  • HPA Motorsports is from Surrey Canada, not the US

  • The EIP Car (Blue) was a single turbo running on a stand alone system.. The HPA (silver) car was a twin turbo. Technically, EIP won the race because it was a "heads up race" and they even mis-shifted, while HPA's car has a faster overall 1/4 mile time. But it was set up as a "head up street race", not a real 1/4 mile with with the best time winning.

  • I believe that Eip won that race, hpa must of have the single turbo. But if anyone is looking for the Eip kits there not around anymore. Better off with Hpa, too many bad storys with Eip.

  • Pretty sure these are twin turbos. There's no way in hell a stock R32 engine with a single turbo will make 600+ horsepower. The HPA has their twin turbo kit I'm not sure about the EIP probably a twin turbo kit too.

  • I don't know who won, but HPA are is a solid as they come but expect to pay 12K for their kits, vs. EIP stage 5 usually was 9-10K.... Eip had such a foot hold on fast VW's but their service went down the toilet and hence them not doing very well :( They would make some fast cars just their tuners got a "shady" reputation which will demise any company! APR tuning has a wonderful business model and the stand behind their products 100% they just don't get crazy with cars that need turbo kits-vr6-

  • I've see no point and saying which car is better etc, every person has its own taste or perspectives when they buy their cars, I've owned two A4's 1.8T quattro w/5 speed manual, a A4 2.0T quattro 6 speed manual before getting the R32, before getting the R32 test drove the new Audi S4 manual and the audi A3 3.2 with DSG, I think I never gonna sell the R32 is just the best car I have ever driven in every sense, not just looking for speed or acceleration here, but in general.

  • many ppl think that Sti's and Evo's are better..sure theyre faster and they can be considered the best of both worlds when it comes to strip and track..but vw engines are made with a heavier alloy than japenese cars therefore there is less of the engine beating the shit out of itself..VW AND R32 FTW :D

  • yeah, I ordered parts from EIP and got ripped off. they took it forever and finally no parts. I had issues with them.

  • EVO and STI cool if your under 25, but ridiculous if your older. Most of the comments backing these cars are obviously made by teens. No doubt the Evo/STI out performs the R32 on the track and in acceleration, the r32 isnt that great on power. But what the japanese fail in is their build quality and their interiors are seriously in a class of their own. Ive been in cabs which are classier. Seriously girls just laugh at people driving these "hoon" cars.

  • Famous race here. To bad EIP later admitted to having a 50shot on the car to pull such amazing runs. There is a great reason why EIP is out of business with an angry crowd running after them. Last I heard, the EIP r32 was sitting dead at track left over from waterfest and know one would pick it up.

  • eip is shit. they did some terrible stuff to peoples cars like blowing engines and not telling their customers

  • we arent out of business. we fired all of our staff except for the designers (me) and got new employees. the R32 did actually die but that was because we had completely stripped the slant teeth on the front and rear differential. we did pick it up. and no we didnt use 50 shot nitrous. it was all motor. not backing up EIPtuning (i should be) but im not. i personally think HPA is a much better company and produces much better quality performance parts. we do make better exhausts though :)

  • The EIP kits have terrible reliability and it was a generally very dishonest business.

    Thats why they are closed, forever. ;)

  • Both very good tuned cars. The EIP seems to edge ahead at the half way stage and increase the gap over the HPG/HPA golf. From my understanding the HPA/HPG turboed golfs tend to have a lot better low down power and torque compared to the EIP whereas the EIP makes good top end power above 4k revs.

  • EIP makes better top end because it has 755hp vs. HPA's 550hp. The EIP also has more tq, 687 vs. HPA's low 600's. The HPA car has less lag, making it have a better start. It also ACTUALLY runs, unlike EIP's car.

  • im sure they made there car top of the line and didnt cut any corner meaning the blue one shown in the vid but they just didnt seem to care about their customers cars which would mean that r32 in the video is one of a kind a well built stage 5 eip turbo damn id love to get my hands on that badboy

  • @Mshab356 EIP also did used spray for their 1/4 mile runs unlike HPA, I do love EIP's competition R32 exhaust, in my opinion u cant get better sound then that. 2 bad its quite rare now, because they don't make those any more, and u had to order one to make when they were in business.

  • @Mshab356 the EIP golf is FWD and the HPA is AWD , so the HPA is better in the launch! But at the and EIP wins because it has 100hp more!

  • @elmatadore333 a Gold R32 is always AWD, unless it has a drivetrain swap. So thus, the EIP and HPA golfs are both AWD. You can even see it in the launch of these cars in the beginning. If the EIP was FWD, it would be way behind the HPA in the start. The EIP would probably win because it has more horsepower. Otherwise, the HPA is a much better turbo kit.

  • Not sure what the specs are for modded Sti's and EVO's, but my R32 does 0-100mph in 7.8 seconds and a 1/4 mile in the 10's. I've "taken it to the road" with Porsche (caymen s, 911 turbo, gt2), Audi (RS4, RS6), Mercedes (CLK,CLS,SL,SLK,S, all those random letters), Lotus (Exige S, Elise, and one older model), Slow Hemi Dodge's, STi's and EVO's, and any pocket rocket that wants to try.

  • And I don't recall the model or exact power someone said earlier, but I don't think a 580 bhp car will beat a heavily modded r32, not mine atleast ~650bhp.

    We should all just get along, both cars are quick, one is just more classy than the other.

  • quite fankly all of you are wrong. the 2004 VW R32 out performs the Mitsubishi Evolution and the Subaru WRX STI by far in handling on asphalt. the VW was not designed by the Volkswagon engineers to be used as a rally car. now in a straigt line, the other two competetors would win in a race, but if you can afford to buy 1 of the 2 competing cars for almost $10k more, you can probably afford a chip you could kick both there asses

  • I work for Mitsu as a tech I own a R32. I have to say APS makes beautifull exhaust and intercooler but what you dont know is that APS 900hp car isnt street legal and the 500whp is but nither last long at those level. VR6's are well built and have 2 more cylinders these will last longer than the evo's motor. I work on them alot kid's bring them in just with a boost controler an exhaust intercooler and pretty much blown the motor at 15000 miles.

  • yeah... it is street legal, the drag car isn't but the owners car is. It puts down around 960 to the wheels. No doubts the R32 is a great car but it's not a competetor for the EVO and STI, try comparing it to the Mazdaspeed6 or an A3.. wait thats the same car.... don't compare it to that.

  • I don't think most of us will have the chance to jump our R32's and turn them around dirt roads at 180mph... I don't think most Evo and Impreza owners will want to do that either. Evos are great and all, but the R32's are an extremely well built car all around.

  • the evo may beat the r32 in a drag and in corners cuase its lighter but all around the r32 is better made, sounds a hell of alot better and personally an evo is nothin but a 4 door sallon with a gigantic turbo.   • R32 is just germany's desperate attempt to compete with the WRX sti and EVO MR. R32 doesn't provide the pure performance experience that WRX and EVO gives you. My choice will always be the EVO MR with no AC, Cruise Control, No power anything, No sound system. Just pure performance and nothing else.

  • I'll beat both of these cars with both of my ferocious machines. My 540 bhp Mitsu Lancer EVO MR and my Ducati 999r. Ducati 999r would just crush the opposition with its 999cc engine. So fast, that it actually hurts when it accelerates and also extremely hard to keep the front wheel on the ground. EVO MR, just perfect. No words to explain that car.
