I always thought it was odd that people who are part black, are automaticly labeled as black. For instance, Barack Obama really isn't black, but half black and half white. So he's the first president with African heritage. Regardless, it's a cool thing.
I think its because he shares more traits from his black side than white, atleast physically so its only fair to say that he's black, i mean him and i are damn near the same complection and i'm considered black even though im biracial like him...i agree though, and i see your point because no he isn't all black but he is Mulatto, the thing is i am 5 different races but the most dominant of them is black so im more defined as a black man...see what i mean?
who said i was making it a big deal? Obama IS the first MAN OF COLOR in history elected as president, now thats a big deal not his ethnic backround, im not gunna call him the first "colored" president nor am i gunna call him the first white president because he's not, and he's not all white either, but he IS the first with black backround and since his father was from Kenya [and was a BLACK man] and the male gene is the most dominant, im gunna call him Black!
Obama having African heritage and being elected president is a big deal and shouldn't be belittled. It's a huge first and could help reduce racism in the country (at least I hope).
