I was going to go to my uncle's house on sunday that day to watch the football game ( he lives in Alden street which is near that park and the two ponds), but couldn't get through cause they blocked it. Also my friend's basement right across from Wendy's (Stav's) used to be was flooded fully. I like three houses away from Midwest Bank, hope you guys are alright and got insurance taken care of it.
my neighbors driveway was at about 2 1/2 ft when i walked over to take him out 3:30am Sunday. His pickup wouldn't have gone anywhere. My place was about those levels at 5:00 in the afternoon Sunday. I'm expecting the worst. Still need video or pictures for insurance. I too lost my camera cell phone while evacuating.
I'm not sure when or if they opened the Elmhurst Quarry downstream, I'd imagine they did. I'd think that opening it soon enough would keep creek levels futher upstream in this area of addison low enough to avoid this flooding... $100 million in flood enhancements looks like it bought about a foot...
Thanks for posting. The water got much higher than in the pictures here. I hope anyone with updates can post. Almost '87 levels, only about a foot lower. Louis Reservoir didnt seem to provide that much relief.
Yes, the water got much higher than in these photos. I did get photos the next day, the water was 5-6 feet deep in the park but my daughter dropped my camera in the water and ruined my photos (and camera.) :(

I'm in the gray framed house across from the apartment buildings. Looking for footage for the insurance company. If you can upload anything further I would greatly appreciate it.

I know people have video footage of the '87 flood, people in boats were recording footage. I'd like to see that footage again.
