he is wrong with the fluval filters the U series they dont have twin outlets there is a little knob on the top that lets u pic one or the other not both at the same time or u can pic the centre outlet which is the line of holes in the centre i know this coz i have the U2 model for my 15 gallon u can see my tank on my channel if u like

@alster97 i can tell u first hand mainly coz i have had both the fluval filter in the vid and hang on filters that the fluval is the best u can buy

first of there are long lasting and wont brake down on u , and actualy my first hang on did brake down after 1 month so there are pritty shitty

secondly they have 3 stage filteration as he said in the vid unlike hang on filters which useuly only have 1 or maby 2 kinds

so i say get the fluval model

ive never really used fluval equipment for the biggest reason, its just toooo expensive. ive always used aqua-tech or tetra products because they are reasonably priced and seem to do a great job and last forever. but fluval might work better i dont really know

So my questions is which kind of lamp/bulb must I used to have them grow better? is it with the blue light (i dont know if the color is blue or else) or just the normal white color of pendaflour lamp would be okay? thanks

@RydzaKiut i use a aqua glo light and its for fish and plants but you can get a flora glo light for plants.

@RydzaKiut You need a 6500k also known as full spectrum..basically a bright white with a slight blue tint to it..So a T5 or T8 fluorescent tube in 6500k

Although these filters have a top outlet, bottom outlet and middle spray bar, you can only select one at the time. This video gave the impression you could have top and bottom pumping at the same time.

I have the Roma 125 and the Roma 200. You can grow plants under two T8's and much less too. A lot of people here seem to think lighting is the be all and end all.

Also, pretty sure that the Nutrafin Cycle stuff (or any equivalent bacteria in a bottle stuff) does absolutely nothing to seed the filter, would like to be proved otherwise.

Wish I'd watched this before I set up my tank - feel a little guilty about opting for a fish-in cycle...

Would be good if PFK do a follow up step by step explaining New Tank Syndrome and on doing a fish-less cycle: what ammonia source(s) to use, what to test for and how (strips, drops, etc.), how long cycling should take depending on tank size and if planting affects it, etc.
