The top 2% pd 40% of all revenues. The top 50% paid 98% of all revenues. So who is not paying their fare share?

We have a very disproportionate tax system already the effective income tax rate at the top was 27% in 09 at the bottom was 3%. In 09 47 million paid no income tax or got back taxes they did not pay. The top 2% pd 40% of all revenues. The top 50% paid 98% of all revenues. So who is not paying their fare share?

@quizerry The 20K scenerio you state would only apply to those who have kids and receive EITC etc. A single,no kids, no ira do pay taxes.
Wages 18k, less std ded 5700, less exemp 3600. Taxable Income = 8650. Tax = 879 less 400 Making Work Pay credit. So tax liability is 479.
What you are stating is the same spin coming out from the White House. They have just screwed the low earners.
Tell this is to the hard working folks in retail and service. Wal Mart, McDonalds etc. Millions are effected.

There is no demand because everyone is discontent and uncertain of what the government is doing. No one is spending so there is little demand and with no demand less supplies needed meaning business aren't borrowing or expanding. $800 billion stimulus caused higher unemployment no jobs created but saved government non productive jobs.

My problem is with the White House spin and lies. Just to add, the Child Tax Credit should go in the Republican column. See the bottom right of page 14 of the Republican Pledge to America.
EITC has been around since the 70's and was supported by both Dems and Repubs. This only leaves Obamas American Oppurtunity Credit for the Dems column.
