I don't seem to understand why everyone likes this opening. Sure it is pretty but it is a little depressing in my opinion. I think the 3rd one is the best because the lyrics were beautiful. Then the 1st one was in the middle for me.

This was such a good series, I really liked kai because the first season made sooooo much more sense after watching this season XD and I liked rei cuz some of the episodes were much more lighter and funnier, was a good close to the series :)

I think people object to the change in tone. The first seaon was psychological horror and mystery, while the secod is more action adventure. I don't have a problem with it. The first season presents the challenge and in the second season the characters begin to work against it. You couldn't have an entire series like the first season because it's based around mystery and suspense. If they tried to make the second season like that it would have gotten tired and predictable. Nah... I thought it was going to be a massacre on each episode but it's not that much. The first season has some violence sometimes, but generally it's interesting and fun to watch. The second season lightens up a bit on the violence and focuses on answering the questions you have about season 1.

A 16-year old girl killed her father using an axe or someting. They felt like the connection is too visible and instead of ep 12 they broadcasted a cooking show...I think so. Don't quote me on that though xP

This is the same murder that led to the "Nice Boat" incident. For some reason, everyone was more obsessed with the boat that replaced the ending of School Days than the cooking show that replaced that episode of Higurashi...then again, Higurashi was known to be violent, so they probably figured that they weren't missing out on much from the lack of one murder.

However, this is the second season, not the first. the name of the First is "Higurashi no naku koro ni" and if you dont watch that, it will Litterally be IMPOSSIBLE for u to understand what the hell is going on in the second season. the first arc is completly based off of the whole first season

people who read this comment, i found out an interesting fact, the part in this opening were it show's rena's hatchet covered with blood was changed in 2007 because of a murder that happened in japan. a police officer was killed by his 16 year old daughter by an ax(i think) so they changed the part with rena's hatchet covered in blood 2 the van thing in the junkyard. i just wanted 2 tell u people just because i found out that fact and it was higurashi related X3
