Actually most guys have that higher range and just never learn to use it because it doesn't occur to them in our society. Although I'd say from his B5 and higher that would be atypical like the Eb6 he sings in the live vid of Dedication.
You have a point: a lot of men never discover their potential upper range. I was surprised recently when my 15-year-old son, a baritone, challenged me to find out which of us could sing higher. I'm female, naturally a (pretty rubbish) contralto but I can reach a very strained C6 which I thought would win. He topped that with a higher note - at least D6 I think, maybe E♭!

There are times when it's obvious that he's lip-syncing, but not very many. From what I've seen, he sings live more than he lip-synches. He tries to prove it, too. Sometimes he'll pull the mic away or not sing certain lines.

The woman at the end of the video is not his mom or any other kind of his relative. The lady in the end is a russian composer Pahmutova,she wrote the song and Vitas performed it perfectly well,as always,very emotionaly and gracefuly!! Love him!!!!

There are times when it's obvious that he's lip-syncing, but not very many. From what I've seen, he sings live more than he lip-synches. He tries to prove it, too. Sometimes he'll pull the mic away or not sing certain lines.

Karen, he does sometimes... I mean in some of his live performances, you can tell that he is, but it doesn't discredit that he has a gift to actually sing like that. So its not like yes he lipsynchs and hes a fake but more rather, yes he lipsynchs from time to time.

Everyone wonders if the other songs are lip synched, and yes they are... you can particularly tell he doesn't lip sing in this song, now whether if hes a fake or not, he isn't.... he does have insanely amounts of talent. Long live VITAS!

I was really touched by the warmth and respect that Vitas showed to Madame Alexandra Pahmutova at the end of this video (starting from 05:04). He grabbed her hand as she was going back to the piano stool, led her up stage and then showered her with flowers.Yes, she definitely deserved it. Vitas, you never fail to amaze me!!

Partisan in Belarus was person who didn't want to pay taxes to foreign occupiers while other Belorussians were killed and burned alive by them. If for you it's wrong to fight for freedom of your people against a foreign invader on your own land, then you are a sick masochist.

Partizans has nothing to do with taxes. Partizan in Belarus - was person who was fighting against the Germans who invaded their territory during the WWII.

Look at the entire post for the video, it has translation of the song.
The song is about Belarus, in memory of the people who were slaughtered there during WWII and people who were fighting for freedom against Nazi occupation - about every fourth person in Belarus was lost in the war (more than 2 mln people), the vast majority of whom were civilians.

In particular, the song mentions Hotyn - a place where in 1943 Nazis burned down this Belarusian village completely and burned its entire population of 149 people (75 of them children) alive to avenge partisan's attack on the military.

The woman at the end of the video is not his mom or any other kind of his relative. This is famous Soviet-period composer Aleksanra Pahmutova who composed almost every other popular Soviet song since like 60s (surely not every other song, but she wrote lots of them and almost all were becoming hits).

Aww.. He is like a toddler sometimes. He dances and performs in his OWN way. I like that about him. And I thank him because his songs are different. All most American songs are about violence or sex or drugs or something. Thankyou Vitas! And if you ever come to America or Sweden, I think I will faint. Did you guys know he has a myspace page? He is sooooooo much like a young boy.

Well, he IS still rather young...only 26 now, and probably 23 or 24 when he sang this. What amazes me (besides his voice, of course!) is that he's so composed and grounded in his movements! It's a large part of his incredible stage presence.

I'd say its more a matter of not shattering his audiences eardrums. Microphones are pretty good these days.
I'm not going to debate with you on the gay thing. Even if he was, it wouldn't matter. He's still uber-talented.
Besides, if you don't like him so much, why are you watching all his vid's? :P
