  • This is such a sexy song, puts one in a different sort of "mood", so to speak! Where's my hubby??? LOL! ;)

  • great

  • i thought John Oats would have been playing on this song.

  • classic music does not get any better than this. Hopefully the next generation trys to pick up an insturment and create more than bass.

  • Great!!

  • I remember this song... Heyyyyy ;-)

  • Love them, they can sing and is from Philly!

  • In this video Daryl is the most gorgeous and sexiest thing on two, very, very

long legs... I've just had a bit of a Daryl evening on Youtube and this is the last one I'm playing before going to bed... bring on those sweet dreams..mmmm

  • @dianel42 same here! LOL

  • me lembro desta musica quando fui visitar uma cidade chamada Lins em sao paulo brazil ficou marcada por este motivo e muito romantica

  • I AM SO IN LOVE WITH DARYLL HALL AND JOHN OATES(",)

  • why wasn't this a big hit!

  • @mmjj2 Cause people were busy listening to crap.

  • Funny that it's filmed around London. Apparently he lived here for awhile. Being all soulful n'that.

  • Amazing video i never imagine Darryl singing soul

  • Weird to see Hall without Oates

  • I think this is one of the finest songs ever written ...

  • Awesome, Daryl is an icon, so much soul!! I want this album

  • This is a very under played song. These guys have so much soul. I love and miss the 80's and 90's so much! H and O rules:)

  • He's gorgeous in this video. I love this song. Daryl Hall is one of my favorite artists, and I'm only 16.

  • I like the song. But what, exactly, is a Philly Mood?

  • @josue285 The combination of studios, musicians, producers and singers created a specific Philly sound,, especially the romantic things like "Me & Mrs. Jones", "La La Means I love You" , "If you don't Know Me By now" and "Turn Out The Lights:, Know those and you'll have a good idea of the Philly romantic sound that Daryl Hall grew up with and was influenced by in his own work. This song is a wonderful tribute to the sound and the emotion of those Philly records. It moves me every time.

  • Daryl in London. How great to see the main man 'diddy doo wopping' on the street. I saw Daryl & John perform an acoustic session at this West End club in early 2005. He also performed a couple of solo gigs at Kentish Town's 'Town & Country Club' in 1993 and was a wonderful as ever. Daryl Hall numer one artist.

  • I had my mother buy me this album for Christmas when it came out... just because of this song! I was 11 years old. I've been a fan ever since.

  • @blackbear82 Try 2 find his album Three heart in the happy ending machine. Great fuckin' album.

  • I like it so much...

  • Great Singer and a even better song!

  • two words BAJA PANTY

  • dary hall was is and will be one of the greatest singers that the 80 and 90 could have

  • @marianomendoza14 Daryll is 1 of the greats of the past 40 yrs.

  • One word...SWEET!

  • Please, please buy "Soul Alone." This album is truly a gem, every track is terrific, and some of Daryl's best vocals ever. "In a Philly Mood," well....incredible. OK, I'll shut up now. Go listen...

  • @carolloveskiwis I agree! "Soul Alone" is exquisite!

  • this is goooood and he is great Daryl and John r great

  • Gotta love the striped pants! Style. This is such a sexy song.

  • M I J I TO R I CO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I STILL HAVE THIS CD!!! BEST SONG HE'S EVER DONE!!!!!

  • @Telida what's goin' 2 us, great 2.

  • The man's voice is just the definition of sex. Every time he opens his mouth to let one of those gorgeous melodies out, women all over the world orgasm.

  • Can't get this song out of my head! Lot's of good memories...

  • The man who defined "Blue-Eyed Soul" One of my favorite songs!!

  • Wow, somehow I've never heard this until now. Awesomely smooth, emotion-enhanced mood creator - for lack of better words, obviously.

  • Okay, I could handle Daryl with stubble... still love him with waves.

  • One of my favorite songs of all time. Big, fat stinky groove. Great CD.

  • This song is so much better when you're actually from philly.

  • @largebills I agree. Its kinda sucks they shot the video in England

  • This is a great song and his voice is unmistakable. Too bad more people

didn't hear this song when it was released. I took it to Europe in the 90s and played it until the tape (yes, when dinosaurs ruled the earth) broke.

  • Happy Birthday Daryl, your talent is unique..!!

  • Thanks Daryl, thanks for all. You're simply the Best. Pure Talent

  • I love this song! I know people in Philly, and they've never heard this song!

  • Daryl's still got the soul in his music

  • Fell instantly in Love with this song the first time I heard it years ago.....still fall in love with it every time I hear it!!! What a beautiful soulful groove!

  • i never get tired of this song! awesome!

  • without Darryl Hall white R&B singer wouldn't have a chance.

  • Umm..is that a Gallagher brother on guitar?

  • this man was doing it big before robin thicke

  • you already what is with this hot joint right here!!!!

  • smooooooth ...perfect in every way

  • samesource...John Oates was lucky but just as when Joe left Aerosmith and the group weren't successfu without him, Daryl wasn't as successful without John either. Something about the 2 of them works just like groups like Montgomery Gentry or Brookes and Dunn.

  • I love this song too; he does a great job, such a soulful voice!

  • I've heard the unbelievably talented vocals of Daryl Hall live and am (excuse me my husband) totally smitten with him. He is by far one of the most talented vocalist of our time! He can simply rip thru your soul with his voice and his music is not "bubble gum, elevator or even pop". His style is more in character with jazz/blues. Daryl, I love this song and will forever adore you!!!!

  • I am in love with this song. it is so nice.

  • This song was off of Daryl's solo album! Great song! My Fav!

  • Great song from a great voice. The incredible thing about H&O is they are even better live than on record. Daryl Hall can sing a lullaby and make it sound like he's tearing his heart out. Enough said.

  • @carolloveskiwis Yep enough said!

  • Please don't desecrate this song with ugly comments. This is good music from a great artist.

  • @SCONIERS2007 I'm with grover12able and you. Privateclem must don't know music. H&O are a long way from elevator music. What you have today shouldn't be even played in an elevator, because there is no talent. Not too many singers, songwriters all wrapped in one. The 80's was fun music. But H&O started in the 70's and went into the 80's. Hall has his own style and O has his own, but together they are THE Hall & Oates. One of the greatest duos there is.

  • @SCONIERS2007 Very True.Stop critisizing a Great Artist of All Time. This has been a hit since I was a teener and I still get to enjoy listening to this music up until now that I am already in my mid 40's.Best way to unwind after a very stressful day is to listen to good music such as this(",)

  • His name is spelled John OATES.

And the truth is that he is the luckiest man in history. He contributed very little to the duo after the first album or two (I'm talking 1973-1974 range). From there on, Hall wrote most everything, sang the songs worth hearing, and what Hall did not play was usually played by studio musicians because Oates is not even a good guitarist. The backing vocals Oates does in H&O videos is just for show. Hall is actually singing the backing vocals in most all cases.

  • same!...Not only are you an idiot, but apparently you are deaf as well.

John Oates is a first class musician and songwriter. If you actually listen to the albums, you will hear him singing lead on several cuts of each.

The reason Daryl is the front man is quite simple. SEX APPEAL! The tall, blue-eyed blond will overshadow the short swarthy guy every time.

BTW The bands original incarnation was The Bag Of Oates.

  • the jam for real he still has it and always will

  • i love this song i was suprised John Oats wasn't singing with him.

  • i know oats is always around he is probably on the camera LOL

  • i just think John Oats is what makes the group.even though Daryl Hall is a very talented singer along with John Oats.

  • i love this song,,,,went out and got the single when i first heard it,,IMMEDIATELY LOVED THE GROOVE OF IT,,,,
