hey when u turned up the boost, did u ever have a problem with boost dropping above 6k rpms? i have mine set to spike 15 and run 14.. but it usually falls back to 12psi...
upgrades: megan split DP's, full 2.5" b&B exhaust, intake, turbologic MBC, ztuner chip, . any helpwould be awesome.. i know the turbo's are small.. but dam even if it's just a matter of upgrading the factory smic's that would be awewsome
hey guys maybe someone here has had this problem or knows a solution. I am doing the tt conversion, and the engine is jdm and its rebuilt fresh. the injectors are the old style venom 550cc. Ok so heres the issue when i turn my CAS the fuel pump comes on and builds pressure(i made sure it was) but my injectors don't click none of them. i can spray gas in the intakes and it will idle and sound perfect but my injectors are non responsive. any ideas guys?? any input appreciated.
@corydoucen - I know you probably did but did you change the ECU? Also on the wiring harness near the ECU there is an injector controller. Might wanna check that out.
@irishboxer92 - You charge the system with air. And then you spray the soapy water on all pressurized surfaces and fittings. Mix the soap heavy and wherever you have a leak it will bubble profusely where leaking.
Its near the brake master cylinder. Its up high close to where the hood closes. Its a very small box with a single vacuum line running to it, you can't miss it.
@scbca my 84 had a slipping tranny, holes in the floor, leaking gas tank, shitty motor (it was dogged with last owner), and fading paint but damn it looked good :') After I sold it to a school and they restored it anyway.

The tiny stock turbos spool up instantly and break traction which is why the rpms and mph jump up then fall back down once the car regains traction. I wish it could break loose like that on a dyno! You would also have a hard time finding someone to let you drive like that on a 30,000+ dollar piece of equipment.

Oh sorry, I misread what you were saying. PSI means how many "pounds per square inch" of pressure. In this case my turbos where forcing enough air into the engine that it built up 11psi of pressure inside the intake manifold. Think of it as air in your car tires. Usually around 35psi in most cars, more in trucks. Think of the turbo as the air compressor used to put air in your tires. The only difference is that the tires don't use the air to make power =]

Because a stock Z32 boost gauge is worthless and inaccurate. I have had an aftermarket boost gauge since the first week I purchased the car. When my stock gauge is reading 11psi the car is usually running 16psi. When I am pulling 12kp vac its really pulling 18-20.

they would be good for quick acceleration and they would keep the rpms up when you shift to keep the turbo built up and they will really help in drag racing
it sounds like you need closer gears the way the rpms drop like they do i would try some 3:73s or 4:10s if i were you but the car sounds good and KICKS BUTT!
It was disconnected to get rid of an extra vac line. I need to put that in the description because that makes no kidding about the 15th or 20th time its been stated on here.

I have heard of that before by other Z owners and it turned out that it was the JWT eprom that are made wrong.

Sounds awesome man but why such the big hesitation after shifts? Like you would almost hit redline, then shift and the rpms fall back to like 3k. Were you doing that on purpose?
Its because I wasn't giving it anymore than 1/3 throttle after shifting because if you hold it to redline and then shift and give it full throttle it will cut sideways. I was trying to stay safe for the video and the cars sake =)
O ok i see now. I do that sometimes in my car, mostly 1st and 2nd but 3rd gear hooks because i have 275's in the rear. I just thought you werent doing that and something was wrong. Nice car, i had a 93zTT like 2 years ago. Man i miss that car.
I have had this one for close to 5 years now and still love it dearly. I almost traded it off to a C5 Vette once but decided to keep it since they were getting harder and harder to find. Not to mention I had way to much money sunk into it. Its down right now for the first time since I have owned it. I am upgrading the turbos, injectors and finally installing the FMIC.
Its unplugged. The highest point on my pillar boost gauge is +16 =) BTW 10psi is stock. The car only runs 7psi if the car is in safety boost. Might want to check for boost leaks and the plugs. When the car senses detonation it automatically retards the boost and the timing. Fix that and you should be running 10psi :) It makes a pretty big difference.
The whole setup was taken out of the car at the time of the video. So many people complained along with it being annoying that it didn't move while driving its back in the car now. I have always had an aftermarket boost gauge for accurate reading. The stock one is always around 3-4psi off if not more.

The stock electronic boost gauge was completely removed to eliminate the change of any unnecessary boost leaks but I have a autometer boost gauge in the a-pillar (see in car video). I ended up putting it back in though just because it was more aggravating not seeing it move than seeing it read inaccurately. If you still have your stock one when you get it out of the shop and are running more than stock boost, invest in an aftermarket boost gauge for safety.
Yeah because we all know that most people use their turn signals on a dyno, have reflections of trees on their gauge cluster and spin the tires off CONSTANTLY on a dyno :) Yup the secrets out guys, this was done on a dyno and the shop owner totally didn't care for me acting like a dumb ass on his $40,000+ dyno. This video is iffy. Fristly, you all must be rolling on marble smooth roads or summit, because noting upsets the camera, ever. Secondly whats with the speedo? at top revs its up past 53mph, then as soon as you hit the clutch to it's down to 40mph, in milli-seconds. Very ODD.
Nothing to be iffy about. The camera was bolted down directly to the steering column on a billet mount. It also has stabilization which helped because the car doesn't ride to smooth at all given the stiff suspension setup.
The speedo is an easy one. When the tires are spinning it shows a faster speed, then when I switch gears or let off the gas the tires stop spinning showing actual speed (40mph). Roads were fine, it just spun in lower gears really bad on the 19s with low profile tires.

I know, Kaaz 4:10s are on the to do list. I wasn't to worried about the rear diff but since I am doing a newer race build I figured I would upgrade the LSD as well. Also some pretty heave suspension work =D

I have a stock NA rear end with shorter gearing setting in the garage. I can't remember for sure but I think they are 4:09ish.

you said that you can't get over 5500 rpms pass second gear..
I have heard of that before by other Z owners and it turned out that it was the JWT eprom that are made wrong.
we could figure out why they would do such a dumb thing, but then Ash Powers from ASHSPEC Z explained it all. you should call him up. VERY VERY INFORMATIVE.
Very amazing theories and tuning on the Z32.

Sounds awesome man but why such the big hesitation after shifts? Like you would almost hit redline, then shift and the rpms fall back to like 3k. Were you doing that on purpose?

Its because I wasn't giving it anymore than 1/3 throttle after shifting because if you hold it to redline and then shift and give it full throttle it will cut sideways. I was trying to stay safe for the video and the cars sake =)

I have had this one for close to 5 years now and still love it dearly. I almost traded it off to a C5 Vette once but decided to keep it since they were getting harder and harder to find. Not to mention I had way to much money sunk into it. Its down right now for the first time since I have owned it. I am upgrading the turbos, injectors and finally installing the FMIC.

Its unplugged. The highest point on my pillar boost gauge is +16 =) BTW 10psi is stock. The car only runs 7psi if the car is in safety boost. Might want to check for boost leaks and the plugs. When the car senses detonation it automatically retards the boost and the timing. Fix that and you should be running 10psi :) It makes a pretty big difference.

The whole setup was taken out of the car at the time of the video. So many people complained along with it being annoying that it didn't move while driving its back in the car now. I have always had an aftermarket boost gauge for accurate reading. The stock one is always around 3-4psi off if not more.

Tired of people saying the video is on a dyno, fake, ect because the speedo jumps magically when I hit the gas in lower gears, the car gets really loud and rpms rise. Think about it guys ;) umm duh.

The stock electronic boost gauge was completely removed to eliminate the change of any unnecessary boost leaks but I have a autometer boost gauge in the a-pillar (see in car video). I ended up putting it back in though just because it was more aggravating not seeing it move than seeing it read inaccurately. If you still have your stock one when you get it out of the shop and are running more than stock boost, invest in an aftermarket boost gauge for safety.

Yeah because we all know that most people use their turn signals on a dyno, have reflections of trees on their gauge cluster and spin the tires off CONSTANTLY on a dyno :) Yup the secrets out guys, this was done on a dyno and the shop owner totally didn't care for me acting like a dumb ass on his $40,000+ dyno. Come on man...

I dont mean to be hating its just a little hard to belive. As for the turning signal im pretty sure that is the steering wheel in the bottom left hand side witch doesnt move. This video is iffy. Fristly, you all must be rolling on marble smooth roads or summit, because noting upsets the camera, ever. Secondly whats with the speedo? at top revs its up past 53mph, then as soon as you hit the clutch to it's down to 40mph, in milli-seconds. Very ODD.

Nothing to be iffy about. The camera was bolted down directly to the steering column on a billet mount. It also has stabilization which helped because the car doesn't ride to smooth at all given the stiff suspension setup.
The speedo is an easy one. When the tires are spinning it shows a faster speed, then when I switch gears or let off the gas the tires stop spinning showing actual speed (40mph). Roads were fine, it just spun in lower gears really bad on the 19s with low profile tires.
