Hey, thanks for these tutorials, seems like most of the tricks I want to learn you have a video for. I started working on this 2 weeks ago and can now run it for about 50 catches, im now working on switching to this from the cascade and back.
According to the formula s = ( a * t * t ) / 2, we see that the time which ball spends in the air is proportional to the square root of the height of the throw. Therefore, if 2 balls are in the lower shower and 3 balls in the upper, that means the time ratio for the fall of each ball should be 2 : 3. And time is square-proportional to the height, so that means the height should be 2 * 2 : 3 * 3 (or 4 : 9). That's almost 1 : 2. Look at the video and you will see that height ratio.
I'm trying to learn this in basic steps. One of them is a high 3 ball chase (snake), but making the strong side always go over instead of under. Basically I think it's like the 5b 1/2 shower with 2 balls missing. The other practice is very high 4 ball 1/2 shower and try to create a timing opening to represent a missing ball. Hope this works. If not - then I at least have some nice 'different' patterns!
5b half shower is more difficult than 4 ball shower. If you can do 100-200 catches with 5b cascade, you are ready to try this, I think. If you are comfotable with 4b half shower, that helps alot, too.
Thanks. I forgot to ask about the 5b cascade. Other jugglers suggest knowing it first also. Looks like I'll have to shelf this till later. Many other things to learn till then.
No, it doesn't have to be either sync or async. There are many in-between wierd rythms. I find it more difficult, but if you can manage that, it's perfectly okay.
in how long time you learn the half shower with 5 balls?

There are three ways to juggle 5b half-shower.
The siteswaps are 5, 73 och (6x,4x)
SolanderJuggler 3 years ago
73 and 6x,4x
6x,4x is easier

Ken, Looks great !! How good does a juggler have to get with the 4 ball half shower to learn this? Is it harder than the 4 ball full shower?

Does it matter if the hands move synchronously or not ?
Just wondering.

"With the latter, your hands move synchronously."
And I fought with "the latter" for days trying to make it asynchronous... Thanks for the tip!
