these headphones were terrible the volume control is heavy the length of the cables are too short (i'm 6'2) but number one fault with these headphones to make it a complete rip off as headphones is the quality of plastic to insulate, it's just so thin, also with the jack. if you pa this much for headphone they should be durable.

Had a pair of CX300 a while ago. Problem was the way the wire came out of the earphone (there was no load carrying system inside), other than some rubber "bottleneck" that twisted and broke causing the wire to get yanked on where it was soldered to the speaker.. and then those connections broke. So, when I got my next pair the first thing I did was open them up and tie a little knot right inside the speaker housing. I'm considering getting CX680 (hoping they solved that problem). Any way to see?

if you paid $140 for these headphones, YOU GOT RIPPED OFF. thats your own fault. i bought my 680 from a local bestbuy for $76 including tax. i love these headphones. i am an avid runner and have always had a problem with various headphones falling out of my ears. these sennheisers stay put and are extremely comfortable. my sweat and the rain does not the diminish the sound quality of the headphones. the bass hits clean, hard and is not overwhelming and the highs are nice and crisp. +1 sennheiser

The sound is ok, and it is water resistant. When you wash these, it does take 2-3 days to fully dry. During the drying period, the sound is muffled. It is cheaply made, and the black plastic ear piece casing comes apart very easy. Went through 3 of these already. Not worth the $140.

@DJHazzr I don't know what a long period is to you, but I use these mostly for an hour/hour and a half (non stop) while working out. I find these really comfortable. They don't fall out of my ears, they block a lot of surrounding noise like music that's been played in the gym and the bass is really thumping for such reasonably priced in ear buds. All in all I'm very pleased with them. I'm not familiar with the IE2's tho...
