Sting can lose to Mick Foley because it was a hardcore match and Foley only won BECAUSE it was a hardcore match.. Now Mick can job it out to someone else in the next few weeks in a standard match. Mick wont look weak because he specializes in hardcore. Sting wont look weak because their match was outside of his element. They do it this way to put over younger stars while protecting the reputations their legends.
