i'm a graphic designer. it's perfect for ANY design work i need to do with the adobe creative sweet. pc's got photoshop but mac's have photoshop, illustrator, inDesign, qwark xrpess, acrobat, dreamweaver, fireworks, encore, bridge, hell there's loads more i can think of. they are what all design work is done using. advertisements, posters, billboards, newspapers magazines, tv ads, photos, business cards ... basically anything printed.

not necessarily, the imac only has a 0.4Ghz advantage over the macbook, and that is only the clock speed. The macbook has DDR3 ram while the imac only has DDR2.

There are too many misconceptions about how fast a computer is by looking at the clock speed, when really what you should be looking to find out is how many flops it can do, cos thats a more accurate gauge.

I disagree. While they do make the best CONSUMER laptops (i own a macbook 17 unibody), tthe BUSINESS (not consumer ;) )line of laptops from manufacturers like Dell, lenovo, and sony, are pretty good in their own respect.

But when it comes to desktops, nothing beats a custom-built PC. I built mine over 2 years ago for under the price of an iMac, yet its still as fast as some of the new Mac Pros.

I own a iMac with 8GB RAM, 2.93Ghz, ATI Radeon HD 4850 and 640GB Storage.

It takes ages to load up but once it does it's a beast. It's fully upgraded and cost me heaps but it's definitely worth it.

If anyone is looking at a Mac, get a good iMac and a cheap Macbook, like I did. So you've got all the power when the need it and the battery when it counts :)
