Apparently, in this iteration, though mortal outside of the dream world he still retains his dreamlike abilities to warp reality. This is different from the movies in which he's pretty much nothing outside the dream and easily beaten (though killing him sends him right on back to the dream world, so who cares).

@jtdrummerboy OG Freddy's face may have been frightening to little children in the 80's, but nowadays he just looks goofy. New Freddy looks more realistic and, in my humble opinion, more evil, which makes this particular appearance more suited to the game and his role in it.

Also, why are you so hung up on looks anyway? Judging from his abilities, everything else about him seems to be based on the original Freddy.

And his cameo in Soul Calibur 2 was lackluster @ best...I owned the Gamecube version and Link wasn't even all that really...Probably a bit better though. Spawn has many reasons he could fly for this game, but i dunno about him in mk9, man...
