this video is early eighties, the 952 appeared only in the nineties (1982) at Le Mans and the 962 in 1986 and by the way the clip is called 917 - Le Mans
This video is early eighties, correct so far. The 956 was produced 82--84 which I would call eighties..fits
The 917 against was used from the late sixties till middle of the seventies.
Least of all this can be a 917/30 which you mentioned with the 1500hp. The 917/30 was a spyder, so it had no windscreen and no normal roof. Very different than what you see in the video, don't you think?
also look at the cars around in the video. The don't fit into the 917 era.
This is a 956 from the early 80's as you can see by the Le Mans track layout and hear from the turbo dump on gear shifts and decelleration Great video though! I wonder who was driving?
Gearbox is actually turbo spinning

the steering wheel is on the wrong side

no all Porsche race prototypes have the steering wheel on the right side, because most tracks are clockwise.

The car featured is the 1983 Le Mans winning 956 being driven by Derek Bell..
The 917/30 was a Flat 12 single turbo developing 1100bhp. :)

The real race, Can Am at Le Mans, the old unlimited back in 1972 would be the ultimate race, probably resulting in death :-(.

No...The highest outputted 917 Coupe was like 900HP.
The 917/10 (canam car, twin turbo flat 12) made 1200HP.
THIS VIDEO is a Porsche 956. Which makes around 700HP, from a flat 6 twin turbo.
And the Porsche 917K Ran from 1970-1971. I belive the 917/10 lasted till 1973 till it was banned.
This video is from the mid 80's (1983-whatever)

It could also be Gijs van Lennep or Helmuth Marko, winners of the 1971 Le Mans 24 hours in a 917

That is NOT a 917. It is most definitely a 956 or 962
