BTW, my house is 4 BR, 3.75 Bath which I had added on this past 2 years. I gave you the layout so stop trying to downplay the facts. You also sound like a Ron Paul loony based on your youtube page
Los Angeles is a Third world country. Why live in CA anymore when you get such a low low standard of living for your money! A college professional with an MBA making 80k per year has to rent! They live in 1 bedroom apartments. Why? Why stay here? You could be living in Florida or Coastal Texas where your STANDARD OF LIVING is 50x higher! The same house that costs 1.1 milion costs $150,000 elsewhere.
SO WHY LIVE IN L.A. ???????????????????????????????????????????????
Standard of living in say Corpus Christie TX or Pensacola FLA is not 50x higher than in L.A. Calling it a Third World Country is also an insult as I live and work in Southern California. BTW, a Professor at CSULB can earn over $100K and can easily finance a house in the LB area (most do), so I think your analogy is misconstrued.
In a Third World country there is no middle class. The rich own everything. You have the "have's" and the "have nots". That describes SoCal perfectly. 100k is NOTHING in SoCal. First. You are taxed at 10.55% state and 28% Federal. Thats $61.450.00 BEFORE SS medicare etc. You make 55k from 100k. YOU CANNOT AFFORD A HOUSE HERE on that. Your only choice is to live in the ghetto and become a mortgage slave OR live in the apartments the rich own. LA IS a Third World City in every sense of the word.
L.A. and N.Y are the only places where you earn 70 or even 100k+ per year and LIVE IN A FUCKING APARTMENT!
And one built in 1959 at that.
Even if you could "easily finance" a house in the GOOD part of long beach you would be a FOOL to do so because what you get in return is a mortgage slave to a basic 2/1 house. The kind of house a minimum wage earner lives in. LA is a fucking FACADE and the only people who live well here are the RICH and connected.
You're still wrong because I own a house 3 blocks from the beach and I was earning less than 60K at the time of my purchase. This is a 2,400 sq/f house with a front lawn, backyard and 2 car garage NOT an apartment.
When did you buy it? 1984 ? People could afford houses once upon a time.
But today you cannot. There has been a huge net migration increase of population into Los Angeles and GLA area. Coupled with a massive increase in illegal/undocumented immigrants. This has made most of the areas in LA UNDESIRABLE AREAS to live, putting further demand/pressure on the good areas (west of 405) massively increasing housing prices. Same as the 3rd world country- you CANNOT get in anymore. It is impossible.
The areas you describe are UNDESIRABLE TO YOU, so stop thinking that your opinion equates FACT because it DOESN'T. There are plenty of Illegal Aliens in Florida and Texas and inbetween so maybe you have a problem living amongst Non-white peoples. If so, boo fucking hoo. Pensacola all the way down to Tampa Bay can look just as 3rd World as anywhere else.
I did say anything about "non-white". It's cultural problem. This has been well discussed. Undocumented workers move in and the final result is destruction of communities as people flle the negative cultural habits they bring with them IT IS NOT RACISM if you lived in LA you would know this. The undocumented immigrants move in - the people move out and this creates upward price pressure on the safe clean areas making then unaffordable. Stop argueing with me you sound unrealistic...
No, I bought in this decade because I live within my means and save money unlike a majority of people (of all generations). L.A. is still a destination for all peoples so your silly "3rd Comments" hold no water. Tell me how great the housing market crash in North and South Florida is going these days?
It is MATHMATICALLY IMPOSSIBLE for you to to have purchased a house "in this decade" in the GOOD AREAS in Long Beach or West LA. We all know what the "good areas" are. That means everything West of 405 and in Long Beach in means everything within 1 mile from the beach. Even if you live live a pauper and make 70k per year you CANNOT AFFORD IT it's a fiscal impossibility so stop making shit up.
You mean your 1 story house built in 1952. A typical 1 story average Los Angeles house , in Florida , is the kind of house that Janitors and people who work at the 7-11 live in. Los Angeles is a Third World city. I've seen the city go down the shitter. I grew up here. Stop trying to defend Los Angeles. Everyone who visits here can see the middle class is GONE. Unless you bought a house early you are shut out and your standard of living here is shit compared to over places like TX and FL.
Oh shut the fuck up already. Pensacola FL, Corpus Christie TX are both hellholes compared to L.A. ESPECIALLY during hurricane season. It's not my fault you don't live in SoCal anymore. Stop blaming others for your misery. Also, go look up the definition of 3rd World before spewing your ignorant comments around.
You are dead wrong when you say the standard of living is not higher. A 7-11 Manager in Pensacola, FL has a higher standard of living than $60-70k/yr office worker in Los Angeles. First - TX and FL have NO STATE INCOME TAX. A HS dropout making $15.00/hr ($30k yr) CAN AFFORD A HOUSE. And not only that. It's NICER than a 500k house in SoCal. Meanwhile the 60-70k office worker with a college degreee goes to his/her 550sqf 1/1 apartment in West LA. Because you would be crazy to live East of the 405.
I've been to Pensacola FL. NO THANKS, I don't care how much a 711 worker makes because your claim sounds like B.S. anyways. West L.A. is not the ONLY part of L.A. so your 3rd World comment still stands as BUNK.
West L.A. is the only desirable part of L.A. to live in. It's safe, clean and low crime. East L.A OR any area East of the 405 looks like a 3rd world hellhole. Bars on the windows , garbage everywhere , high crime , gangs, poor schools it's just disgusting and everyone who visits LA can clearly see it! West LA, South Bay, PV, and the Beaches etc are the only reasonable areas to live in!
West L.A. is a cliche'd over-priced mecca for Hollywood wannabes so it's no wonder you keep zoning in on this area as the "only" place to live in L.A.. I've worked in W. L.A., Santa Monica, and Venice, but have no desire to live there as it is actually dirtier than a lot of areas on Long Beach, Redondo, Huntington, and even North in Ventura.
@LeftLiberalSoCal it's expensive to live comfortably in LA or NY even on a high salary. But that's not about left/right or 3rd/1st world politics, it's about saturation and it's the same everywhere in the world: Paris, London, Tokyo...There's too many people competing over too little space. Demand exceeds supply. If you think rightwing politics work so well, where's the affordable housing in OC? Don't blame state taxes. Without them, 405 would be a toll road lol.
Virginia Country Club that's off of Long Beach Blvd. and San Antonio Dr. have some of the most famous homes in the country. The home from Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Ferris Bueller's House, the Delta Frat House in Animalhouse and the American Pie house, many more too much to mention...not including commercials.
i dont know man, ppl a full of shit . this is an old ass video, like 3 years old or more then that, u guys got nothing esle to say that some russian bitches walking around, i look at u when u go somewhere in tibet or whatever n open ur mouth wide n stare around like dumb fucks!!! if u dont have nothin better to say dont say nothing, byt the way i live in yorba linda now, houses in long beach dont even compare to those we have here
I think the most expensive parts of LB are in the Naples harbor area where homes are on the market for $5 million. There was a home a couple of years ago that sold for $8 million. I know the 1st street area where these girls are walking and Reno Room/36-36/and Gallagher's are great places to hang out and drink.
I have no idea who these people are that can afford it! OR why they would even want a house here! These houses are nothing! They are old , unimpressive and way over priced! It baffles me why ANYONE would pay so much for so little! Ever see the house in Sleeping with the Enemy? You can get that house for what people pay in Los Angeles. Makes no sense to me! Who are these people and why are they so stupid to spend so much money for so little. For Sale: Average 3 bd 2 bth built in 1957 for 950k. WTF
dumb bitches walking through the rich part of long beach...come through on 21 st and rep ur gay ass city out loud...knocked ur bitch ass...dont hate cuz LB got rich parts in it...dirty ass carson aint got shit!
nah actually LB, CA is the best. we actually have a REAL beach... not a harbor, or a ship port... its a BEACH. with waves, sun, sand, girls in bikinis and water you can swim in w/o getting hypothermia. AND we got the bombest corn man around. <-- if you from the real long beach then you feel me about the corn man haha
Come on now.....We have the beach on the Atlantic Ocean. Once you step off the beach the next stop is England. We also have a 2 mile boardwalk. Greatest town on earth......Google Earth it and youll see
who cares about england. we can wake up in the morning, paddle out, hit the freeway to the desert n hit the dunes til around 7-8pm, then hit the mountain for a night session in the snow. and it all started in good ole Long Beach California

I said that even IF you earn 70k-100k you will NEVER afford a house to own.
