A great daughter, true disciple of Pt.Kumar Gandharv, I enjoy this beautifully rendered raga Sohoni and also her nirgun bhajan. My GOD bless more and more talent to this well deserving person. venu65315
I like the way in which she enjoys the song...more than the song itself.....she lives the song truly, it seems that she is really talking to real Krishna face to face....
Actually the Bhuvanesh ji does not sing the highest Octave notes as sung by Kumarji in the Nand composition, so she is better than the men in the family. Also her intonation and sense of phrasing is impeccable like of Kumarji....so I trust her to keep the family name.
As for copying....there is nothing wrong in copying if you are keeping the family songs, compositions and trad. going....this IS the basis of our music that is Gharana based.
About keeping the family name, you must give the top billing to Pt Mukul Shivaputra, who gives ample flashes of his father's brilliance. Sadly he does not perform too much, so his music is not widely known.
to copy Kumar needs a great amount of talent..but i kinda tend to agree with you on this. If you wish to see originality..listen to the men in the family.

रंग ना डालो शामजी गोरी पे
पेहरी नयी रे नयी सारी
सखी सहेल हसत रे देई गारी
कैसे हो खिलाडी मानत नाही
बरजोरी न कर जावो मै तो हारी

I am sorry to see not a single response to my comment as to the genius of Pt Mukul Shivaputra, perhaps the true inheritor to Pt Kumarji's music.

May Kumarji's music continue to delight his fans and others through his talented daughter. Give her time to develop and progress in her own terms.
Keep it up Kalapini.
