ALABAMA...They like no other held the talent and secrets that makes what music really is....They harmonize very well with voice and instruments. They do a fantastic job. This song hasnt been too well known because it counts more so for those years back then. That was my dads era and he tought me to play this song as a young kid.. Its one of my favorites!
It's probably because I am the same age as these guys, but when I watched this video the first time back in the 80s, it's like I was transported back to my high school years. Now another twenty five years later, and rewatching the video takes me back to not only my high school years but those days when I was a young parent and professional getting on with life. Now, I'm not that way anymore either. Great song. Great memories (both times). Thanks for posting.
@birminghamWILDCAT It was not recorded at Fort Payne High School. The video was just filmed there. I have Roll On on CD and the liner notes state that the song was recorded during a concert in Dallas.
This song reminds me of my carefree irresponsible days hot rodding my '66 "cuda" and pissing my paycheck away in less than a day......miss my "cuda"...and my paycheck.........I've had to change....damn sure not that way anymore......Yoo-Hoo!!
I actually really like this song. It is rarely included as a greatest hit, but should be. The part of swapin loafers for cowboy boots and giving away all the suits and getting jeans reminds me of when I went to college.
GREAT SONG, GREAT MEMORIES, THE GREATEST BAND EVER!

It's on Roll On but it sounds live because it was origionally recorded and filmed at Fort Payne High School in front of the student body.
