  • This man makes me happy!

  • what a greatful show it has been!!! wonderful

  • dirige molto meglio della maggior parte dei direttori professionisti!

  • this is boaring

  • He was great, I always loved him very much.

  • I was fortunate to see him perform with the San Diego Symphony in 1981. He was superb!

  • His mannerisms remind me of Harpo Marx.

  • I would like to ask as someone knowing nothing about music. Is he really conducting the orchestra or just waving the baton and the orchestra working on their own through sheer knowledge of the piece they are playing? I watched this as a kid as a huge fan of Danny Kaye. I am a teacher now and I feel compelled to show this to my kids. They need to know who this man was and the sheer joy he is feeling at the music!

  • @hanscombe72 He was really conducting. never trained but had such a love for 'classical' music, plus he was a very good singer, he picked it up over the years. A very, very smart and talented man. pity the 'stars' of today are not as talented.

  • how bad that this video had been watched much less than Justin bieber

  • Another Hollywood guy who had to keep his sexuality a secret or risk destroying his career. You're either talented or you're not. Who you sleep with has nothing to do with it.

  • @surfer53 You are another idiot who listens rumors rather than individuals. Kaye's last girl friend, for example, clearly states that Kaye denied being gay, also, depsite all the rumors otherwise, Vivian Leigh, in her memoirs clearly said Lawrence Olivier and Danny Kaye, never got involved. She said she never saw to prove that.

Now, you, and your kind, of course know everything without even having a decent conversation with such people once. Gossipping is worse than being gay, if he was gay.

  • molto bene!!!!!

  • The man is/was simply an unforgettable, multi-talented, big-hearted genius ON NEARLY EVERY LEVEL of entertainment and humanity. Along with Sammy Davis, Jr. I put him at the top of the list of all the greatest entertainers of the 20th Century. There was Astaire and Kelly and Bing and Sinatra, .. but NO ONE could entertain on so many levels as the great, GREAT Danny Kaye. EVERYONE loved him.

  • Danny was and IS the best commedian we ever had on earth!!!!!!!

R.I.P. Dear Danny and THANK YOU SO MUCH

  • he is a very talented man, and these series of clips are very entertaining, however the concept seems very close to a chuch Jones directed bugs bunny cartoon of the 60's, the bugs bunny team were also very talented people and deserve to be recognised as well

  • A TRUE COMEDY GENIUS

  • Nice to see to see the happy new first horn of the Philharmonic, Phillip Myers, here seemingly enjoying himself immensely. And what a player!

  • Thank you so much for putting this on for all to see. My father who has been extremely ill for the last year used to own this on VHS and I always loved to watch this with him. This is something I've been wanting to see more and more and you helped brighten my day! Thank you once again and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! God bless you....

  • Back in the day to be an actor you really had to have talent. It wasnt enough to be pretty or handsome like so many so called actors today. You had to be able to sing, dance, act, hold numerous talents, be physically funny, play an instrument. Here was a man of true talent, repose, and a gentlemen. His quality has no fear of time, he will always be funny, he will always be great, he will always be missed. I take my hat off to you sir Kaye, thank you for all the years, laughter and tears.

  • A Genius!

  • I agree with what most of the others wrote. What a wonderful man!! We don’t have such genius around any more these days. But 74 was no age to die! Danny died from a heard attack following hepatitis which he contracted after having been given a blood transfusion with contaminated blood. So sad!!!

By the way, I believe in his later years he was wearing a toupee. I think he is also wearing it during this very concert. I may be wrong, but when taking a closer look…..

  • @MartinUnterlaa Uou'd - be incorrect about any toupee, but thanks for playing. You know, just because someone gets older, does NOT mean they are condemned to loose their hair. Many full heads of hair can last to the grave and beyond.

  • u r soooo right kelila saludos from argentina tks obeca

  • We miss a Genius loko ypu Danny!!!! :-D

  • All of my respect, all of my love. That what he had got from me. Precious man! <3 <3 <3

  • Oh my god just after watching the first few minutes I was laughing like crazy! What an amazing man and what an amazing talent. He had the audience in his palm the second he got onto the stage. I wish I coul'd have seen the show right there in the audience.

  • The greatest comedian ever, after Charles Chaplin. A great man. Very few rose to his sature. No wonder he was ,or still is, a Unired Nationa ambassodor.

  • Danny was wonderful. Seems like too many of the best are taken from us too soon

  • @shadowmia22 74 is a respectable age to make it to.

  • My favorite Rossini's ouverture...

  • A very rare man indeed ! What a glorious talent !

  • Ruhun şadolsun baba. Cem Yılmaz diye bir lavuk seni taklit ediyor şu aralar, bilesin...

  • Hahahaaa, ilahi NikonF4e kardes :)))

  • @NikonF4e

    neyi etmiyor

  • ıf you like this man you must watch CEM YILMAZ.he is very talented like Danny Kaye

  • Danny Kaye was The Only One! What a talent! I miss him dearly:-(

  • A rare rare, special man!

    From Sao Paulo - Brazil

  • Danny Kaye - Genius!

  • this is brilliant

  • Great post but spoiled by the fake widescreen effect. Any chance of reposting in correct format?

  • the real man for all seasons

    Danny Kaye

  • Thanks for posting this

  • Thank You for this very nice Video.

I saw this Show in 1985 in German TV only one Time.

After this Year I´ve never see it again till Yesterday here on You Tube.

    Thank You once again

from a old man from Germany ;-)

  • very nice!

  • awsome, he ist sooo cool! I like him so much! Er ist einer der wenigen Stars die ich mal gerne persönlich getroffen hätte!

  • As a Danny Kaye look-a-like, I am most appreciative for this posting! He was an entertainer in the truest sense- affable, accessible, and brilliant! One of the most gifted performers of any generation, he was a true original. R.I.P. Mr. Kaye. We are all the better for your gifts to us.....

  • I can't tell you how grateful I am of this!!!!!!!!

  • The look on his face says to me that if he died right then, it would be cool.

  • kikaiookami there is a program you can buy over the ney called video piggy and it lets you downlad any youtube file. it costs $24.95 I think.

  • thank you so much for sharing... I still remember that - and it will be always in my heart. Danny Kaye was such a wonderful actor, such a kind soul. You brought back a lot of memories...

  • It's too bad that this show was presented to a

kid audience. They'd get a real kick out of watching Mr.Kaye

perform with The NYC Philamonic orchastra.

  • I feel sorry for the musicians!

  • Hes "conductors" hand is the best I have ever seen.acording to the fact that he can not read music from the paper,HE IS APSOLUTLY FABULOUS

  • Danke! Danke!

Ich habe das Konzert nur noch auf einer kpl. abgelatschten VHS-Kassette, wo man nur noch was erahnen kann.

  • I just LOVE this guy. He was the best!

  • Who knows the name of the first piece of music Danny performs with the orchestra? It's a marvelous piece of music. Thank you for your kind help.

  • It's the overture to Rossini's opera La Gazza Ladra (The Thieving Magpie).

  • THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!!! You are most kind to have replied to my question.

  • absolute genius :-) his work with the audience somehow reminds me of Bobby McFerrin's style a few decades later...

  • what year is this ?

  • Thank you, thank you very mach, but.... why I see only 1,3,7 and 8 part of this event?

  • I just got to say...THANK YOU!!! Thank you so much for posting this!!! I've always wanted to see this and I can't say thank you enough for it!! Is there any way I could get this from you? Like the files? I won't reproduce it...I'm not that sort. I'd only watch it at home. I wouldn't sell it or mass distribute it.

  • Thanks so much for posting this!

  • Thanks a lot ... really great posting! i was looking for this a very long time! i had just an old VHS but incomplete ... thanks again

  • Because I wanted to see all of this concert, we wish to express our gratitude.
