I would love to have this vehicle, its my favorite generation of Town Cars. It only has 214,465 miles on it?! That's just the beginning for these Town Cars. My Grand Marquis with the same 4.6L 2V engine is still going strong @ 220,000 even though it was down 2-3 quarts of oil at one point. This is unfortunate to say the least.

Mine is a 96 Town Car Signature. Just don't romp on it and you will get suprisingly good milage out of the old girls.

I had a Black 95 Executive edition with limo tint, I traded it in on CFC because I wouldn't have gotten near the 4.5k the government gave me with 270k on it...not because the government told me to. If you look at the odometer in this car it had over 200k too, so sorry they wouldn't have gotten 3500-4500.
So for me it only made sense to do it, seeing I bought the car used in 2002 for 4k and traded it in last year for a $500 profit. I almost drove the damn thing for free.
What I mean is, don't destroy them and pollute even more than it would have in 10 years of normal driving. I'm just saying what a waste! You can't resell it or reuse it because Uncle Sam said no....
@GentlemanHES I bought another Ford actually, almost everybody in my family drives one and they've done very well for us. Like I was saying, my car was worth maybe $1000 with 270k on it and starting to rust. Plus the best MPG I ever got in my TC was 22.3mpg, so far the best in my Focus is 35.4mpg with 3 people in the car and our luggage.
Don't get me wrong, I loved my TC. But it just didn't make sense for me to keep it when I got a new car for almost 40% off due to CFC and factory rebates

The worst part of this whole thing is that it didn't even help anything. The left didn't get their smaller "carbon footprint" and now perfectly good vehicles are no longer available for purchase. I managed to save a 97 Eldorado that someone was going to trade in C4C, I gave them cash, they needed the money but gave me a break because they hated to turn in a fine car to get destroyed.

I had a Black 95 Executive edition with limo tint, I traded it in on CFC because I wouldn't have gotten near the 4.5k the government gave me with 270k on it...not because the government told me to. If you look at the odometer in this car it had over 200k too, so sorry they wouldn't have gotten 3500-4500.
So for me it only made sense to do it, seeing I bought the car used in 2002 for 4k and traded it in last year for a $500 profit. I almost drove the damn thing for free.

@GentlemanHES I bought another Ford actually, almost everybody in my family drives one and they've done very well for us. Like I was saying, my car was worth maybe $1000 with 270k on it and starting to rust. Plus the best MPG I ever got in my TC was 22.3mpg, so far the best in my Focus is 35.4mpg with 3 people in the car and our luggage.
Don't get me wrong, I loved my TC. But it just didn't make sense for me to keep it when I got a new car for almost 40% off due to CFC and factory rebates

Why can't a good late-model car like this be sold to a poor family rather than junked?
There are REAL CLUNKERS that need junking....cars that may be good on gas when new, but are unsafe, rusty, oil-leaking, smoke belching guzzlers now due to being old and poorly maintained. In other words, the 80s cars the "working poor" often drive out of necessity.
So many people with poor transportation don't have money for a new car, even with $4500. Why can't we let these people have the better cars?

I had an uncle that wanted to take advantage of it since he owns an EXTREMELY beat to hell 1975 Chevrolet Silverado, but guess what his car is to old, WDF! He's been driving that car since 1977, and never had the money for a newer truck.
