Looks pretty brutal Pete lol A friend of mine really liked the first game but it wasn't really my cuppa - didn't even know the 2nd game was coming out as i'm so out of the loop with current-gen releases these days. Gonna go and take a look on the PSN in a bit :)

@bluetonic78 lol just a bit Alex :) Me too I tried the original but couldn't gel with it at all. This demo makes no.2 seem much better. Just hope the full game is as much fun as the demo :)

Looks like an amazing game and quite different than what I was expecting. I've got the first one but haven't played it yet. Might check it out tonight and see how it compares to this one.

@PsimanUK I was really surprised by this one tbh Simon. Not being a big fan of the original I had expected this to be crap and hadn't paid it any attention. However when I saw the demo on the PSN I thought well might as well give it a try, really glad I did as it's great :)

I have to be honest dude but this one just doesn't appeal to me, the violence feels that bit too gratuitous, as if it's meant to appeal to school boys, especially with the little chap farting and pissing everywhere. I'm guessing I'd probably feel differently if I'd played the first game or read the comics so all the shenanigans had some context. Having said that I do like a good 'dual wield'!

@LeBossu77 lol see your point Owen but tbh every now and then I like childish games, I like OTT violence and fart jokes, it makes a change as a lot of games take themselves way too seriously these days. You can't beat a good dual wield dude :)

lol this looks amazing i wonder if its an 18? hahaha, is this a ps3 exclusive? im with you about laughing, i mean look at homefront it was meant to be a horrific setting but it was so ridiculous it just made me laugh, the guns really sound nice, and have a great action to them, only problem i have is im not a huge fan of dark games, cause im like i can't see anything!!!!, haha great video pete, enjoyed it at 3am lol, probs woke the neighbours up with the gunfire but its all good :D

@Snestastic lol pete i was in a pub til about 1ish then got home and cudnt be bothered going to sleep so thought ill watch some of petes vids :), i do stay up sometimes late watching films at 2am lol, best time to do it in my view!, also sometimes i forget what time it gets when gaming, that ps3 update vid would be awesome, and your views on each title :D

Great vid as always Pete. It's quite over the top with the dismemberment isn't it? That's a recommendation by the way not a criticism ha ha. Aye, duel wielding weapons is always brilliant, I wish more games did it.

@anderai Thanks Andy :) lol it is proper violent and so true it's definitely a positive lol. Yeah I love dual wield, it amazes me that it's so under used. Have to be able to use one button per weapon though, I hate having the one shoulder/trigger for both guns.

Shame you could not get into first one its a really good underrated game but i get what you are saying I never could get into either the killzone or god of war series they just seem so bland but i am looking forward to the darkness 2 i have read a bit of the comic book its dark and brutal like the game

@MadDingo800 I'll probably give the original another shot Rob, just found it difficult and awkward when it came out lol. Yeah same here with killzone and god of war. Killzone 3 was the best of the trilogy but so boring and unoriginal.

As someone who used to read the Darkness comic I was incredably suprised that the first game got a sequel. Also I was amazed that based on how niche the comic book was I was suprised that the first game even got made and as far as I remember it was even that succesfull. How ever this play through has def madee me decide to give the sequel ago, great video Pete!

Nice playthrough fella, i loved the 1st one but this demo surpasses it by a long way, if you like dark twisted gory fps you want this baby i kid you not.

I just played this entire demo this morning and I am salivating for MORE!!!! Great game, from the graphics to the story--amazing! I am DEFINITELY going to pre-order this weekend and see about picking up The Darkness 1 as well. I know this entry is way better than the first, but I am absolutely captivated by the story. A mobster with a monster in him...brilliant. Great shooting skills! Love the channel/videos! Especially, the Saturday Night Specials!

@willgraham13 Thanks Will, yeah I didn't expect to like this game at all and was really shocked by the demo. It feels much better than the original and I found it a lot easier to just jump into.
