Hammond was definitely the one to do a Charger episode. I built two of these, first my buddy's 67' and then my old boss's 70' - the car they used for this episode wasn't much for grunt and it sounded oddly like an exhaust leak. The 440 cars can be border line scary- granted you invest the right money and time on it. Thanks Richard!
I had a black 69 with red interior 440 auto. WHEN I WAS 16!! 440 375hp but 390 with the 6 pack that I put on. Mine had the same mags as this one and would burn the tires for miles!
69 has split grill and rectangular side marker lights. Most have been butchered to make Dukes of Hazzard replicas. Since this one is green its not super collectable. Still a nice ride. Mine had top speed of 137 mph,pedal to the metal!
The year he drives is 1968 - You can see it on the rear lights. The only year they used round rear lights. In my hunble opinion the nicest ass of them all ;)
I agree, but everytime i see the 69 front and rears, i agrree that the 69 looks amazing too. With the split grill front and rectangular rear lights. The 69 seems like the more agressive and iconic Charger. But i llike the 68 more or do i.. Which one would u buy if u had the money? I keep thinking but cant decide which i like more..

I see plenty of '69-> models on the road here in Denmark, but the '68 is not so common.

the 426 hemi had 425hp, 440 was 375hp (assuming every thing was stock)

horse power was calculated differently back then, so 440=425 is about right.
