Ya´Allah this is good! I would LOVE to see a collaboration between Ustaad Javed Bashir and A.R Rahman sahib. And I would like it to be a song like the tabla-qawwali sequence in the middle of "Kehna hi kya" from the Bombay movie.
That´s one song I´ve cut-recorded to play exactly THAT little sequence over and over again. But I still can´t get over the beauty of it........
I know you´re going to laugh but....I hope A.R Rahman sahib reads this. One never knows, only Allah hu alim.......
@Khwaab I agree, what a collaboration that would be. I think even though people who understand music know much about Javed sahab, I think he is still the most underrated singer of all time, he has so much talent, but I guess it is understandable because he is only 37, I am sure in the near future he would be recognised on a bigger scale.
SUPAAAAAAAAAAR YAAR AMAZING..JAVEED BASHIR THE ONE AND ONLY LIVING LAGEND..AND MANY MORE LIKE RIAZ ALI KHAN AND RAHAT FATHE ALI KHAN..SO MUCH TALENT IN PAKISTAN..SALUT AMAZING
Great performance from Javed Bashir as always, but I think he sort of stole the limlight from Ali Abbas and made him look very amateur, Javed was improvising alot of the performance and Ali Abbas wasn't quite with him all the time, Javed Bashir took the opportunity to show off his talent in India which he did well!
i like the meekal hassan version better... guitars and rock.... indians kinda never surfaced that much in rock and metal? not as much as pakistanis..... am I right?
i'v bin listenin 2 MHB for 3 years now..so i'd always bin a fan of mr.bashir..and so..when my entire nation is pissed of with pakistan..i differ..coz i belive i know wat pakistan realy is..dis video shows da real pakistan..not somw motherfuckers in waziristan..nd um realy sad 2 hear dat he's left MHB(mekaal hasan band)..neway..the jamming dun here..is..unbelievable..never seen anything like this..greetings from west bengal,India ...\m/..music rox...al qaida sucks dick..
they are lookkinh soo good together like brother i love this song i never liked songs like this but because of ali abbas i like this songg love ali abbas god bless you
@malaika297 its song done by javed bashir....if you search for his songs you can find it...he had a band where he did classical/rock fusion...forgot the name its from that band
@00anonymous00 ..it was called Mekaal Hasan Band...the guitarist was the brains but clearly Javed was awesome..also check out Javed on Coke Studio Season 1 and 2
the original song is ANDHOLAN by MEKAAL HASSAN BAND...search it on youtube...and you guys will experience the fussion and of eastern and classical music...
@krrish420 thanx..music transcends geographical boundaries ..comment coming from a country with such a rich tradition of its own musician is really heartening!
@krrish420 - they are actually khans to be honest who have the treasure of the good music and entertainment and art in general...I name few Nusrat fateh ali khan, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Yousuf Khan (Dilip Kumar) Shah Rukh Khan, Imran Khan....etc etc etc.
@krrish420 Seriously, some assholes tear the image apart of both nations on both sides, but Indeed its people like you who help keep the bonds of love and affection between the Two Sister Nations.
I completely agree with you junaid. In India the Band culture is only in its developmental phase. Javed Bashir Racks.and Mahi frm their new album is simply awesome.
yeah dude check out my cover of in dino coz main meekal hassan band ka buhut bara fan hoon per yaar in kay songs kafi difficult hotay hain but i wish k kash main bhi javed bashir ki tarah singing kar sakoon
7stars for Pakistani Talent ..... and now Indian audiance must accept the realities and positive aspects of Pakistan and Pakistani ppl cuz they are accustomed only to criticise .... Peace for all ^^ Pakistan Zindabad ..... cheerz !!!
Javed Bashir is a magician. He has proved this in Coke Studio season 2 that he is by far the greatest singer of the present time. He sang some of the most difficult raags in the music world with a lot of ease, in the Coke Studio Season 2.
yes i agree with u once again, its really hard to sing like this, and javeed bashir is just awesome, out of this world,i had never seen any 1 singing like this live in a reality show, most of the singers who comes as a guest sings very soft songs, but look at javeed bashir singing some thing that no 1 will even try it at home. he belongs to the family of USTADSS and it shows.
what a talent.... its great to see that new generation of gharanas have done so much justice to their forefathers names. I wish javed bashir could one day sing "mayay ni main kinnu aakhaan" by madhu laal hussain cos someone has to carry the legacy of hamid ali bela and he is the best of the lot.....
Really awesome, they definetely have music in their blood. Javed Bashir my name sake, is he the son of Bashir Khan Qawwal? and is Ali Abbas is the son of famous Pakistani singer Ghulam Abbas? Ther both have the same voice quality. Can some body clarify my above quiries. The language is PURBI (dialect of Hindi spoken in eastern UP in INDIA)

No Hindi dialect is spoken natively in Pakistan, let alone eastern dialects like the one in this song. Native urdu speakers in Pakistan were mohajers, who moved from Delhi-Lucknow region ... and their dialect is khari boli, which sounds nothing like this. And don't tell me that a punjabi, sindhi or pashtoon speaks hindi like this !!
Tohre instead of Terey, Mohe instead of Mujhey, ratiyaan instead of raatein, use of -ve instead of -ye in verbs like aave, gabrave is out and out Eastern Hindi.
Urdu and Sanskrit are different languages, spoken in vastly different time frames. Sanskrit was an ancient language spoken in northern India and (what is now) northern Pakistan. And Urdu is a modern day descendant of Sanskrit, with many Arabic and Farsi words.
Hindi and Urdu are merely labels for the same language, with differences in vocabulary. Besides, unlike Pakistan, there are around 40-50 million NATIVE speakers of Urdu in India, both Hindus & Muslims.
@435asif , well actually more persian and arabic words were added in the language . In the core, these two are same languages with same grammatical structure.
For the same reason that an Indian like Gurpreet Singh Shergill (aka Rabbi Shergill) sings 'Bulla ki Jaana', a song of a punjabi sufi from (what is now) Pakistani punjab!
Btw, mind you, I am not asserting that this song is Indian, merely that the dialect this song is composed in is Indian (spoken in/around Allahabad and Bihar)!
Now I'm feeling really ashamed because I could not understand even a word though I studied Urdu-Hindi on my own for a considerable period of time. When I listen to songs in Urdu-Hindi, I can easily catch some words and if it's a qawwali, I can easily tell if it's Urdu or Panjabi but not this time.
If possible, I know I might be asking for too much, could someone type the lyrics in Perso-Arabic script or Devanagari?
Shukriya Shafqat Amanat Ali! One more request, what does he say later on in the chorus part? Vasim555 has given the translation below for that part "I spend the nights by counting stars...
The separation teases me, makes my heart tremble..." I can only grab the word taare.
You speak the truth my friend...there have never been greats in classical from the Indian soil of the Sub-continent...names u have mentioned are just the tip of the iceberg...Ustad Amanat Ali, Ustad Salamat Ali Khan, Hamid Ali Khan, Asad Ali Khan, to name only a few...the whole Patyala gharana...i mean the list goes on and on...such magical melodies and tunes, u are lucky to have heard them
i'm an indian. and totally agree with devil. nothing shameful about it. i reckon pakistani talent in classical stream is way beyond! i suggest you all better get to appreciating better stuff rather than wasting time on the bad. peace!
guys i am born and raised in uk ive been working with several best musicaians from past 32 years but ive seen classical singing is only in PAKISTAN indian bollywood stupids have destroyed their singing culture this is what indian classic music is i am the biggest fan of Nusrat ,Rahat, and Javed Bashir, amazing vocalists and classic into pop jammers
its not right to say its a talent gifted from god and you can go to any part of world you will find in different ways ,ustad bismilah khan ,wadali bros, hariprasad chaurasia ,zakhir hussain ,jagjit singh and many more legends that you won't find in pak.

I sorry to say this is not like that.
Actually the pure dialect of hindoos is very difficult to carry on thats why they merged sanskrit with urdu and they called hindi.

Shukriya Shafqat Amanat Ali! One more request, what does he say later on in the chorus part? Vasim555 has given the translation below for that part "I spend the nights by counting stars...
The separation teases me, makes my heart tremble..." I can only grab the word taare.
Thank you in advance

Hello,
The lyrics are Panjabi I suppose, aren't they? Would a native speaker be so kind as to write down the lyrics (and the translation if possible) here?

No this is Aryan Urdu, its says
"Without you I don't find peace...
My heart feels suffocated by thinking about our pleasant time... I spend the nights by counting stars...
The separation teases me, makes my heart tremble...
I don't find peace; I don't find peace...
"
