  • lol jack dee

  • I read the comment about the crowd being bad and expected the video to be awkward, but the crowd is applauding and laughing, there is no way he was bombing to this crowd, maybe its a UK , US difference but it seems the crowd was with him to me

  • Bill was born on a different cloud

  • Absolute gold performance here by Bill.

  • the door is a jar

  • Haha Twilight commercial came on after!

  • @TheAtheistAussie WTF! Ads on my posts? Wankers.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheAtheistAussie Phew! I see. Thank the unseen engines of random mutation for that.

  • @RileyELFuk Technically, its not yours. Thanks for posting though.

  • @TheAtheistAussie use adblock plus.

  • @prenticeanyonywright Yeah cheers, it wasn't an ad though it was an ad within the video.

  • @TheAtheistAussie oh cool, and keep not believing in god, the world will be a better place athiestaussie.

  • can someone please recommend to me a female comic that does this style of comedy?

  • Boring set.

  • Man, you're bumming me! Ha ha!!!

  • I love how he replaces 'Sharper Image' with 'Tandy'!

  • any idea of the year this was filmed?

  • @oggmonster89 '91 IIRC

  • It takes more energy to frown than it does to smile. Oh bill I know what your saying.

  • Remember Alcohol is BAD!! people its time it was made Illegal and Cannabis was made legal! makes perfect sence to me and millions of others so when your drinking your whisky ,jd,or beer later think of what u r doing to yourselves POISON time to stop dont u think??

  • No The crowd sucked!! make sure i never go to Edinburgh if i ever become a stand up!

  • @futurecat71 ...i take it you've never heard of the Edinburgh fringe festival.

  • The door is a jar. =D

  • Hahaha...love the exhaling joke.

  • crowd were fair enough .. know what Scots are like

  • @BakedGanja420 no really

  • Aw Billy boy, you are still missed.

  • how come you expect the satire on everyday american life be readily understood by british crowd. they laugh at what makes sense to them, no more, no less.

  • Geeze. They wait for a joke, laugh for like a second and then start clapping. It's like they're applauding a cross eyed contortionist.

I'm sorry that joke made no sense to you.

    I found it hilarious.

  • truely is the greatest

  • i love the part ' i really drank'' and the hand movement

  • it may have been because this was hicks first time in the UK, or it really may have been just a bad crowd

  • @Batpod05 It's probably because UK audiences of the time didn't whoop like Yahoos, nor did they mic the crowds in the way that they do now. Remember, Bill's reception resulted in him playing the UK a lot and becoming a big comedy star, whereas he was largely ignored in the US. Had cancer not seen him off, he would likely have had his own series in the UK, and his deserved, worldwide recognition would not have been posthumous. You know how it is, you don't what you've got until it's gone.

  • @RileyELFuk hes immortal though his words will keep him alive.

  • @RileyELFuk wow you can take information from the Bill Hicks movie and try making it sound like your intelligent

  • @BigBoomRobot Well you're welcome to try, but you may need a grown up (or educated child) to help you differentiate between possessive pronouns and contractions, otherwise you could just end up looking like a petulant half-wit.

  • @RileyELFuk amen bruz, interesting bit of analysis aswell

  • @Batpod05 No he's just not that good. There is NO such thing as a bad crowd, by the way.

  • What does he says after the "internal dialogue"? I'm not getting it, could anyone write that down please? =)

  • @Eruhen "Wait a minute Bill, alcohol's an acceptable form of social interaction, which for thousands of years has been the norm"

Shut up. Your denial is beneath you, and thanks to the use of hallucinogenic drugs, I see through you.

  • What a Pathetic crowd!!!!!

  • @Clubpenguin771 Pathetic because they are not mawkishly woo-hooing and all that bolllocks. It's Scotland; British people don't do that because we are not spastics.

  • Jack Dee introduced Bill Hicks.... I just came :o

  • ahah the door is ajar....

  • i love how most BH videos have no dislikes :) i guess we do have intelligent brothers and sisters in the world even after all the brainwashing and traditional conditioning...

  • Ha ha, "well I'm definitely not doing them with you!"

I don't ever recall seeing this at all, and I have a lot of his stuff. Thanks very much for uploading this...you have some great vids. I also love Kitchens of Distinction. I have uploaded some Bill Hicks stuff from one of his last shows. Take a look.

    Thanks again!

  • shame on that crowd..

  • Great comedy. Shit crowd.

  • @TheDreamMechanic hard to tell sometimes. I think some crowds just have to process the greatness of what he's saying.

  • @TheDreamMechanic It's a different place, the sense of humour is different. They're not shit because they have different points of reference to a single comedian.

  • @lampard554

If raw, true comedic genius goes over like a lead balloon, I'd say it's a shit comedy crowd. You'd think they would notice.

Hicks was used to that sort of thing though. Lotta doorknobs in the world you know.

  • @TheDreamMechanic I'm not diminishing him, Bill Hicks is my fucking idol. But he wasn't a genius, he was simply logical. I agree with you about the doorknobs lol, but if people's minds aren't ready for the truth, they cannot be forced into agreeing, they cannot be forced to laugh, they must be shown the way. Unfortunately, this will take time and will be a long and arduous process.

  • jack dee is an unfunny larry david wannabe

  • @yassymeeny Stewart Lee?

  • Thanks for uploading.

RIP Bill - You're still the best.

  • @bollockowithalob The Elvis of comedy!

  • thx for the vid, ElFuk!

    r.i.p. bill hicks

  • its a very toned down bill. was this his first time in the U.K was this part of the Edinburgh festival

  • @skawashers

Nearly, it was part of one the special shows, that TV always organised from the festival in it's heyday.
