I feel the same way now with more food available to me- it was much easier when I was on the restricted diet- I can eat candy, pizza, etc. I have to keep reminding myself to eat slowly and to prepare etc.Good luck with everything~Nicole

If you stick to the rules life will be easier long term

If you go back to your old eating habits you will get the old result eventually.

At about 18 months out you gut starts to absorb more of the calories you are eating so the short story is you can not go back to eating bad foods and expect a good result. here is a simple set of rules:

1) Eat Protein first - I follow 3 bites of protein 1 of something else

2) Avoid white carbs

3) Eat slowly

4) Drink LOTS of water

Congrats! Sounds like it will be a fun wedding! I'm 3-1/2 years out from surgery and can eat (or will eat) things that I couldn't/wouldn't in the beginning. BUT ... I do watch and limit what I'm eating, which I could not do preop. And, my pouch is still very much in control most of the time as far as volume. Don't stress, just be mindful. That's how I'm managing. ;)
