Kashmir was legally signed over to INDIA by its ruler in 1947. Pakistan sent in gunmen to snatch it illegally. This is the bases of the long battle and the world understands this. India has to fight terrorists and keep law and order. Arundhati is talking in vacuum. You can not go on dividing on religious grounds.Abusive lingo from some Pakistanis is not going to change the facts.

@rasputin7880 yes in 1947 there were 10% Hindus now even less than 1% in Pakistan,but do u know how many Muslims were in India in 712? there were 0% Muslims in India in 712,but when Muslims attacks India of Hindu accepted Islam,not by forces but by choice they accepted Islam and now Muslims have two separate countries in India, why? because Islam is dominating religion,so Hindus and Christians in Pakistan are accepting Islam by choice, even in next few years there would be 0% Hindus in Pakistan

@rasputin7880 and why not India should held referendum in India,ur leadership has promised with the public in UNO in 1947 and in ur parliament in 1953, there will be free and fair plebiscite in Kashmire to decide what they want, millions of people want freedom from India in Kashmire, but only few hundred want freedom from Pakistan in Baluchistan, so you can not compare Kashmire and Baluchistan, Kashmirs never accepted India as their homeland,but Baloch people join Pakistan by referendum in 1947

@rasputin7880 you know what was the rule of division of India in 1947?? let me tell you the rule, it was that the areas which are Hindu majority will be called as India and areas which are Muslim majority will be called as Pakistan, while there would be referendum for areas which did not have clear majority, so because of this rule, Punjab was divided, Baluchistan and KPK province joined Pakistan, same referendum was the right of Kashmire and they are demanding same till that time,

@lovenaxalite yes u correctly quoted the rule.but kashmir is hindu holy land.kashmiri muslims have made hindu pandits,sikhs & jews migrate from kashmir.they thought by doing so they will be the sole owners of kashmir.it is not so.kashmir doesnot belong to kashmiri.it belongs to india.if muslims want to live there peacefully they can.but if they revolt they would be suppressed with an iron fist,we r not compelling them to live in kashmir.they can migrate to pakistan,BUT WE WONT LEAVE KASHMIR.

@lovenaxalite i am not antimuslim.but what muslims did to their hindu neighbours in kashmir is barbarious.no country will remain united purely on religious grounds.u must be aware of that by ur own experience with east bengal.u must also note that separatist movement began in kashmir only in the 1990"s by pak instigation.pak should stop encouraging separatism.u have ur own problems in balochistan.u should not intimidate ur neighbours.about kashmir being holy,havent u heard of amarnath pilgrimage

@rasputin7880 look my brother, we did not ask India to separate Kashmire from them, we just say that India should give the right to Kashmiris to decide what they want, than see what they want, they should be given three options as per the 1947 law of division, they can even join you, and we will be happy if they join you, we will be happy if they vote for separate country Kashmir and we will be happy if they join Pakistan.

@rasputin7880 the Kashmire which under control of Pakistan is not the part of Pakistan till now even, the Pakistan administered kashmir has its own PM, own president, own assemble, own MLAs, own judiciary, own police, we did not share any thing with them except defense, currency and foreign office, rest all they have seperate,we Pakistani can not buy land in Kashmire, can not vote in Kashmire, nor they can vote in Kashmire, so we just want plebiscite in both Kashmirs, Pakistani, Indian and China
