electric drums arent real? to play good you need an acoustic set. so your saying for example that someone whos never played drums before will play good on an acoustic. You need to clarify what your trying to say more because it doesn't make sense. Of course I wouldn't play live with electric. I use them for practicing and recording.

well if your a beginner I would say get the cheapest set just so you can learn to play (you dont need good sounds to learn!) look up the ion IED05. Gotta hook that model to your computer for the sounds, although you can get for $150 or cheaper, and you could slowly upgrade them as well!
