I need to know the rate or tempo. I need to know a step count or something.. I don't need to go to your website and download anything. how did you get all these likes? Because I don't like it.
you lost me man, I'm using reason 5, it must be just a tad bit different, when I go trying to load the sample its only showing patch files...and not any other files.
first off! your tutorial was pretty thorough. Second when does race, heritage, or creed have anything to do with being a dope producer. Scott Storch, Eminem, Rick Rubin, Alchemist, Sabzi, and much more are great producers and they are white. Its about being a great musician and having an ear for the music. Although black producers are the pioneers of hiphop production, they just paved the way for the whole world. so if anything pay homage and respect.
How do you make the screen stick to your snare roll? My screen follows the song...can't make it stick to one spot without moving if the track is playing???
@MrJynx85 What was really your point? Why must shit like this always happen on you tube? Self-hating psychopaths come thru policing and picking thru ppl's comments. Ur suppose to comment on BoyInABand's video, not match wits with me. Fuckin low life!
@SweZiEnt bro u need help..i 100percent did not expect you to say that mate. take a chill pill. have u read what u said..i think u sound like the low life 2 me. iseriously i ment nothing by it by the way.
Respond to this video... I don't give a fuck what you doubt! Why would I ever value your opinion? I went to your page. Dog, your shit is whack!!! Spend less time staring at the monitor masturbating to LGBT porn and trying to create emotional dynamics with YouTubers by talkin shit. Spend more time using your imagination to make hot music!
@RekstarBeats I mean there are many ways to Do snare rolls but personally I would use the REDRUM first for the pattern/Then go into the sampling view of the NN-XT and do the pitched roll from there but be sure to remember what drum sound you used and drag the pattern from the redrum line to the NNXT line.
@TWEShellshockr So how do you do the "up the tempo" for only the snare roll like it is demonstrated in this video? because I've had trouble with it too… Oh and how long should it be? Half A bar?
@impalaon4vouges IN REDRUM double the resolution for something like this use 1/32 resolution. Get the rythm you want and the timing and do your pitch shifting in either NNXT (inside the editor) or use the Matrix. Overall if you do a track at 70bpm's and use the 1/32 resolution it will make the drums twice as fast. i hope that helped
I have loads of reason refills in all styles trust me something for everyone here as well as sample C.D's/ Loop Kits/ Loop C.D's/ Tutorials and much more.
I have all the factory sounds from every drum machine made in the last 20
years including the AKAI MPC range with MPC programmes. All available in wav or reason refill format. Trust me, you want it I got it I have everything! Contact me for a full list!
@Dropjuice Nevermind, I found it out. Anyway, how will I get that right speed? And if I look you only got a little bar but if you double click on it you got alot of space to draw that Snare Roll. Could you help me with that.
ok I want ot make a 808 drum roll for my beat right but..im doing the same thing your doing..but do i have to hold the key to play the whole sound...or is their a way for it to like play the whole 808 kick just with 1 hit on the key...help me out pls and thanks
reason!!!!!!!. i was 2 a fl studio user. reason is 10 times if not a 100 times easier and the sound quality is thru the roof in reason. but you have to have a keyboard or controller in order to get a 100 percent from reason but even then. its sick
@bornarydah Yea Im good with fl studio...but im on reason 4 right now and it sounds so much clearer and its a bit hard to get use to it when your new to it like me but I like reason better then fl studio
just have the snare sample you want loaded into a redrum.
draw an automation clip and assign one of the knobs on your midi controller to the pitch knob on the snare sample.
then record it and as the snare roll plays move the pitch knob clockwise. All you have to do then is cut down the automation clip so it only lasts for however long you want it to and there you go :D
I do this also, but what I love about Reason is the way you can acheive the same results in varying ways.
I actually quite like the method that's shown here. Working in the sequencer can be a little finicky but having the snare already mapped out means you can access a wide range of pitches very easily without faffing in the automation draw section.
Having said that, the reason I'll stick with what you and I have been doing is because I like to see my core drum sequence in one track/place...
and plus when you compressed it and said youve turned it to full you actually turned the threshhold of the compression down little things like this should be stated again sorry but why teach half a lesson
click on How To Make A Dirty South Beat on his website itll say download patch n you download it but i dont kno how to put the download on reason thats wat im havin trouble with
How did you lay down the notes in the sequencer windows? Did you play them out or draw them? Curious to know how you determined how long to make the notes so that it sounds right. Sounds good....but you skipped a step in your explanation. Help us newbies.
I have learned more from you in the past year than I have in all the music lessons/music theory I've been to combined

what was your tempo on?
i been trying to figure them snare rolls for a very long time
jay111525 1 year ago
@jay111525 Actually The beat itself is Slow but the Drums are in Double Time
for example if you were to play melodies at 80bpm your drums would have to be double the speed! 160bpm
TWEShellshockr 1 year ago
@TWEShellshockr So how do you do the "up the tempo" for only the snare roll like it is demonstrated in this video? because I've had trouble with it too… Oh and how long should it be? Half A bar?
