using the there weapons, only reason why they won the war was because of numbers

  • @Unlimited9493 thay where vastly out numberd

  • @Unlimited9493 They were only defeated because they were vastly outnumbered

  • @Unlimited9493 They lost due to their lack of numbers and the fact that the wraith have these massive hive bases that could make tons and tons of wraith in a very short amount of time by using ZPM's that the Ancients themselves originally built, in essence, they got destroyed by a massive fleet that was created using their own power supplies.

  • @OrangeTang666 It was hinted that that was part of the reason, no one ever said it was the sole reason the Wraith won. The Wraith were a much simpler species with essentially a complete lack of morals. Probably over half of their race(the masked-looking-ones) are essentially slaves for war. I would say probably over half of the Ancients were science-types. On top of that, the Ancients were probably caught off guard by the Wraith, and the Wraith were probably pretty well aware of them.

  • @tribbleq I agree that the wraith are more warlike however I disagree that the ancients lossing can be atributed to them being caught off guard. The war lasted 100 years, they obviously weren't still suprised 20 years in. To me it seems that the wraith won largely through their ability to counter the ancients technologlically. Note they can hold a replicator captive, block beam transport within days of seeing it, test for the Hofen drug within a few years. Their science isn't to be overlooked.

  • @Unlimited9493

In case you decided to ignore Stargate lore, the Ancients lost because of numbers. The wraith could "grow" their ships in a matter of months, and the Ancients could probably only build one or two ships in a year. The wraith were also able to clone their own soldiers after they used a ZPM.

  • @Sunblazeer The ancients had dozens of worlds to build ships from, the SGC can build 1 ship a year each ancient world could probably build 10 or more in that time. There's nothing to say they couldn't have built ships even more powerful than an Aurora either. Powered by 2 or more ZPMs a dreadnaught type could have held it's own under constant fire for days before needing to withdraw. The only solution is that the wraith could somehow circumvent even these powerful ships.

  • @BlueGlowingLight4 They may could had produced more ships, but they did not have enough manpower and had difficulty bolstering their numbers. On the other hand, with captured ZPM's the Wraith used cloning facilities and shipyards to constantly produce fleets.

So it ended up as a war of attrition, the much fewer Ancient forces fighting endless waves of Wraith.

  • @Cordar Yeah but the ancients had had millions of years to populate the galaxy. and even if their numbers were so low that they couldn't reasonably crew 1000 Auroras I'm sure they could have recruited from the human populations for positions that didn't require the ancient gene.

The wraith also indicate that before their emergance the galaxy had many planets with billion+ populations. It seems unlikely that the Ancients suffered from manpower issues.

  • @BlueGlowingLight4 The regular Human populations probably was not even advanced enough to resist the Wraith. And almost every advanced species are extremely reluctant to even teach others how to use equipment far ahead of their own. Other point is that by capturing ZPM's, the Wraith managed to grow the numbers to spread across the galaxy, enabling them to face Humans and Ancients on a much wider front than they could reliably defend.

  • @Cordar The Travelers and presumably other Human populations operated hyperspace capable ships. The Genii are said to have controled a vast empire. It isn't unreasonable to believe that these people could have been recruited even as shock troops to defend facilities etc from ground assault. They could have used their own weapons in that function.

The large populations of wraith would probably get tied down fighting vast human ground armies through the stargates IMO.

  • @BlueGlowingLight4 Many of the civilizations shown in the series, including the Travelers and the Genii developed after that war.

And no matter the resistance, the Wraith maintained a production capability much greater than all of their enemies by multiple orders of magnitude. Combine that with the Wraith's fearlessness and willingness to give their lives to defeat their enemies by all means necessary. The Ancients and Humans were completely overwhelmed.

  • @Cordar assume the Wraith were able to clone 1million new troops each day. thats about a 3 years to create a billion, by the end of the war assuming no casulties they would have about 33 billion troops. If there were a 100 worlds with a potential combat population of 1 billion each defending then they would most likely still outnumbered the Wraith by the end of 100 years.

Also the wraith prevent technological development thus the Humans would have been at their height befor ethe war.

  • @BlueGlowingLight4 They may did not outnumber the Human in sheer population size, but they certainly heavilly outnumbered their armies.

And them limiting the technology development of other cultures are logical in that they want keep their food supply easily accessible and to maintain their dominance. The Goa'uld also maintained similar habits of destroying advanced cultures.

  • @Cordar Yes the armies may not have been as large but If a bunch of aliens landed here and tried to suck the life out of me and mine I'd fight back in a milisha.

I limiting the tech is logical my point was that the Travelers must have had hyperdrive tech before their world was conquered or the Wraith would have prevented it.

Also the Genii have massive bunkers built for wars long since past in which they hid once the wraith came. I wonder what kind of weapons would require such bunkers. Nukes?

  • @BlueGlowingLight4 They swarm enemies with darts, using culling beams to gather victims. Gathered people can't resist. The Wraith got no civilians, while the majority of Human society have to do other tasks and have little combat training, much less guns.

And the bunkers used by the Genii were very small, they only expanded into massive city bunkers after the latest culling. And bunkers are older than nukes to begin with.

  • @Cordar what do you mean the latest culling the Genii had been down there since the wraith first emerged. Only a token population lives on the surface. Yes the Genii are only just building nukes but it is possible the knowledge was lost/forgotten over the centuries.

There is ultimatly insuficient info to accuratly detail how the wraith won but by my calculation they did not win by numbers alone. I have shown before that wraith tech is not to be looked down at.

  • @BlueGlowingLight4 They have shown great skill in overcoming technology barriers. But all facts stated in the series point towards that the main reason the Ancients lost is because no matter how many battles they won, the Wraith kept coming in endless tidal waves.

  • @Cordar Yes and the purpose of my statements is to show that the creators didn't think that through very well. Bear in mind i was being generous when I said 1 million clones a day that facility seemed like it could roduce many thousands but i'd be skeptical of it producing more than a million a week.

It was the wraiths ability to adapt and counter ancient tactics and the ancients own lack of agressivness that won the war for the wraith. More so i feel than numbers.

  • @BlueGlowingLight4 Actually, no. The Ancients grew too confident and agressive at the start of the war, which eventually led the Wraith to be able to capture ZPM's to power their cloning facilities and shipyards. From there and whole way through the rest of the war, the Wraith relied almost entirely on sheer force of numbers.

  • @Cordar The ancientes were confident in their tech, it never states they were agressive merely that in their confidence they felt they could get away with penetrating Wraith held space.

  • @BlueGlowingLight4 And the series have already made it clear that the Genii forged their empire before in between the two latest cullings, the latter which destroyed them except a small number that hid in the original small bunkers which were originally created for wars amongst themselves and other Human cultures.

  • @Cordar I don't recall that but I'm too tired to look it up right now.

I'll leave you with this. A single Ancient ship armed with 2 ancient beam weapons and powered by 2 ZPMs could defend a planet against a hundred hiveships. A drone platform like the one on earth could also defend an entire planet from hundreds of hives. A world under threat of invasion would devote as much energy as needed to create sufficiant numbers of drones.

  • @BlueGlowingLight4 But it did not matter how powerful their ships were, eventually they were overcome by the Wraith's sheer numbers. It is a fact stated by an Ascended Ancient which were posing as a teaching program in Atlantis. The Ancients won almost every battle, but they saw no way to win the war.

  • @Cordar Once their world was defended against wraith attack they could have used nanite tech to build and crew new ships on the planet. from there they simply had to establish outposts on other worlds and defend them against invasion. The point is that the war would have been far more complex than merely weight of numbers.

  • @BlueGlowingLight4 No, they never used nanites in such a way, they only used it to try and produce a weapon against the Wraith, resulting in the creation of the Asurans. Which resulted in failure. The Wraith was only hinted deployed advanced tactics in the beginning of the war when the Ancients held the advantage. But ever since they aquired the ZPM's, all they needed to win the war was to perform a veritable endless galaxy sized zerg rush.

  • @Cordar But the Nanites in the replicators build ships themselves, all the ancients would need to do is build the nanites and supply them withenough power to getr started.

The Galaxy is vast with cloaking tech the ancients could have set up shop anywhere. they could have build entire fleets crewed by relicators in secret and launched a counter strike 100 yeas later. All they need to do is make sure they have one Aurora or better per hive.

  • @BlueGlowingLight4 Yes, the Replicators built the ships by themselves, exclusively by themselves. It was in no way intended by their creator. The Ancients and by extension, the Asurans didn't.

Why is it you insist on imagining on scale of manpower which the Ancients did not even have?? Their fleet was very small compared to what the Wraith possessed at their very peak.

  • @Cordar The Asurans are the replicators. The ancients knew the replicators could build such structures left to their own devices they'd watched it happen on Asuras.

I insist on this train of thought because if you were faced with anihilation you would do everything in your power to prevent it. If they had built a replicator force (less agressive more aimed at building automated defences) they could have fortified world after world and choked the wraith food suply.

  • @BlueGlowingLight4 And yet they are very different in goals, motivations, purpose and tactics. The Replicators was by and large an accident, not at all intended.

Yet they never used it like that. Since such things was innovated by the later appearing Replicators in their constant hunt for materials. The Ancients operated along strict codes and laws. One of them invented a time machine, but as a whole they refused to deploy it. The Wraith weren't bound by such limitations.

  • @Cordar I was meaning the Pegasus Replicators not the SG-1 kind.

The ancients had no problem using the replicators as soldiers (until they started killing humans/got shut down). I see no reason they would create a law that prevented them using the tech as a a tool of construction. And to pilot the heavily shielded/armed construction vessels to new worlds. Providng the programing was edited to ensure human safety etc. there would be no risk.

  • @BlueGlowingLight4 No, the nanites that made up the Asurans was intended to be a virus. But instead they developed Human form, deployed Ancient technology and sought ascension. The Ancients destroyed them. They survived and tried to fight the Wraith, which stopped them with a virus of their own.

So understand, using nanites to build ships and defensive installation was innovations exclusive to the later Replicators.

And no amount of programming can stop plain Human error.

  • @Cordar That's a pretty big assumption, so far as I was aware the wraith disabled the replicators causing them to become useless. There was no reason to destroy their planet if they were still going to fight the wraith. They could still have been a valuable asset in the war. Besides the Human form Asurans had already emulated Ancient tech before they were destroyed so the ancients were aware it could be done.

  • @BlueGlowingLight4 It is logical for Humans to think that way. The construction of Asurans and Replicators are actually very different, the form is made out of nanites and the latter out of blocks. It might had been possible that they could had won the war if they used Replicators.. but in the end, they never thought about it. The Replicators was created ages after the war ended anyway.

  • @Cordar look I'm not talking about he SG-1 Block replicators, when I have mentioned replicators I have used it as synominous with Asuran, ok. I'm saying that if they had used the Nanite tech to build the defences, ships & crews then they could have fortified the worlds as stated. They knew that the replicators could manufacture ancient tech as they had done so on Asuras. it was short sightedness on the part of th eAncients to overlook such a valuable (and tireless) resource.

  • @BlueGlowingLight4 But they never did and never would, that is not their way. They avoid conflict and only keep a small fleet for self defence. And the Asurans was doomed to be destroyed anyway, since they asked or rather begged the Ancients to remove their aggressive programming since it stood in the way for their ascension.

  • @Cordar using a rapid construction tecnique to defend against imminet death "is not their way". sounds a little dim if you ask me.

As for the Asurans, even with their agressive programing rmoved or dialed back they would still be an asset able to help crew/build the Ancient defences.

  • @BlueGlowingLight4 Fact remains they never thought of it. And the rapid construction technique you suggest was invented by the Replicators long after the war.

  • @Cordar They did. They tried several measures they could think of, but they either catastrophically backfired, failed or had extremely undesirable side effects. In the end, a war of attrition was all they could do. They tried to negotiate, but it failed. So with no means of winning the war, they left Pegasus.

  • @Cordar You are here referring to technical plans for weapons that failed to perform rather than an overall stategy. My plan of letting the Asuran-like builders replicate and build for them requires no new input from the Ancients once the programming is done. It uises only existing tech and ultimatly generates its own power (once the nanites build a ZPM)

  • @BlueGlowingLight4 Their entirely a scientific society. They always ended up fleeing whenever a conflict rose. And they have never had any real infighting since their conflict with the Ori, which they fled from as well. Untill the Wraith pinned them against a wall. They most likely had very little in the ways of strategy. They relied heavily on the weapons they created to prevail.

  • @Cordar Do you have any evidence for that at all?

The replicators had already built themselves a substantial civilisation is my evidence that they har rapid construction. What is yourt basis for assuming they don't?

  • @BlueGlowingLight4 Because of the fact that the Wraith easily cooked up a virus that basically told the Asurans to stay put? And even if they produced the ships, the Ancients did not have the manpower to crew them. They were deemed a failure and were destroyed. You are constantly assuming that the Ancients had armies which they did not even have.

  • @BlueGlowingLight4 And the Asurans largely imitated their creators. They more likely built their civilization the conventional way. The reason for the Asurans managing to build so much is because they require no rest. They could keep working as much as needed and for as long as required.

  • @Cordar Actually there is a way around it although it too takes a bit of twisting to make sense. It is possible that the wraith built super hives during the war. These would have rivaled the ancient warships and allowed them to overcome most defences. However, the super hive would all have to have been destroyed along with all who knew how to integrate ZPMs into hiveships as that knowledge is unavaliable to the wraith until they aquire it in s5.

  • @BlueGlowingLight4 They didn't. Such a thing was only innovated towards the end of Stargate: Atlantis. The ZPM's they aquired were limited in number.. integrating them with Hive ships would had been an irreplaceable loss if they were destroyed. No, using them for their facilities were much more logical to a Hive based society.

  • @Cordar I think you're missing my point. That with even a remote sense of inovation the Ancients could have pulled their acorns out of the fire. unless something beyond weight of numbers was involved.

If I'm lossing my planets one by one I'd go somewhere hidden a remote moon and build up from there. The only reason the story is lie that is because the creators wanted to have bad guys who'd kicked the ancients. Logically the ancients had every oppertunity to win.

  • @BlueGlowingLight4 The Ancients was inevitably pressed into a corner, that is undisputable by Stargate canon. They did not have any real opportunity to win, the Wraith attained total dominance across most of the galaxy, and the Ancients had absolutely no idea where the Wraith managed to reinforce their numbers. If they tried again to go on the offensive, they'd end up in the same situation eventually as Atlantis did.

  • @Cordar Yes they could be backed against planets, but once a world is fortified so that even a thousand hives at once couldn't take it they could move on to fortifying the next. eventually every human inhabited world would have become a fortress that the Wraith couldn't penetrate. It doesn't matter how many troops they have if they're all starving. In short I could have given them a tactic that would have won them the war in a few decades.

Just because it's canon doesn't mean it makes sense.

  • @BlueGlowingLight4 They did not have the manpower nor the production capability to fortify worlds like that. Neither did they have the time. And it have been constantly proven over the series that giving much more advanced technology to primitive natives will only lead said natives destroying themselves.

  • @Cordar The natives Don't have to know it's there, It could be lunar based or on a remote island. as for man power that's where the replicator tech comes in. They build a construction fleet on one world and use it to fortify another, then another and so on. The ancients themselves don't even have to leave atlantis while the builder fleet moves around fortifying worlds and using their resources to build more constuction ships, ZPMs, defences & replicators.

  • @BlueGlowingLight4 And later the natives would eventually find out about them and come to different conclusions about the purposes.. brilliant, now they have to fight both the Wraith and Human populations mistaking the Ancient defenses as signs of aggression.

  • @Cordar Haha, i'm sure they would probably defeated the wraith before that became an issue besides a bit of simple deplomacy could resolve the misunderstanding. Or the simple fact that these worlds were being ravaged by the wraith then all of a sudden these bright yellow things appeared and defended them. It seems more likely that the ancient defences would be seen as an increidible gift than a threat. Or the ancents could dismantle them after the Wraith war was over.

  • @BlueGlowingLight4 The Russians did not like the US plans to place a missile shield in Europe even though it was intended for a different enemy. Why should a diplomatic mission clear up the reason for a super advanced weapons that could wipe out the locals if they tried to resist invasion and occupation?

  • @Cordar Yes but the difference is that the Russians and the US are long term rivals. Also the missile didn't protect Russia.

In comparison the naitves are vastly less superior and beign assailed by a deadly enemy, they would likely be glad of the protection. Perhapse some decades after the war if the defences were still in place there may be tensions but in the short term at least for a few years after the Wraith attacks ceased the ancients would be in good favour with the natives

  • @BlueGlowingLight4 They'd be suspicious anyway, what's to say that the Ancients would not suddenly turn those weapons against the locals?

But in the end, the Ancients were never a belligerent faction. they were peaceful and only kept a small fleet for self defense. They think completely in a different manner, never seeing any reason to maintain large armies and fleets. In the end, this bit them in the ass in the war with the Wraith where the enemies sheer number won the war.

  • @Cordar What's to say I won't kick my flatmate in the nuts tomorrow, nothing but it's not in my nature. He knows it I know it so he isn't weary of my foot.

Yes the ancients maintained a relatively small fleet but you'd think after 50 years of escalating warfare they might have realised that such a small fleet wasn't working for them.

  • @BlueGlowingLight4 What is logical to a Human is unreasonable in the long run to an Ancient. And they did not have the production capability nor the manpower anyway to maintain a large fleet.

But regardless how much we argue, the fact remains steadfastly that the Wraith won the war through overwhelming numbers. They trapped the Ancients in a war of attrition, something which they were never geared towards.

  • @Cordar yes that is what canon says.

Though I still contest that even the dimmest military power would have built their own secret bases from which to build up strength.

  • @Unlimited9493 the lost beacause they were outnumenberd and the wratih kept coming to matter how much the ancients throw at then and there drone weapons where almost eampty

  • @Unlimited9493 Wrath had Numbers By the Billions

  • @Unlimited9493 gues the wraith stole a few Z.P.M things from the Lantean's when the wraith were losing.

with those Z.P.M's they made clones and were able to build up the wraith army again and that was one of the reasons why the Lanteans lost the war and had to abonden Pegasus and fall back to the Milky way galaxy
