Absent fathers are still fathers and are expected to bear responsibility for that but guess what happens when women lay down with irresponsible men? Those men who had no interest in being fathers before the baby was conceived (surprise) aren't too interested in fatherhood after the baby is born. Whichever parent(s) were in the person in question's life, it is painfully obvious that the ball was dropped. Even a SINGLE PARENT should be able to teach their kids right from wrong.

After, I only needed to anticipate behavior (paying attention) and give the "look" I never "threatened" her after that, I simply laid the law down, "if you do that AGAIN this is what you are going to get" after I gave it the FIRST time, I didn't have to worry about the second time. I was one of those kids. Both parents, yet I fought in school and almost quit. But the good put in ME by my parents came out and I graduated in spite of the desire to do bad. Went on to the Navy and College.

And still yet, I later yielded to the wild side again and ended up in prison. And realizing as an Adult, "I" was solely responsible for my OWN lot in Life, the good that my parents had put in me finally took hold and I overcame with the help of God in allowing what is righteous to rule and not my own selfish desires.

I am not perfect, but I am surely not what I used to be.

Bottom line, be a parent and put something in your children. It will save their life if they ever get lost like I did.

Love the video. You are right these kids are worse than animals the way they are acting. That's why I feel it starts it home. If the parent or parents would raise them like they should be raised these things wouldn't be happening. I feel when a kid starts to show rebellion by the age of 2 you got to let him know it's not tolerated but these days temper tantrums are cute to these silly parents. When they are teens it's too late to correct them then. So i fault the parents also

A tantrum is normal for even normal children without disabilities. But the things is to react the RIGHT way. The right way isn't beating them for acting crazy, that only promotes violence to them. Now a lot of parents think spanking is needed, but in reality, that just shows a lack of control of your OWN emotions and shows the child, "hey idk what else to do with you". So those parents instead need to take their time to LEARN what concequences will work for thier child &not be lazy with spanking

I took psychology in college also and what i know about all people is that we need to have a level of respect whether adult or child. One thing about books it doesn't has the answer to everything. No book can case human beings because we are all unique. I was spanked when I needed to be by my parents and I haven't seen a day in jail or have a criminal record. I been married for 9 years with 2 children. My father wasn't in my life so my mom had to do it alone and I turned out ok.

And yes I agree that not any one text book will have the answers, there really aren't any 100% answers, mainly becasue every parent and child are different. But child psychology is a lot different then adult psychology. Childs minds are fragile yet simple. Many adults dont know how to think like their child in the simple way needed to understand better how to discipline them. Discipline should be about teaching them from right and wrong, not making them feel like crap, my opinion.

With my daughter she is 8 i don't spank her anymore because I punish her and it's more effective but when she was younger i did if it were needed. My daughter has respect for both me and my wife. My son who is 5 does get spanked if he needs it but it's a last result. I can threaten him with one and he correct himself. You see when you love your children you will discipline them. The police can shoot,tazer,beat,and spray your child with pepper spray. All they can say is they were resisting

True that about hte police, lol. Like I said I don't mean to offend anyone. I think for those that do spank it has to be monitored. Spanking out of anger is def not the way to go. Being calm during the spanking will lesson the negitive emotional impact and the child will better understand the reason behind the spanking. Also there are certain things that a spanking just aint right for. Like I was spanked if I wet the bed as a child. Now thats not right, bed wetting isnt a choice, lol. Blessed Be

My Father should have kicked my butt more often. It could have made all the difference in the world. But because he and his brother were whipped by their Mother, he refused to whip us. Yet he paddled his kids at schools (Retired School Teacher).

I believe it would have made a difference with me in my early life.

Peace Bro Tmot, good vid. It hink we don't realize that we are raising our children for OTHER PEOPLE because it is OTHER PEOPLE that they will encounter when they go outside the home. Raising human beings starts from the moment of conception to be exact. Some parents don't want their children to be mad at them or can't stand to hear them cry..Guess What? That is life and they will LEARN but we must be consistent.

This is as wrong as wrong can be. The problem with these children isn't TOO MUCH discipline its NOT ENOUGH discipline, and for some children this is the most effective mode, its a case by case basis.

I don't recall saying too much discipline was the problem. I said the way someone spanks if they so choose to spank is the problem with many kids. Discipline is needed, but it has to teach the child right from wrong. I personally don't feel spanking being a "proven" method. Saying it is proven is just not a fact when you have many children growing up as adults thinking its okay to beat on their kids and/or spouses. Anyway, discipline doesn't mean spanking.

For someone to say they are a psychologist and to say that a proven method of discipline should be done away with is just a victim of this new school indoctrination that has things the way they are now. Emotionally charged women raising kids with no accountability and coming to the rescue even when the kid is dead wrong is the source of the problems today, not spanking.
