Props to Koji on this. He portrays perfectly what Claus is feeling. He's been lost and remembers nothing..... And slowly he begins to remember. Who he was, what he's done, and what he can never be again. He gives himself up so that he won't cause the ones he cares about any more harm. In the end.... Claus is a poor lost soul looking for someone to love him. And this song perfectly describes that.

@Syt96 Actually, the fact that Pokey changed his name is a common misconception - His Mother 2 name does translate to "Porky", but for some reason when localizing the game for North America they changed it to Pokey. Either they didn't want to offend fat people, or they just didn't get the joke.

This game is just downright depressing, but it shows of how there can be just as many bad things happening to you as there are good things. You can never expect good things to happen all the time, and only the strong willed can survive through such harsh conditions.

Lucas is one of those people with strong wills, no matter how sad he became as time passed.

Lucas, you are one brave and strong soul to be living on for the sake of others in your family...

On that note, just as a suggestion, you could put "Angel's Fear", the title screen music of Secret of Mana, on your list seeing as it really is a beautiful and relaxing piece.

@JuanDVene If you play the game/watch an LP of it, it'll become more obvious. The Dark Dragon is essentially a being that has the power to change the world. In the game, it's described as "whoever pulls the Needles, their heart will be passed on to the Dragon". So if a good guy pulls them, the Dragon is good. If a bad guy pulls them, the Dragon is bad. Lucas had to awaken the Dragon because Porky was making the Masked Man pull the Needles, which'd be bad. Plus, everyone survived the cataclysm.

he he, I realized that nearly all nintendo series did something that changed video gaming, mario for example was the first jumping game, first sidescrolling game, and the first 3-d game, zelda was the first game that was free-roaming, and also officially known as the greatest video game of all time, metroid was the first to combine two series (link & mario), and the first heroine in video game, mother was the first rpg game to be in modern times, and f-zero has inspired sci-fi racing games...^^
