  • Because the Bush era tax cuts worked so well.

  • SANTORUM RUBIO 12

  • Romney/Rubio 2012....Rubio for President 2016

  • If this works why isn't every politician doing it?

  • Romney Rubio 2012

  • Okay now we know that won't work. What will? Why don't you start working on that?

  • @Charlie12241 He did, it's called cut, cap and balance.

  • @archonsnumber1 The govt. needs some taxes or borrow money.

  • increased taxes for the rich would help.

  • @JagermeisterDetox How, by limiting their spending on goods therefore limiting the economy even more. That is a terrible idea.

  • America definitely needs you as a President!!!!

  • @gananciasenlared

    Rubio is an asshole!

  • RUBIO/WEST 2020!

  • Until we force companies to stop sending jobs overseas, until we get copyright reform that actually works, until we reform patients to the point where someone holding a piece of paper and doing nothing with it can sue the hell out of people that want to give Americans jobs, tax reform is a joke. We need to tell corporations that unless you have at least 60% of your workforce here you are no longer welcome and your copyrights will no longer be honored. Everything that company had will be gone.

  • @Rebelphoenix Not honoring copyrights...that would be even more catastrophic than the fictitious debt limit.

  • @steveharrell2011 No, They would go into the public domain, and anyone who had a great idea would be able to pic it up and run with it. It would be EMBRACING the American ideal rather than the companies destroying it today. No more buying votes, no more treating companies like people. For the PEOPLE by the PEOPLE, not the corporations not their greed.

  • @Rebelphoenix Other issues aside, by threatening copyright suspension the government would be committing extortion.

  • So what is the point in posting the same comment over and over? What does that make you, mega stupid, ultra stupid? He may seem gay to you, but you write like an obsessive psychoneurotic compulsive whore!!!

  • Rubio can be the GOPs Rock Star. They need younger candidates to get votes for the LIBERAL youth.

  • This man will be in the White House someday. He has more then BOOK SMARTS.

  • Talk is cheap, ask Obama. What bills are Rubio proposing to cap spending. My guess is like Obama, Rubio will open his mouth and let the words flow out and do nothing.

  • It is easy to state the obvious and do nothing. The problem is corporations own Washington. GE makes Trillions on wars. But the country is broke and Rubio and the GOP will not talk about reducing defense spending or making GE pay taxes like Reagan did.

  • I really like him however I have two problems 1. How do we stop outsourcing, I don't believe this country can compete with the low wages corporations pay other countries to do jobs we should be doing. 2. are there tax break regulations that can be offered to "job creators" who take the money and run off to other countries with it, or just stuff it back in there pockets?

  • We need leaders like Marco Rubio....straight talk and common sense. I get so tired of the Mitch McConnells...Harry Reids...Nancy Pelosi, etc. Let's talk TERM LIMITS too! Career politicians will never benefit anyone but themselves.

  • finally a no-nonsense guy that just wants to get this crisis solved.

  • Finally, someone who is being accountable as an elected leader in Congress!!

Rubio- Putting it on the line on what Real Hard working Americans do everyday in the real world. Pay their bills!! Budget your Finances. Better themselves.

Rubio tells the facts. Listen to him... Go - Senator Rubio.

  • God I wish he was our president right now. What a breath of fresh air. Look for Rubio in the future for POTUS!

  • Absolutely logical and correct. He would crush OBLAMER in a debate! I can't wait to see the debates in 2012.

  • @1Makyo Yeah and you reported,

  • You have to be an idiot not to agree with this young man. Just run for president, my fellow American.

  • I am waiting for him to voice his concerns about the Federal Reserve. Great speaker, great leader.... I just want to make sure he doesn't become a typical republican who will vote for something just because our republican president wants it. (Basically the entire bush administration.

  • @1Makyo I sure am, I even hate people like you. Because people like you are the true ignorant and deluded. I suggest you stop following me now, or dire consequences will follow. K, bai .

  • @polymorphicmetalaloi Sorry, I can't help Obama fluffers who have no logic!

  • God Bless Marco, you are a true leader, I pray that the nation listens.......

  • I know many people will hate me for suggesting this but I believe the US needs to introduce a Federal consumption tax.In the US there is a disproportionate tax burden placed on income tax payers. For example In 2009 and 2010, Exxon Mobile paid only $39 million on its $9.9 billion profit - an effective tax rate of only 0.4%. Although everyone hates taxes the benefit of a consumption tax is it captures everyone including the corporates.

  • @alcraig BUUUULLLSHIT, BUUUULLLLSHIT that is the best I can do as far a chant on youtube. Exxon mobil paid the most in taxes of ANY US corporation by FAR. They paid over 15 billion in taxes last year alone. If we really want to turn our economy loose how about a flat tax WITH NO excemptions. If everyone knew that they were going to have to pay 10 or 12% this country would go crazy. BTW if you don't believe me then talk to CNN money that is where I got the info.

  • @Lobby75 It is obvious who's side you are on. According to Forbes Magazine they paid NO tax last year TO THE US IRS. So you have a US Corporation that pays no tax in the US, with the help of 20 wholly owned subsidiaries domiciled in the Bahamas, Bermuda and the Cayman Islands (and Switzerland) that (legally) shelter the cash flow from operations in the likes of Angola, Azerbaijan and Abu Dhabi. Something smelly going on. I repeat this is from Frorbes Magazine so go argue with them Mr Lobbyist

  • @alcraig Okay so tell me what side am I on? If someone not federal income tax is so wrong to you liberals then why the hell are you guys so happy that HALF THE DAMN COUNTRY doesn't pay any federal taxes. You guys are so quick to say "yeah but, but they pay state taxes and payroll taxes" so c'mon which one is it? Careful your hypocrisy is showing. BTW before you start bitching about how people are different from evil corporations GE didn't pay a dime either.

  • @Lobby75 So how do you figure I'm a Liberal, because I dare to suggest that US law should apply to US Corporations. In 1890, Congress enacted the Sherman Antitrust Act, a law designed to restore competition and free enterprise by breaking up monopolies. Why can you not state your opinion without resorting personal attacks. Unlike myself you are not interested in anyone voicing an opinion. Your only contribution to this discussion was your suggestion on flat tax. All the rest is just abuse.

  • @alcraig Wow I really thought that you would come more correct than this. I mean you are just throwing stuff out hoping something will stick. Sherman anti trust act? Really?

Alright I will take the bait, lets start over, Do you think that GE should have paid taxes to the Feds? If not then you are a hypocrite. BTW you tried to tell me what side I was on in the very first response, and then called me a lobbyist. C'Mon STEP YOUR GAME UP

  • Chop up the golden goose.. we Democrats need more money! Squeeze the goose! Scare the goose! Jump up and down on it's neck! Threaten it! Torture it! Light it on fire! We'll take away it's food! We Democrats must have more eggs.

Every progressive knows the secret, it's government which lays the eggs. Once all the Geese are gone, they stop gobbling up our eggs, and every egg will go to the poor.

  • Hey ConservateEliberat0r, You have no proof that Rubio is being paid off because he has what deluded liberal Obama whores don't have--principal and fairness. For someone so "open minded" you are a hypocrit!

  • Thank you, Senator Rubio - if there were only more people in Washington who believed as you do!

  • I hate these deluded tea-bagging Koch whores. Paid off and on the payrolls of the corrupted and greedy.

  • @ConservateEliberat0r

You could have just stopped at "I hate".

All the lies and false witness that you bear to justify it only cloud your intent.

  • @mredstriumph <--- Paid off Koch whore.

  • Articulate, refreshing, wise beyond his years. For such a long speech I heard one, I repeat, one um. That shows you he is confident. Unlike our anointed one who stammers with the oh, oh, ummm, umm, ah, ah umm, oh, ummm, ummm, ah, ah, ahhhhhhh. Keep speaking Marco.....we are listening. Thank you for your service. God Bless America.

  • Good speaker, good points especially the call for solutions to be presented NOW.

He falls down at 5:55 in.

Higher taxes on the grossly wealthy will not kill jobs.

Fixing the economy will allow more people to spend, the more people spend the more jobs are needed to support the purchases, and the rich will continue to get richer

  • @brooksvideo1 8:25 answers about jobs. Those rich people are the ones that hold the stock and run the companies that hire workers. Obama wants to tax corporate jet owners, well that may put out of work some people who make jets, service them, run private airports, etc. You tax the rich, they stop spending both in consumption and in hiring or investment of their funds. How do you define "fixing" the economy? I believe it is taking less money from Americans who can then choose how to use it.

  • Between 5 and 6 trillion being held by american corporations and individuals in off shore accounts; the Caymans, Delaware, Panama, City of london, Switzerland, Hong Kong; you name it. Claw it back, tax it, and bestow penalties; problem solved, at least for the short term.

  • Damn this guy is good. A no-bull speaker who cuts through the shit... says it like it is... INTELLIGENT... polished... amazingly articulate. PLEASE Senator... RUN FOR PRESIDENT!!!!!!!!! WE NEED YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This guy is for real. The kind of leader we need immediately. Now I just need to hear his views on foreign policy and I may consider him my next president...oh, well, if he runs that is.

  • @polymorphicmetalaloi oh, And I also don't care what religion he is...entirely irrelevant to this discussion as well. I don't think he believes in anything except his own inflated sense of self importance. There, done.

  • @polymorphicmetalaloi Reality- We are devalueing our currency by endlessly printing more based on nothing but our 'promise' to pay off our debt. Reality- We cannot even sustain current spending levels...let alone the accumulating interest on the debt we already owe. If we don't have entitlement reform we will fail. If we don't stop spending we will fail. This presidents main flaw is the alternate universe in which he resides. Where actions do not have consequences and money grows on trees.

  • @polymorphicmetalaloi I don't think he's a marxist...I think he's an idiot...nearly on par with our last president. You didn't answer the question. At what point do we STOP spending money? I don't care where he was born...at all. It bears no relevence whatsoever to our current problems. He could have spawned off a baboons ass for all I care. You don't conduct fiscal policy on what 'feels good'. You conduct it based on reality. Reality-We have no money.

  • This ACTUALLY has dislikes?!? Who doesn't want this country to go in the right direction?

  • MEDICARE. lol, sorry...phonetically speaking.

  • @polymorphicmetalaloi What a joke! Even if we taxed 'the rich" at 100 percent we couldn't pay this back! He has made us weaker internationally and domestically. He has stripped us of the right to purchase what we need, to decide for ourselves if we WISH to...even. The man you support is a socialist. Not an american in it's best sense. What you would wish for is a European style of government. That is NOT what this country was founded on..individual ability, individual liberty, NOT A NANNY STATE.

  • @polymorphicmetalaloi extended healthcare to millions??? While cutting medicair, driving the price of private insurance through the roof and upending the constitution?! He hasn't prevented a depression, he has merely delayed it, while printing money at an astonishing rate. HOw blind are YOu?!!!! What do you suppose is going to happen to our currency as our Fed devalues our currency? How do you propose to pay back this debt we have accumulated?! More poor financial policy? Tax the rich!

  • I would rather UNbake a cake and extract and reassemble whole, raw eggs back out of it, than try and help a liberal remove and keep his/her head out of his/her backside. I would have a much better chance of getting the raw eggs.

  • @polymorphicmetalaloi are you sh*tting me?! I read the whole article. Did YOu? If you did, you might not have sent me. Direct quote: "Marco's genius was in actually listening to people around the state and compiling the list of ideas," Besides there being at least 23 ideas implemented. He worked at improving his state...I have very little space here. What was barack's big accomplishment. Ensuring infants aborted died. Congratulations on your enlightened leader. I will take marco any day.

  • @polymorphicmetalaloi 'smelly obama'...and after joe biden pronounced him clean and articulate. Careful, your ignorance is showing. And as for Rubio...I do believe he did quite a few things in Florida, like solicit ideas from the public and implement them. Oh, and I am glad you are literate....it will make this 'conversation' more interesting. As for your public school education, I am afraid there is nothing to be done about that, the damage has obviously been grave indeed.

  • @polymorphicmetalaloi He's already shown more economic knowledge in this 12 min. speech (no teleprompter needed) than Obama has in 3 years.

  • @polymorphicmetalaloi QUICK LESSON. The difference between a speech and information...there couldn't be a bigger gap between the hot air that comes wafting from barack obama and what this dude just said. real solutions. Real informtion. No whining. No blaming and NO BS> If you can't tell the difference you must have voted for obama. lol.

  • How can this guy be right? He's not using a teleprompter,he's using common sense and he didn't go to Harvard. How can this be MSM?

  • Cut, Cap & Balance seems reasonable... but we have to balance SOON (say 3 years). Do not wait 10 years to balance... those kind of "fuzzy numbers in the future" will end up not being a serious effort & just "smoke & mirrors". Our problems would only get worse with such slow ideas.

  • Cripes, we need somebody more like Rubio as the Speaker of the House instead of Boehner. Boehner seems confused by Obama's word games and looks like he's about to walk face-first into getting the GOP blamed for this whole mess instead of Obama and the Democrats, who are actually the ones primarily at fault here. They'd have no such luck trying to dupe someone of Rubio's caliber.

  • Comment removed

  • Perfect. We need a lot more people like Senator Rubio.

  • Sir I've been watching you for a while you are outstanding, bless you. We are Americans,You make me proud to say I am an American again

  • Wow.

  • truth. we have a $120 *trillion* entitlement bomb coming down upon our economy. all the leftist rhetoric won't make it go away. this is mathematical economic reality: the welfare state is destroying the economy.

  • Oh...wow...I didn't hear a single talking point rehashed in the last 12 minutes and you know what?

    I LIKED IT.

    RUBIO FTW.

  • How refreshing to hear someone making sense in simple, easy to understand language. I hope America is listening.

  • Masterful.

  • FIGHT THE POLITICAL ESTABLISHMENT, RUBIO! WE DON'T NEED TO RAISE THE DEBT CEILING-THERE IS PLENTY OF MONEY TO PAY OUR DEBTS AND THE MOST IMPORTANT PROGRAMS-SOCIAL SECURITY, MEDICARE, AND OUR MILITARY. CUT EVERYTHING ELSE. FINISH THOSE BIG GOVERNMENT SOCIALISTS OFF ONCE AND FOR ALL.

  • 12 minutes of common sense.....Obama hasn't had 12 seconds of common sense since he took office! Rubio MUST be a VP in 2012!!

  • Logic, realism, and hope. He gets it and always has. The greatest solution is job growth and help American grow and spend money ON THEIR OWN. Marco will always have my support. Keep him in your prayers and in the forefront of all voters. Thank you Marco!

  • No teleprompter? Imagine that...

  • Rubio, Bachmann, West, Cantor – some that get it and are not afraid to be truthful. Read articles: "Debt quotes"

"Obama says debt increase ‘a sign of leadership failure’"

"Obama warns Americans not to panic while he ruins the economy"

"Talk is not so cheap with Obama’s jobs lies"

"Obama continues lies in news conference"

"Deputy AG video shows Obama behind gunrunner scandal"

    "Union agenda is Obama's agenda"

  • @polymorphicmetalaloi I couldn't agree with you more! This is only the second speech that Senator Rubio has given and it was only 11 minutes long. That's hardly grandstanding. Considering the Democrats still have the majority in the Senate, he had to explain in detail what will happen to this country if they don't get their collective act together. He also had to speak slowly and use small words. FL schools aren't want they used to be. I know what you mean!

  • I host a radio program at a News radio station in Florida. I play audio from Sen. Rubio every chance I get. Not because I am a Republican, not because I disagree with Democrats, but because every time I hear Sen. Rubio speak, I completely agree with everything I hear. This guy just makes sense. More people need to pay attention to Rubio's comments...

  • Plain, simple and to the point! Unfortunately, because it is, politicians will not or will not want to understand it. Rubio for President!

  • The speech is great and I agree with everything said but is there anyone in the room? These guys come in and talk and no one see's them accept the few who are watching CSPAN. Did anyone but those who watched this on youtube even see this?

  • @polymorphicmetalaloi In case you aren't aware of the situation, that's what Senators do on the Senate floor. They address the Senate! What they don't do is travel around the country in Air Force One making campaign speeches 365 days a year. Or didn't they teach you civics in high school?

  • The Democrats in that chamber, those who bothered to listen, were probably thinking; "The kid's right, he's right. But how the hell am I gonna get re-elected from my urban base who is on welfare and food stamps? What can I promise them? How am I gonna tell my soccer mom base that they can't have free sports or daycare through the public schools? How am I gonna get votes if I can't get them to buy the free health care deal? How am I gonna BUY votes for my re-election?"

  • I LOVE MARCO RUBIO.

  • No one better than Marco to lay out the problem -- getting out from under all the talking head mumbo jumbo and soundbites -- and articulate a clear plan for solutions. I agree with him 100 percent that our nation's jobless rate is the Number One problem facing us today and should be the Number One priority to address. Now. Do it. You know how to -- Marco just told you. Anything less is unacceptable.

  • My dream is a deadlocked convention that will turn to Marco Rubio for its nominee. Imagine the drama. Imagine the attention. Imagine the acceptance speech. The media can't say he's too inexperienced. That dog won't hunt anymore. Now, imagine the debates. Game! Set! Match! Bye bye, Barry. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

  • Than you Senator Rubio.

“We have rights, as individuals, to give as much of our own money as we please to charity; but as members of Congress we have no right so to appropriate a dollar of public money.” -- David Crockett, US Congressman (1827-1835)

"I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents...." -- James Madison

  • @kruseag Have you ever heard of the 16th amendment? It says "The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes." This was ratified AFTER David Crockett AND James Madison were long dead. So actually, in the modern world, that is, post 20th century, Congress has the EXPLICIT constitutional authority to tax money and spend it on what elected officials decide to spend it on.

  • Those 12 minutes showed more leadership and intelligence than Obama has shown ever. Period. This guy needs to run for President.

  • @diggrbiii He can't run for Pres...Not a natural born citizen ;( but He makes a great Senator...

  • @dwoods828 , pretty sure his parents were immigrants and he was born here

  • @dwoods828 ... I agree Marco is a great Senator. But you need to check your facts; Marco was born in the USA. I sincerely hope, but sadly doubt, he runs for President.

  • @kim3969 OK

  • @dwoods828 :)))

  • @dwoods828 ... I agree Marco is a great Senator. But you need to check your facts; Marco was born in the USA. Born in Miami, his parents were Cuban exiles. I sincerely hope, but sadly doubt, he runs for President.

  • @dwoods828 - Neither was BarackO, who was a below average Senator.

  • @diggrbiii Absolutely. Rubio is right on.

  • Go Senator Rubio!!
