The Savior pled with His Father that the bitter cup of the pains suffered in atoning for sin might pass from Him. I guess that makes your verse that you quoted false, considering that Proverbs was ADDED AFTER Deuteronomy!

I understood apostles had to walk with Christ according to (Acts 1:16-26). This prerequisite if frequently ignored.

@Kazae02 So then by that measure Paul was not an Apostle and neither was Barnabas. However Acts 14:14 would seem to indicate that these two were in fact Apostles. The way I approach the reference to Acts 1:16-26 is that they were specifically looking for someone to replace Judas Iscariot as a founding Apostle. Yes this is my inerpretation and I am open to correction :-) God Bless.

Mormons probably understand the importance of freedom of expression, and practicing religion, more than most Americans.

Romney was interrogated regarding his faith because of Joseph Smith's documented transgressions and because he piously believes that Hinckley and now Monson are transmitters of supernal divine wisdom. If the religion is false, then the people's concerns were entirely valid, and like Smith, Romney was an unwitting enemy of democratic values. His dishonesty cost him an actual shot at the presidency, and most of us are relieved.

Free inquiry is highly encouraged in the Church. I have been surrounded by educated Mormons my entire life, and I consider myself one (I have probably read more anti-Mormon literature than you have, and continually read critical commentary).

He is not obligated to be respectful, and let's not have a referendum on my "reasoning" when its you who has seen fit to cleave uncritically to the every dictum of the church. Much of what these men spout is divisive nonsense. The dislike of Mormonism is not a supernatural phenomenon, its due to the doctrines promulgated by the church. Joseph was killed because he attempted to set up a theocracy in Illinois, and when he smashed the Expositor he proved himself to have dictatorial tendencies.
