  • GAY!!! come on shadow. y would u even bother doing shit with Q-tip..dude has been off since he tried doing his own thing

  • I want to be in that warehouse knocking down and running through those boxes.

  • I agree that the direction DJ Shadow took with The Outsiders was disappointing. But RJD2's last album, The Third Hand, was an even bigger disaster in which he SINGS and ruins his own beats. I'm not sure what got into either Shadow's or RJ's heads. Maybe the respect and success they were getting got the better of them to the point that they would almost ruin their careers.

But there's still hope out there. There's this producer, Wax Tailor, who's pretty dope. youtube the song/video "Que Sera"

  • If artists bring the same sound each record, people complain that it sounds the same. If artists takes a different approach with each record, people complain that they don't like this album verses that album.

Speaking on 2 of the most distinguished hip hop producers, they've been there and done that, and likely got bored of taking the same old approach. I agree that both said albums were not their most prolific works, but you dislike them now for the reason you liked them in the first place.

  • True his old stuff is gr8, but this is still good. I'ts a fun song.

  • I thought DJ Shadow used to be someone who represented a unique voice in the genre. Now I'm just disappointed in much this sound like everything else, a total regression.

  • Not sure I like the direction that Shadow's stuff has taken...

  • well I don't know what else to say, except that I don't like how it sounds.

  • If this is what Dj Shadow has turned to then it really does look like RJD2 is hip hops only chance. Shame, shadow was a bad man back in the day. cest la vie. viva la hip hop!

  • Awesome song!

  • All of you dickheads with your small minded comments wouldn't know good music if it kicked you in the face. I've been a huge fan of DJ Shadow since I first heard introducing. Don't knock it because it's different. Yes it's upbeat and quite poppy, but who gives a F*CK, it's still damn good. Maybe once you have all put the years of sweat and hard work into producing music like these guys have, your comments might be worth something, till then go back to surfing porn and smoking bongs, WANKERS!!

  • Um...it's endtroducing not introducing. You're such a huge fan you can't even get the name of the album right. Listen to "Why Hip Hop Sucks in '96" and maybe you'll understand.

  • Thanks for that, I'm so glad there are Loudmouth Hero's out there like yourself to point out the little things and miss the point entirely, why don't you take your opinion deep fry it in grease and swallow it with your pride and whatever your favorite fast food staple is, get fat and die young like a good little consumer. PS what do you weigh (just curious?)

  • I give a f*ck his early stuff was some of the best music of the last 20 years.

  • it's because of Q-tip

  • It's the money.

  • go back to the old school shadow, i don't like this no more.

  • I want more dark beats, a string section and sampled voices

  • he failed!!! i am a fan but not this shit!

  • im totaly agre its crap nothing more nothing less he was so perfect on entroducing and private press this is some kind of funny stupid black rap not shadow as before its a shame

  • Im a fan of shadow and q-tip but they failed with this one.

  • yea they both have made some much much betta shit

  • good grief... no good

  • This isn't the shadow I know : (

  • stay away from main stream crap! shadow noooooooo!!

  • Who cares if it's main stream, as long as it's good.

I've been listening to shadow since introducing came out, this is definitely a lot different, but you can't expect the same album over & over again, that would be selling out.

  • hahahahahaha nice one dude so fricken right but eh

  • I respect it for its amazing production quality, but there's just so much less to it than most of shadows music. Not that its bad though, just a lot less interesting.

  • i refuse to believe that this is shadow

  • this is not something i'd think was dj shadow. i don't like this AT ALL. however i love dj shadow, this just sounds really horrible.

  • its an ok song, but this is what you get if you want 2 make a popsong with Shadow (thats why we all love underground, then they are themselves).....

What you hear is the sound of money.

  • it's pretty sick, but it could be just a little better. still epic though. B)

  • is this shadow? i dont think so, what the fuck is this?

  • I expect more out of Shadow

  • i dont know about the beat... could've been fresher

  • This ones for the bank account.

  • word

  • Shadow's originality and innovation really isnt comin through here

  • this sounds hott.

  • Hell yea, great jam. Crazy video, love it.

  • i cant believe dj shadow would do this. =[

  • shadow can do anything and make it good this is your proof

  • Well said brett.

of course it helps that q-tip is a legendary rapper :)

  • genius DJ!

  • I like it...

  • nie wierze ze shadow mogl zaczac robic taka hale, gdzie dawny shadow ! ala

  • nice combo!

  • This is so 80s...would have been a hit 20 years ago, it'S got a good pop feel to it. The video is pretty creative with simple means.

  • which such great ppl in the song i dont think the beat is good enough for the song

  • Oh fucking hell I meant to say shit hot, hot that is, not off.

  • Shadow is shit off but I am off to wath evil 9! Crooked!

  • that is the original shadow, you are looking for his music back in a time. the artists do what they do and you can spam the same cd from 2002 if you want.

  • think its cool he steps out a lil. proves that if he reg. made music for the club, he would dominate that too.

  • I hope he will back some day.

  • anyone knows where are hte lyrics?

  • great song. stop thinkin about what you want shadow to do and just enjoy a feel good song! :)

  • i better like that dusty dj shadow than those mainstreet joints.

  • Well said! I wasn't keen on this when it came out because it didn't feel "Shadow", now I really love it :)

  • boring. Box man was cool for a minute though.

  • shocking, what was shadow thiking

  • this just show the ability and diversity of his music each album he makes is a reinvention of himself in a greater form than before. this song proves we don't need this pop rap that is being crammed down the throat of the hip hop nation. If you dont like shadow suck it . I've been a fan since entroducing and every new I hate until the third or fourth listen. open your mind and shut your mouth.

  • Sorry but I can make better beats than this. Straight up, this is a lame track, really boring track.

As I said, I love Shadow but this is SHIIIIIT! Don't fool yourself.

  • i hated it to, and i loe ATCQ and Shadow

  • mein lieblings lied

  • like that !
