If you're talking about whether it's a lake or a reservoir you might have a point. If you're talking about it's name or title or whatever, it is Lake Owyhee. Doesn't really matter if it's not technically a lake, it is still called (titled, named) Lake Owyhee. I too grew up not far from there.
Doesn't matter. I always called it Lake Owyhee.. I grew up not far from here. My great grandparents and grandparents owned the resort in the late 60's.
Thank you for the CORRECT title. This is Owyhee RESERVOIR, not LAKE Owyhee. A reservoir refers to "an artificial lake, used to store water for various uses. Reservoirs are created first by building a sturdy dam, usually out of cement, earth, rock, or a mixture." The State of Oregon and Google need to correct this misnomer. Since 1931 it was a RESERVOIR, and NEVER has it been a LAKE.
Can't wait to get to the Owyhee Res. in May :) Hope the crappie fishing is good.

I'm originally from Atlanta, and all of our reservoirs are also called lakes. Lanier, Allatoona, Sinclair, Hartwell; all dammed rivers.
