jai ganesh my friend.. i love him... i do not speak hindi, but i love india's cultures. and speacially lord ganesh. i can feel his love and mercy. when i'm very sad or depressed i jsut listen to ganesh songs and makes me feel happy. like he is telling me " you are not alone" count on me. i' lord ganesh.. well that's how i feel when i chant his name or sing to lord ganesh.. thanks for the great video and il ove this song.

So the moral of the story is that donot ridicule someone who appears lower in status. The status can be strength, beauty, wealth etc. Those who ridicule others have to go through ups and downs. On Vinayak Chathurthi day, Hindus observe fasting and donot look at the moon. The purpose is to eliminate the tendency in mind to discriminate and attain a balanced view. Those who make the ritual a luxurious one while hs neighbour is starving does not understand the purpose of the ritual. Jai Ganesh!

the moon was proud of his charm and regarded ganapati as a lesser one. ganapati got angry and cursed him. The moon lost his light and became black. Then all his wives deserted him. None admired his beauty as there was none left. The moon realised his mistake and begged pardon with Ganapati. The curse was modified so that the moon was advised to go through ups and downs. Thus the moon reaches its full glory on one day (Full moon) where he becomes proud and thus loses all glory on another day.

I googled and found a 2001 cassette - "Ganpati Vandana" by T-Series that has that song in it. If you google on the words- jisne tera naam ganpati - on this first page more than half-way down you will find a 2001 screen india article about this (and other Ganesh tapes)..maybe you could search for this tape in the stores? I cannot find it on the net :(
