Amazing..almost anything I can remember from my childhood as far as commercials or music I can find it on here YT ....Things I thought I'd never hear or see again and this record commercial I remember to a T and here it is again....My sister has an album called"Childrens Classics" and it is done by the same group:The Jingleheimers..The cover has a rocking horse on it and sounds like the songs on this commercial, but are different ones..The album(The Classics one) is dated 1980, we still have it.
Awesome!!! I haven't seen this album in more than 30 years ago. As far as I can remember, this came out about 1979 or so. Thanks a MILLION for posting this!!!
Wow! I use to listen to this collection all the time when I was a kid. I still have the vinyl albums in the basement but they are really scratched. I use to love "My Uncle Roasted a Kangaroo". I still walk around the house singing it from time to time! I sing it in an opera voice just like it was on the album!
OH MY GOD MY MOM AND POP ARE BOTH IN HEAVEN IT WAS 1977 WHEN I FIRST HEARD THIS 8 TRACK. ME AND MY 4 BROTHERS AND SISTERS HAS BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS CHILDREN FAVORITES 4 ABOUT 10 YEARS AND WOW IT BLEW ME AWAY WHEN I HEARD IT AGAIN I WAS BACK TO BEING 5 YEARS OLD.... I'M GONNA FIND IT NOW. I KNOW ALL THAT MUSIC BY HEART IT WAS A WONDERFUL MEMORY
I remember this commercial but I was really looking for a similarly corny/creepy kids' album commercial--the one with "On Top of Spaghetti" and the bizarre dancing (cartoon) meatball. Anyone recall that one?
I have this record and its completely bonkers. All of the songs are so insane and the recordings are done in this bizarre 60's rock style that make them priceless to listen to now.
@democritus90 HEY MY NAME IS ALMA MORALES. I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS FOR 10 YEARS IT HAS A LOT OF SENTIMENTAL FEELINGS FOR ME MY MOM AND DAD PASSED AWAY AND THIS MUSIC CONNECTS ME TO THEM CAN U TELL ME THE ARTIST ON THESE SONGS I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE THIS WITH ME TO SHARE WITH MY KIDS. MY EMAIL ADDRESS IS AMORALES42M@AOL.COM. I WILL APPRECIATE THIS TIL DA DAY I DIE
Was the end announcement produced at WTBS? I've seen a ton of these ads from WTBS, where the address is always in Atlanta, and it's always that same voice, including phonetically correct pronunciation of Hawai'i as "Ha-wai--ee."
I've been waiting two months to see this commercial on YouTube, and now I'm finally getting the opportunity to see the whole Children's Favorite Commercial in its entirety. After all, I am a big fan of watching vintage record tv offers. Thanks, eyeh8cbs
Use to be shown on TBS and WGN! The "Boom Boom" figure should make you be crazy! 8Tracks are rare collectibles, so how much would one of this would cost?
Songs on the Children's Favorites album I never believed or heard of: Gretchen Pumpernickel, Father's Whiskers, Jack Can I Ride, Play Mate, Strawberry Jam, My Uncle Roasted a Kangaroo, Pretty Little Dutch Girl, Bird's Counting Song, Fooba Wooba John, Old Joe Clark, Captain Jinks, and The Sow Took. What were these songs about?
The Children's Favorites mail order record album commercial was not just early 1980's, it was mid-late 1970's as well. What kind of group was The Jingleheimers? Maybe named after the John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt song.
I don't know how old the tape this came from was, but I remember seeing this in 1983 so it at least ran til then. Wonder how the sound quality was on the album?
The kind of LP some blogger would want to comment on or even stick up MP3's for us to listen to! Lord knows I don't think I want to heard this at all, but I bet I would've been one of those snotty brats who'd play it over and over on my Fisher-Price phonograph!

I wonder what would happen if i actually wrote them a letter and asked for the 8 track.

They probably don't exist. Garage sales, flea markets probably will have it somewhere. I used to own the record years ago but it got lost.

LOL what a dumb comment I made, I was being sarcastic, but it would be funny if the company was still in business lol

This aired in Detroit in '85.
