Sgt Pepper is their worst album. It became great because 1. they were now so well-known, 2.McCartney´s ever PR for himself, 3.George Martin´s PR for himself.
Just same arrangements were innovative.
The melodies in the album A Hard Day´s Night, and the singles (most Lennon`s) before Yesterday are far more innovative.
I listened to the whole "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" album for thousand of times and watched the Let's Play of the SNES game "EarthBound" for thousand of times, but only realized the beat in this song was sampled in the game just about a week ago! LOL
@samuelramsbottom You honestly think how can you beat this stonking rock and roll but you can with a Day in the Life. THEY ARE THE GREATEST BAND EVER NO DOUBT!

@metafis sounds like something that would be sampled in a remix on whatever you call those radio stations that play all the modern music stations that play the cool mixtape mix stuff on Fridays and Saturdays.
@88mphsss Yep, it has been used for one. The Dust Brothers sampled this song (from 0:05-0:12) as well of a sample from The Beatles' The End from Abbey Road in the Beastie Boys track Sounds of Science off their album Paul's Boutique (1989). I hated Paul's Boutique but love Sounds of Science (a) because it's just a fun song, and (b) because I recognized both samples as soon as I heard them.
@CARASSAR Um... this was definitely released in 1967, and @88mphsss was saying that this was progressive for its time, not that this is a rap song, so I'm not sure what you're on about.
@c4r50n1 never will. this song isn't one of those pieces of art that become outdated with time. i swear without the Beatles music would never sound like it does now.
Funny, but when folks discuss the Beatles they NEVER mention just how 'heavy' that opening guitar is on this very track. Muddy and aggressive at the same time. Makes me think - like 'Helter Skelter' and the intro to 'Revolution' - that these four guys could have sounded just as dirty and as nasty as Cream if they had just limited themselves to guitar, guitar, bass and drums for one album.
I have included your video for explanations at harigeorgeson [dot] com - the best of George and the Beatles you might haven't known yet....

@moledemolisha61 Like I said, they're like two different types of songs. I kinda like the original a little better, though. I think they put more feeling into that one. Don't get me wrong tho, they're both awesome songs.
