[AMSTRAD CPC] Dragon's Lair Part II : Escape From Singe's Castle - Review & Longplay

I remember playing this Amstrad CPC game a lot as a child with my sister, but it was the tape version, and had the levels in different order (the first one was the checker screen, the second one was the rapids, just as @Rockto11 described). Also, you had to wait for a tape load between levels, of course.

I also loved the music. Sometimes I just listened to the intro music (with the cover art and the scrolling credits) for a long time :-)

I literally had over 1000 games for the CPC, and I missed this one? was it one of those only released in France or Spain perhaps?

Oh wow, Ron Hubbard did the music for this game as well? That man is a true musical legend.

This one is so much more playable than the first one. I recall playing this one to bita, alas the tape version i had was errored. Also it had the lvls switched around (i recall there being a small paper in the game box explaining this .. but cant recall why they changed lvls around). Another thing that show how well made this game is, is the loading. If you encounter a read error,the game will tell you to rewind and try again (any other game at the time would just had crashed). Awesome audio too

Good video. I have this on cassette for the 464, but on my copy, the first level is the checker board room, and the second level is the rapids. I've never got past the rapids. Do you know why my version would have the levels in a different order?

Everything else is identical (title screen, graphics, music, gameplay etc.)

this looks absolutely amazing, great video Xyphoe. great atmosphere in this game i am really impressed , on the spectrum its more like a medieval acid trip simulator

@ZXAmiga64 Thanks mate! Quite an impressive product, a lot of effort has gone into the presentation and music ... pretty good for 1986/7. I wasn't so impressed with the Speccy version though, no.
