  • In Google: Airborne aerial unmanned bulletproof combat drone of monitoring system.

  • when was this video made? 1994?

  • do anyone know what kinda antenna will be used in ucav and and ucav communicates with ground control and satellite?

    also secure communication?

  • @lokeshthebeast It must be a secured comunication, because these UCAV's r not intended 2 be used against insurgents with now SAM capability only. They're intended 2 be used against major powers as well. THIS is the technology US should focus on, if u ask me, not the useless F-35. They should cancel the F-35 and focus the funds on UCAVs only. F-35 is useless & it also costs a lot of money.

  • A powerful military is all about technology...

  • Wrong!

If that were true Nazi Germany would have won.

It's all about the heart of the soldier.

  • pfff, heart of the soldier^^ But let me correct myself... Its also about numbers and geographics (to some degree). But If you are absolutely superior in technology you are sure to dominate the battlefield.

However, the "heart of the soldier" does has a lot to say when it comes to gaining good reputation among the people in an area you want to control, cannot do that with a bunch of soldiers without good ethics and morale:O

  • Your absolutely right. There are many MANY factors that contribute to victory.

My biggest concern with UAV's stems from the way people tend to embrace them as somehow superior than a piloted combat vehicle. I'm not implying that UAV's do not posses certain advantages over their human counter parts. But technology is ever evolving. What the military thinks is secure data-links today, might be hacked tomorrow. Whereas a soldier fights with passion, regardless of his technological status.

  • @bnther36

Bhah - secured datalinks? You mean that one?

    guardian. co. uk/technology/2009/dec/17/skygrabber-software-drones-hacked

  • Wrong!

It's all about the commander's strategery!

  • yup..really it does, the heart of reinch....the nazi soldier and the kamikaze will won the WW2...

  • Why does it appear that uavs of this nature were used in 9/11 servalence? why were they used?

  • m1ndfr34k117:

Did you not see the F18 pilot who died in the first gulf war just come home to finally rest. He was the first casualty of the war. Also, did you not see in the news the F22 pilot who died a few months back out near Edwards AFB? I am a pilot but some of the aircraft we are developing are so far advanced in the rare chance things do go wrong, sometimes a human pilot can not recover. In certain situations, a UCAV would be ideal.

  • Why do we need UCAV's? All that does is take jobs away from people, destroy dreams, and cost more money; And for what? Do save pilot's lives? We haven't lost a pilot in over 20 years. Besides, I would rather die at 30 flying a plane than die at 100. I'm sure I'm not alone.

  • .... Destroying dreams?

  • dreams of flying in the air... dreams of becoming a pilot.. ;)

  • Hi-five, I second your opinion! :D

  • Yes, you are alone, it may be shocking to ypou but people don't want to die in general, people have families and friends and allarodund something worth living for. On top of that UCAV's are in fact CHEAPER than normal planes beacuse you dont have to care for the pilot and his equipment. A UCAV is basically some engines, a powerful computer and bomb space. Why do you think the army would develop something that's worse and costs more?

  • exactly!!

  • That was so cool!!!!

  • at the start i thought it was pegasus, but it aint. they want pegasus to be on aircraft carriers by 2015.

  • pegasus, is that the x-45B? i forget...

  • The Pegasus is the X-47B.

  • Does anybody know exact name of this ucav program? I'was trying to find it but it seems that this program was canceled.

  • Those look like the Cormorants. They are submarine launched.

  • Yes your right they do don't they are aren't they?

  • Submarine launched ones.

  • Yeah, I would imagine that is already outdated technology if it's available for public viewing.

  • presentation from 1994 or so?

  • awesome public relations department Lockheed has.

  • this proyect is awesome..i love UCAVS
