@TABBIO84 57s can be used for anything, they just usually get used for amps and such like, whereas the 58s are the usual choice for vox.

@TABBIO84 The 57 and 58 are much the same mic internally only the 57 is better suited to amps and snare drums because it doesn't have the ball head. It's perfectly ok to use for vocals too though

I avoided this DVD for a long time but got it as a present. It's quite a surprise to see them play so well. The albums they were releasing were balls but man they could still put on a good show. Just purchased the CD version for two bucks for an early Christmas present.

You can certainly see what effect hanging with the Manson family had on Dennis. No too long after this was shot, he got totally wasted, dove off a dock and slept with the fishes. What a tragic loss of a fine young man.

By the way it was 1980. One of the last times they all played together, i think it was the last big time for the beach boys.
